They need to stop calling states until most of the returns are in and it's clrear who won. Calling FL with 47% of the returns in and Gore clinging to a half a percent lead was a stupid move.

I imagine the votes counted in Michigan were from the peninsula up in the northwest, and that Detroit wasn't counted yet. The networks all called Michigan on the basis of exit polling instead of waiting for votes to come in.
