  • Wow!! That is AMAZING!! :) I really do want to make a quilt now. Was thinking of one for my Grans birthday which is in a weeks time but I think I am leaving it a little too late. I haven't exactly done much sewing before so it is all new to me. What do you think? Would 5-6 days be long enough to finish it in?!

  • @S00015523 I think that's plenty of time! Just cut and sandwich on one day, sew the x's the next, sew the strips the next, and that leaves several days to clip the edges!! I wish you luck!

  • I've thought about making a rag quilt for over a year now and after watching your videos I think I am ready to try it!! You have a real gift for inspiring others and I thank you for taking the time to make the video

  • @auntiesherry That is so very kind! Thank you for letting me know this!!

  • Fantastic!! I watched all of your videos and feel like I am now ready to tackle my gifts for friends. Thanks you so much for all the time spent helping others. You have done a marvelous job!!

  • @pjbjorlo That's very sweet, thank you!!!!

  • I just bought an embroidery machine and I was wondering do you sew the patches together first and then embroider the name? I have noticed if the patches are sewn together you can see the name from the back too and in the above video you don't see that on the back of your quilt. I just love your tutorials they were very helpful when I first started making these rag quilts...you had the only tutorial that showed step by step instructions throughtout the making of the entire rag quilt.

  • @Crafts6414 Thank you, I really appreciate that! I embroider the name on the top square of fabric, by itself (no batting or backing). That way you don't see the backside of the embroidery when you do sandwich it!! (:

  • @vianneylu1 Thank you so much so once you embroider the name on it you sandwich it and sew the X? Does it not run through the name? I'm sorry for all the questions I'm new to embroidering. I really appreciate it :)

  • @Crafts6414 No worries! I sew around the name, or sew freehand stars or something to hole the sandwich together (if necessary, with small blocks it's not a huge problem, especially if you're not using batting).

  • @vianneylu1 My blocks are 6 inches so do you recommend i sew a circle around the name rather than an X? I will sew the rest of my blocks with an X just trying to figure out what to do with this so I don't mess it up. It's a baby shower gift for my cousin. I figured that would mess it up thats why I was waiting on your reply lol. I don't use batting as it doesn't get very cold here. Maybe one day you can do a video where you show the steps with embroidery. Thanks so much!

  • @Crafts6414 A circle would look great!! I know it'll be gorgeous! Thanks!

  • You are one of the best teachers, you have made everything SO clear. Can't wait to get

  • This is definetely the bast tutorial I've seen and I've watched a ton! Your quilt is beautiful and you were very informative. I got stuck on how to get it frayed. I was a"frayed" I would mess it up. tee-hee No one else told us how to finish it. :)

  • What a great series!! Thank you so much. I've had them bookmarked for a week or so and have been coming back to them for reference. I am a beginner, and just know the basics of my sewing machine. Thanks to this, I am about to fnish my first rag quilt (I made me bigger). You've also inspired me to take a few quilting classes :). Thank you!

  • Looking at your quilt series, now I want to go out and buy a sewing machine so I can try and make one. I love your videos but it's causing me the bank!!:)!

  • @Platurner LOL, I'm sooooo sorry! (:

  • @scrappingtodo Thank you, Deb! I have made many "traditional" quilts, also; just couldn't resist the ease of these cuties! I made a queen size one to donate to my little one's daycare, and it only took one night! 10" blocks made quick work of the project!!

  • I am so so so going to do this and I would love for you to show us more. My son is a big football fan and I would love to do one for his room we are in Oklahoma and it gets cold here so can you show one with the batten? You are just too sweet sharing your talent with us and I thank you for your time. (I see you done your nails very beautiful)
