NO, I foound my first shiny at a 1 chain. i freaked cause i couldent figure out what was up with the patch. i wasent even looking for one.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut- if you can get your chain To 40, you have a higher chance of finding one. just reset at 40 over and over again till u find one.

nope you just have to use your pokeradar and chain the pokemon and after while say maybe the 40th or 50th chain you'll find one.

I actually found a shiny onix when I was just starting out in the oreburgh mine, but my turtwig accidentally killed it T_T. A few months later i found 2 shiny tentacruels, 1 one day and another the next day (you wouldn't believe how exited I was!!)

no.. you need to at least find 40 or 50 of the same pokemon in a patch of grass like lets say you found an eevee in a patch of grass and after the 40th or 50th time you run into that SAME pokemon it should be shiny because the percentage gets higher.

There is a formula to cathcing shinies, once you chain 40 of the pokemon, you have reached the maximum chance of finding a shiny, so when you get to 40, keep resetting the radar, and stop chaining. You CAN catch them at less than 40, but 40 just has the most chance.

Its random. I'm still having trouble seeing the shiny patches. I know what they look like but I miss them in the heat of the moment. I got a shiny bidoof on a chain of 1 while I was hunting teddiursas (third shiny first pokeradar)

Following the rules only increases your chance of getting high chains. My chains also break before 10 loads of times.

You need at least a chain of 1, but it will take HOURS to find a shiny on such a low chain.
