  • @hegs2 oh. well, close enough.

    Rammstein Mash-up!!!

  • wow! i remember watching this video when it had like a thousand views. good to see that it has become so popular in the meantime:)

  • fick deutschland! nazi's

  • So how's their accent?

  • Comment removed

  • 10 billion people are waiting for a Chinese version!

  • my motherthoung is german and i hardly understand something ...

  • Simply the best.....

  • Besser in Deutsche version

  • I can speak German almost as well as i can english and whoever translated this song into german did a really bad job, the lyrics are MUCH better in english, nothing to do with the german language just whoever wrote the german version didn't do a very good job, hope the french version was better!

  • @Euripidies74 No, better in French.

  • @Euripidies74 What did they say?

  • Interesting thing about pianists is they don't usually face the audience because then the audience couldn't see their fingers.

  • Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ob Deutsch, Französisch oder Englisch, das Lied ist ein Klassiker.

    Abba forever.

  • QUE LINDO CANTA ABBA EN ALEMÁN

POR AHÍ LEÍ QUE EL INGLÉS Y EL ALEMÁN SON PARECIDOS PUES LO SON YA QUE PERTENECEN AL GRUPO LINGÜISTICO GERMÁNICO.

EN CAMBIO EL FRANCÉS EN LA ESCRITURA ES PARECIDO AL RESTO DE LENGUAS ROMANCES PERO NO EN LA PRONUNCIACIÓN.

EL ESPAÑOL SE ENTIENDE FÁCILMENTE CON EL PORTUGUÉS, EL ITALIANO, EL RUMANO, EL CATALÁN Y DEMÁS LENGUAS DE PROCEDENCIA LATINA.

    SALUDOS

  • You tell'em Sugar

  • German is a wonderful language, and im glad to know it, those who dont like it can stick it, and if u dont like german then why the hell are u listening to Abba in german???? they sing in english too dumbasses

  • PS I swear every time is see a vid about Germany, germanic languages etc i find comments about ww2 WTF people ??????????????????? : /

  • @BigLouieLittlePhilly There are some who are hell bent on punishing Germans for alledged illegal treatment of prisoners. Most Germans were born after WWII & had nothing to do with the war. Any convient place they can use it they will disparage Germany. Well for those their BS is falling on deaf ears. I could care less but they are using us to carry on their wars.

  • @BigLouieLittlePhilly

WTF indeed!!! It gets old and shows ignorance......

  • Ich sags mal so..... Waterloo, jemand schaut mir beim duschen zu xD

  • @BigLouieLittlePhilly Don't even try to defend yourself against such trash. That's what they want; to make the world have a slanted view of Germans. I wouldn't give them air in a jug; you shouldn't either. Without listeners their ravings go away.

  • I can't believe how horrible German is!!! It could perfectly be the language of Mordor or a Nazi means of comunication...ooops it is.

  • @alexmejia26 and you could be a fucking idiot.... oops you are.

german is a nice language, like every other language too.

can a language be horrible at all?

  • @WertherMa Dude, I am not the only one who thinks so. Do a little research on the web and see for yourself what is the ugliest language according to REAL PEOPLE. In summary, German is horrible; get over it.

  • @alexmejia26:

a language doesn`t murder people or else I could say any language for example Hebrew, English etc does murder people.Ridiculous.

    It`s the people.

    Nice song.

  • @luxcretia2 Are you on drugs? when did I say that a language kill people (read my comment again; it's just two sentences).

  • @alexmejia26

The German language and English are actually very similar! More so than French or Spanish. The only ugly thing around here is your opinion ... the song is very beautiful!!

  • @sbconfirm Exactly .... English is a Germanic language .... with influence from the French after the Norman conquest. I think German is a beautiful language....wish I had learned it in school instead of French.

