This is really wonderful. Is the repair to the "lamp accident" on a fully cured nail? What I mean is, did that coat get the full 2 minute cure, or was it removed from the lamp before it finished curing? I'm just wondering if the alcohol tricks work as well on a fully cured nail.
Thank you for this great video! There are no CND salons in my area so I bought the stuff online. But it chips off in front within days. I thought i sealed the front edge. Watching you I see I am likely not applying it just right. Also I bought a different 4 bulb light that fits both hands. I see yours has a fan. Do I have to buy a CND brand to cure properly? Larger size is more convenient for home.
What's the difference between the base coat and top coat, and do you HAVE to apply the base coat? Also what is the alcohol that you use to take off the stickyness after the top caot? thanksXXXX
I have been practising my french application and it seems that all the friends I do it on gets chipping after 4-5days. I am applying it very thin, curing for the correct time and I am capping. I am very frustrated as I want to start charging for my product but am not happy with the result! Does anyone have any tips on capping? I can't think of anything else I do that would effect the chipping at the nail edge.
This video is EXCELLENT. You are a great teacher. This helped me immensely. I use the Gelish system (only on myself....I'm not a tech) but the principles are the same. Thank you.
@cutynobi21 If the nails are ridged then you have to be very diligent about getting the base and color coats thin and not having it thick in the ridges or they will peel as the Shellac is under-cured in strips
I even love the little whisper your camera person does at the 47sec mark just before you go to apply. I can't make out what it says, but I just picked it up after many times of watching this video.
You are a great help to many techs, thank you for all your effort:)
Hi. My problem is that I apply the shellac and it appears that it covers the entire nail smoothly, by the time I finish the thumb nail and go back to look at the others before I cure, the sides of the nails need more shellac. It looks like the polish dried up on the sides and I have to go back and apply more. They end up being thick, because of the extra coats to cover the sides. What can I do to get that one coat and it stays even?
@Jaedivine77 make sure you are scrubbing the entire nail with the ScrubFresh really well, as if you were removing red polish! Then lay your base coat thin and smooth as if it were a red polish. Shake your Shellac to be sure it is well mixed and the combination of those should give you nice lines on the sides. There is a video on base coat tips as well as polish pointers if those would help.
I am having issues with the base coat , it looks like it is grainy for lack of a better word . The very first set I did looked great but all 3 sets after have looked that was . I have shaken it well but don't know what I am doing wrong.
What causes Shellac to crack and chip within the two weeks between visits? I've been conscious to apply it thin and allow it to cure the full time, but I have two customers who still have issues.
@FingerNailFixer Both customers removed acrylic for Shellac. Their nails are slightly weak but do not have cracks or breaks. The Shellac has stayed on most of the nail but chipped on the edges or crackled across the surface but not come off.
@beckigrace that makes me think the nail is a bit weak, you might consider trying the fiberglass trick (there is a video in my videos here) on a test nail and see if that gives it just enough strength so you can get them grown past that week spot in the nails, it comes right off with the Shellac so you can re-evaluate its need each 2 weeks
When i go and do a french mani, I usually do the white line then do top light pink coat. Can I still do that with this system or should I do sheer pink first and then white smile line?
@vegashunter if you do not need to clean up the smile line normaly then applying the white first is fine. Applying the pink first is suggested to protect the base coat when the smile line is being cleaned up.
Having trouble with my Shellac getting so thick in the bottle, Fradora is the worst, and it has bubbles in it after taking it out of the light. HELP! embarressing when a client is sitting there watching this, also top gets thick also, is there a way to thin it out for easier applaction. Cannot apply Fradora thin and it cover nail also. You Shellac queen thanks for posting videos has helped me lots!
@fancydnails do you shake your Shellac? I mean really shake it like you mean it? Shake each bottle you are going to use for 20-30 seconds each client. If you have not been shaking them you may need to shake longer, imagine mixing a bottle of polish into a jar of gel! Once they are well shaken you should notice a difference in the application :o)

@missxtimmi on natural nails you must have the base, the top protects the Shellac, the alcohol is 99% isopropyl

I have a question about shellac iced cappuccino application.
Some of my cliants had this color and their nails are really dry, thin and ridged.
When I do their nails, especially iced cap had lasted 3-4 days.
My quiestion is when clients have dry, rideged nails, should I not recommend this colour?
I appreciate in advance ur advice.
