i have been on two cruises one, Freedom Of The Seas and Carnival Fascination. The carnival cruise was just awful compared to the royal carribean cruise. There was not an ounce of comparison. The crowd on the Freedom was much more classy and upscale. The freedom was quite an amazing ship but i was told by my travel advisor the freedom is a dingy compared to oasis! I just planned my vacation with my 12 year old daughter and husband today on oasis ! i am soooo excited. the ship looks AMAZING!! :)

@j4real Hi There. Thanks. I used either a tripod, glidecam or sliding dolly for stabilization. You can't really shoot video free-hand with this camera(Canon 5DMarkII).

Make reservations for all of the shows in the Aqua Theater, Opal Theater, etc shortly after you board, otherwise you might miss out on them.

In Term. 18, all of the stations are divided per decks, you'll see once you get inside.

ALL staterooms will be inaccessible if I recall correctly until 1:00 PM, so bring important items through carry-ons.

To get on the deck above the bridge, head to bow of Deck 14, take a left at the Youth Zone, right, and follow the hallway down.

Fun video. I went on my first cruise 5 years ago and it was AMAZING. I swear I was in heaven for a week. Beautiful waters, sunshine, relaxation, isolated from the world, fun, food, family. Anyway, momentum is building among the family to go the Allure of the Seas (the Oasis' sister ship) next September. So I've been watching videos about the Oasis and it looks AWESOME. I've seen the Eastern Caribbean so I may not leave the ship.

I've watched your video five or six times. It looks great. Please settle a debate. I think you used some sort of steadicam device for some of the shots (particularly your wife in the alleyways.) My friend (a videographer) says you just held on tight and used stabilization software. I'd love to know. We'll be on the Oasis in August, and I'm hoping to do something like our Disney video (on my page) with my family. You've inspired me to bring my game up a notch.

There is stabilization software available but I dont have the patience for that to render. I d rather get the shot done the right way the first time. Enjoy your vacation you will have a great time. @chibbu1965 Thanks so much. The program has a learning curve. It took awhile to learn but worth every min of the frustration. The 5DMKII is a Digital SLR that has a full sized sensor and gives you that true 35mm film look. I utilize the video function of this photo camera and use it as my primary video camera. Its worth every penny. Believe me.