  • waterloo was won by the prussians any way

  • @norman823 From Wikipedia: A French view of the reasons for Napoleon's defeat

"In my opinion, four principal causes led to this disaster:

The first, and most influential, was the arrival, skilfully combined, of Blücher, and the false movement that favored this arrival. The second, was the admirable firmness of the British infantry, joined to the sang-froid and aplomb of its chiefs; the third, was the horrible weather......etc etc"

  • @norman823

    How come , please ?!

  • I think Frida was born in Norway..... Anyway, nice to hear them in German for a change.

I initially got interested in ABBA because of Sexy Agnetha (ahem!), then later realised that I liked their songs too.

(BTW, no STRAIGHT British male will ever admit to liking an ABBA song [me being an exception])

  • @MrRudyjj

Yes her dad was a German soldier, part of the occupying force during WWII. He went back to Germany at the war's end, and Frida and her Mother moved to Sweden, for fear of reprisals.

  • @MrRudyjj Totally agree with you, 99.9% of straight males fear being mocked by their macho mates for liking ABBA songs. Its a pity they can`t decide for themselves what they like and not try to fit in with their macho mates.

  • These Swedish girls are sure chunky

  • Ooo...multifacited blondie...soooooo gut! Oei, la,la!!! Sexier in German, in love all over again! I love her dimples.

  • Ooo...multifacited blondie...soooooo gut! Oei, la,la!!! Sexier in German, in love all over again!

  • Ooo...multifacited blondie...soooooo gut! Oei, la,la!!!

  • Ooo...multifacited blondie...soooooo gut! Oei, la,la!

  • sehr gut mensch

  • her dad was a Nazi so this is appropo

  • AAAAAAAAAA-MY GREAT ABBA-HOW I LOVE THEM. :)

  • ES LA PRIMERA VEZ QUE ESCUCHO A ABBA CANTAR EN ALEMÁN

  • Wow... Frida and Agentha have SUCH accents in German... But then, so did Dorthe...

  • Die ist sehr gut fuer karnival.

    Viva Colonia !

  • Ich mag dieses!

  • Toll! Ich liebe ABBA. (:

  • Waterloo sung in German makes it more appealing to me. Sort of like opera sung in Italian or German. The foreign language adds a mystique. However if they sang Waterloo in Iowanesque, it wouldn't be as sexy. :)

  • this is the world I want to live in.

  • Wow, this makes me love them even more. And Agnetha just depresses me, she's so damn beautiful. (sigh)

  • This is fantastic! The German version is just tops and is much better than the Swedish. My German isn't brilliant but I could pick out Waterloo and Napolean.

  • Those are some really talented polyglots!

  • lol --Reminds us that Waterloo was as much a victory for the Prussians as the English. And those clothes . . .

  • That sounds weird...i like the English version better ;)

  • Was heißt eigentlich Waterloo auf deutsch ?

    Wasserklo ?

  • They are not ABBA.

  • @hjoab What? Are you kidding, of course they are.

  • Don´t mention the war!! ;-)

  • Hearing this in German makes me want to march.

  • @polarisathena lol or goose step. jk

  • I thought Enya was cool for singing in three languages. Wow.

  • I never knew that they sang that song in my language. It's so cool to hear them singing german :D

  • freaks

  • hahaha COOL!!

  • As I remember it, Frieda was born in Norway to German parents. I'm sure German came naturally to her.

  • @idlefyrewyld: Her father was German but she never knew him - so she didn't learn German when young. ;)

  • she wants to do the audience...

    ( translated from german)

  • heard this version one or two times, i just love to hear them sing in german, like in ring ring ring

  • @DaVinci606 think outside the box, its not just that they could be saying "hello" in general, its the words that come AFTER hello, if any, that can tend to make it sound quite mean. I know it's not, but that's not what I'm saying lol.

  • Swedish and German are sister langs, so, it's not that surprising

  • @cub68134 Swedish isn't really much more closely related to German than to English (or German to English). It has a lot of borrowed words from German, but the grammar is completely different.

  • @platypusfrenzy Well, with what I know of German and langs in general, Swedish, German, English, Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Dutch, Flemish, and a few others are all related as they form the Germanic Language Family within the European langs. Similar to Romance langs and Slavic langs. English is born out of Low German dialects.

  • These singer are awesome!! and they always will be awesome!!

  • I always thought german was such a harsh language, this just changed my mind...amazing...

  • @putnut33 yeah, sometimes when germans are speaking, it sounds like theyre mad at you but really, they could just be saying hello. :P

  • @rosealieposealie it has a certain forcefulness to it

  • @putnut33 That's no surprise, if the only German you ever heard was in Rammstein songs and WWII movies.

  • @insaneAnimeLover hahha^^ da hast du Recht :-)

  • @insaneAnimeLover

I like Rammstein songs, WWII movies, and ABBA. That's how I learned German. I'm American and I have friends in Thailand. They love Rammstein and ABBA as well...it's quite common when I visit Bangkok. The German language and culture is popular all over the world. Dankeschoen und herzliche Glueckwuensche Deutsche Buerger!

  • @putnut33 it's because their German sounds like Swedish...lol

  • @kiliodoulos26 haha, exactly.

  • @putnut33 expand your horizons.... :o)

  • Awesome!

  • Wow, I knew they sang it in 4 languages but not surprised they sang it in 5 languages, Now that is major talent.

  • sher gut!

  • yweah und mi leichten akzent gan ganz leicht

  • G R E A T !! I remember 1972: I was 9 Years old. ABBA 4 ever ;-)

  • The german lyrics of waterloo are extremely funny ;D

    They're really talented !!

  • Does anyone can say me where can I find the spanish version of Waterloo?

  • WOW! great song.

    ABBA sind sehr Internationale

  • Vaterloo?

  • Amazing.

  • Better in German....

  • Dutch is better then english version

  • @RrObbieisme Dutch? why dutch?

  • @RrObbieisme Your making a comparison. As such, it's "than" rather than "then" which references a past time.

  • Abba, das Beste in Schwedisch, Deutsch, Spanisch und Englisch. Abba Nummer eins.

  • sehr gut

  • At least Agntha & Björn speak German fluently - they had lots of interviews on German TV in the 70ties.

  • best song in german

Best of both worlds AWESOME!

  • ja also auf englisch gefällt es mir besser:) aber is cool das sie sowas gemacht haben:)

  • interessant, wenn auch gewöhnungsbedürftig auf deutsch... :-)

  • ABBA in deutsche sprache, Wunderbar!!

  • I love it too....

  • mein leiblingsleid bei ABBA

  • Kick Me!!! Cool. But Better In English

  • I prefer the spanish versions myself, but this one kicks butt! I think they sound great in any language.

  • whoa! this sounds good! I wish I could get this version in iTunes

  • This ROCKS!

  • wOo more languages...

  • ohh wie süß abba auf deutsch

  • du weißt was du hast

  • Very cool. I like ABBA in German. I have no idea what they are saying from just listening but of course I know the English language version so I know what they are saying. Funny early on, one of the lines at the end sounds like they are saying "Scooby Doo".

  • netter Akzent

  • They should've done way more songs - both studio and live - in German.

  • they changed the fucking world.

and this is coming from a guy who saw the dead kennedys in 1985,,,

  • Alles kla ,loss gehtzz, ABBA fur immer.

  • Germany language is very good, and nice

    weil ich liebe deutschland auch.

    danke

  • Because they were even hotter in German, Spanish and Swedish.

  • @js3862 Not true!!!! Australia was the first country to give them international stardom. Then UK followed. English speaking songs are much more popular than songs sung in german. Let's face it, the ABBA songs are meant to rhyme. How can they in other languages. They sound silly.

  • Uh, no their first big break was in the Eurovision competition that they won in 73. After that they toured in '74 throughout Europe it wasn't until March of '77 that they did their first Australian tour. That's 4 years and lots of international stardom later. Try wikipedia it'll explain a lot for you. And, are you seriously going to argue whether singing in a language other than English is hotter? How about arguing the sky is a better shade of blue where you live.

  • @EddieAlda Well of course English songs are more popular, as there are way more people able to understand English than German for example...

And if you had at least tried to listen, this German version did rhyme, so that point was just b*llsh*t. And don't you dare tell me, this sounded silly. They had a strong accent, yes, but considering that each fricking english-speaking nation has a different accent that you hear in their songs, it doesn't really matter, does it now?

  • @MoD366 Yeah, besides, EVERYONE has an accent. From national and regional down to personal. Usually people "notice accents" whose 1st or only language is English.

  • @chocolatepoundcake Not necessarily... I'm a native German and we do notice accents... we Germans have quite a few ourselves and sometimes it's harder to understand a Bavarian when you're from northern Germany (or vice versa) than understanding an Irishman when you only know that kind-of-Oxford English they teach here.

But you are of course right with your assumption that everyone (well, let's say almost everyone) has an accent. And that's nothing bad, is it.

  • @chocolatepoundcake Ah, gut jetzt weiß ich, was du meinst^^

Oo XD

  • That was really awesome~!! I had no idea they could speak and sing German. WOW!!!

  • Actually, they can sing in 5 languages. I have all five versions of this song. They're awesome!

  • I was always under the impression they where American but now I know they are Swedish. I always liked many of their songs growing up but was never really really into them but they have a good sound. Being from the part of the world they are from it is much more prevalent to speak a number of languages. Very cool you have this song in five languages for your collection. I only speak English and German so that's good enough for me. They are awesome. (:

  • I wish they would have recorded more of their songs in alternate languages though. What they did was great though so I can't complain.

  • @xdj70s I know about English and German version(Germain - now :D)... Which languages are the next 3?

  • @xdj70s What is the fifth language? I heard about four not five. Maybe I am wrong.

  • @Friduska93 English, Swedish, French, German, and Spanish.

  • @xdj70s Five? English, Swedish, French, German... what's the fifth? I'm curious. :o

  • @LynxRunner Spanish

  • @terraceterra it sounds really funny to me...

  • @terraceterra

it shows us all how brilliant this supergroup were. Not only did they have numerous hits but they can also sing them in 5 languages - unbelievably clever.

now has any got that Britney version of baby one more time in welsh !!! nuff said !

  • @terraceterra Most swedes (including me who learn german @ school), understands german (fairly) easily since its closely bonded to swedish, same language family and stuff (I have grade A in german @ school so I can tell the tale)

  • LOL at Opie. It's Agnetha Faltskog!!!

  • Cool, now I can get a boner in German.

  • I was a fool for Agnetha Sonderkuderskol...or whatever her wonderful name is since I was like 5 years old! Those silver disco boots are icing on the cake.

  • hahahahaha

  • Do they actually know all these languages or are they singing phonetically?

  • i'm not sure, but it loooks phonetically

  • @Efrainpedroza Look at agnetas german recordings and deside yourself-I guees she knew german since her former boyfriend was one.Frida had german father so I guess she knew some.Only on talking spanish was Bjorn I think-I guess the spanish record was his project.French dont know and swedish yes they all talked that.

  • There's a video here in youtube where Frida is translating French for Benny. :)

  • Esa española! haciendo memoria

  • Correction! They have released songs in FIVE languages. Swedish, English, French, Spanish and German.

  • Wow! what memories this version brings to me. I was in the Army stationed in Germany in 1973. I heard this on German stations and recorded it. I must have listened to it a few thousand times! When I got back to the states I was surprised to hear the English version. I have found songs by them in four languages. What other group has done this?

  • @314a1011 The Beatles released songs in a few European languages back in the day....

  • simpson30;

I have a couple German releases of the Beatles but I am not aware of any other languages.

Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand (I Want to Hold Your Hand)

Sie Liebt Dich (She Loves You)
