adnan lived in kuwait for 17 years like a kuwaiti. even all his friends were kuwaiti. he was welcomed in their houses, ate with them, went out with them and now that he became american he is saying bad things about kuwait and forgot that kuwait made him who he is now
no american should be proud of such person. adnan should be proud that he lived in such a generous country where his father worked and was HIGHLY paid and his family still live there and never thought of leaving q8
I shouldn't think so. His very first sentence said something about the troops fighting for America's freedoms on the streets of Baghdad. Agree or disagree with the war, you can't claim that it is being fought for the freedom of American citizens. The security, perhaps. The freedom, hardly. It sounded rather propaganda-ish, and frankly untrue -- careless at best, dissimulating at worst. I confess to not having listened further, so if later points of the speech inspired you, my apologies.
Also, wait a minute, he's endorsing the war in Iraq and Afghanistan? him being Palestinean should make him do the opposite. I think he's got some personal issues with Kuwait (i.e them not giving him citizenship) that caused him to be all ' I hate the middle east' even though he is middle eastern! It's great that he's American and all now, but common, at join the democrats (way more logical, awesome, and don't go around killing innocent people around the world).
With all due respect, the US didn't do any 'liberation'. I think it's unwise to still pretend like we think they went in to 'liberate' when even republican themsevles know they went in for the oil, and to show China and the EU that they still have the upperhand. Liberation never was and never will involve the death of over 1 million innocent people and the torture of innocent people in prisons (Abu ghraib). I personally have nothing against Adnan Barqawi, he seems to be very eloquently outspoken
But I'm just against his actions. The most puzzling thing to me is how on earth is he ENDORSING Bob McDonnel after what happened at Virginia Tech! His own alma matter! It's awful, just awful.
He is endorsing Bob McDonnell because he believes in himself and his country. What did Bob McDonnell have to do with Virginia Tech. A crazed student happened to Virginia tech. You are the problem. Always looking to misassign blame and wear the flag of victimhood. This man is a winner and Bob McDonnell is a winner. They both have won because they work hard and do the right thing rather than making excuses for doing the wrong thing and lifting up human weakness as merit.
If one or two of the professors (or even students) at Virginia Tech had been carrying personal firearms, the shooter could have been stopped, and many lives could have been saved. But instead, all people could do was cower behind desks and get shot like fish in a barrel. THAT is tragic.
Tell that to the Iraqi's now. I did not see how he hates the middle east. He doesn't have to hate the middle east to love America. He is a winner because he doesn't embroil himself in the bitterness and anger that keeps those down in his homeland. Also the US liberated Kuwait. Listen to this man's message it is a message of individuality and personal responsibility. A message rooted in the principles of the founding of this country.
The US liberated Kuwait in exchange for Kuwait's OIL and money. They didn't do it out of the kindness of their hearts. It was a business transaction, help us and we help you. So stop dragging out and thinking that you did something huge. Cause all it shows is greed :D
I knew adnan personally in high school back in Kuwait. He was never discriminated against. The only thing he ever keeps talking about is how he 'wasnt eligible for free public education' FYI to all those who doesn't know he was eligible for public education but it cost him a measly fee of 200 dollars per year! COME ON thats pretty generous I think. Besides he didn't need public education since he got FREE PRIVATE EDUCATION which his dad's company paid for which would have cost a Kuwaiti citizen
9,000 dollars! So he got the better end of the deal and is making it sound like he was discriminated against! He also had so many friends back in high school all kuwaiti. He was the president of the student representative council in school as well as class valedictorian. So what more proof does one need to know that they aren't being discriminated against? BESIDES his fake speech is just a bunch of quotes he found on the internet. he always does that. It's just a sham!

Wait a minute? Didn't that kid go to Tech? isn't Bob McDonnell the reason the massacre happened (loose gun laws and all). So he's endorsing a man, who's laws lead to the death of 32 of his school mates? very wise!
Virginia has very strict gun laws but doesn't not ban people who have never committed a crime from having them. Also crazy nuts and criminals don't care about the law by definition. It seems to me it was our Democrat candidates that would have crazy nut criminal felons voting.
This is an extraordinary young man, one who understands what it means to be an American, what it means to have freedom and the necessity to defend it. I am very proud to welcome him as an American. I am sure he has a bright future.
On 30 May Adnan Barqawi a newly minted and proud American got up to speak before other proud Americans. He spoke about gratitude, freedom, and opportunity. He is living a life that isn't possible anywhere else on earth. Anyone who would insult or degrade him for that is a pathetic detesstable creature. America is unique among all nations - we have nothing to apologize for.
yeah also try stickign fingers in your ears, closing your eyes and loudly singing lalalala, the evil of truth will be defeated by the forces of mythology!
I have read much of what you have written in this string your rants are hateful as well as demonstratively (and laughably) false. Funny how a patriotic young man can trigger such anger and hate in a liberal. Whether or not you respond, Ill not waste any more time on such a pathetic creature.
no objections! obama is the typical charismatic leader figure in a neo-fascist system. you would never see him hold a speech in a military outfit - the crude militarism that was heart and core of the old fascism is not his thing. but that doesnt mean he is capable or willing to take on the either the fascist system or the military.
but obamas personal style is just different. he hails rather from traditional american demagogy. just dont take my word, do the comparison!
PS: i think you missed the comparisons of obama and bush: msnbc and many others pointed out that some of obamas speeches were almost word for word the same as bushs

so let me guess, you feel threatened by the fact that our party has a good speaker? If you want to see a speech like Hitler, check out Obama's speech in Germany. Sure looked like Nuremberg to me.
you are lucky that the whole world has forgotten nuremberg, otherwise most of the bush administration and much of the military would have to be trialed and hanged!
obamas speech was widely criticised for his cold war rhetorics, otherwise it was rather irrelevant, and germans dont really know how bad american politics and media really are, i guess they d be rather surprised, ppl were just relieved to see bush gone
You have to love the hate speech from the left. Hitler and Mussolini were socialists. They were all about nationalizing banks and car companies, controlling transportation and production. They attacked the rich and promised to take care of everybody. Hey wait a minute, that sounds like . . . . . . maybe you should add a newer example of power speaker to the list. We need more Americans like Barqawi he was all about freedom - maybe you missed that?.
spoiler hitler was what in the usa would be celebrated as a "war hero" - decorated and praised by his superiors for his courage in battle. his early "trademark" was holding speeches in soldiers uniform. his campaign portrait him as the humble soldier chosen by god - sounds familiar?
and attack the rich?? he was their crown prince! industrialists all around the world, especially in the usa, praised him for getting the country in shape and turning the people in a docile submissive workforce.
Nazis came to power & spent huge sums on make-work projects vastly expanding the national debt - sound familiar? The Hitler fan club was entirely made up of weapons makers & related industries it only lasted a few years. Privately owned business suffered ruinous taxes. Government czars mandated production quotas. He was loved for brining order to the chaos by taking everyone's freedom - later there were 41 plots on his life - now people like you hurl him around as an insult.
not at all weapon makers only, bankers - bscly. the entire power nobility - and their problem later was certainly not that he took peoples freedoms, america only narrowly escaped a fascist overthrow of its own

What a sell-out, enjoy the GOP you traitor. In case you forgot, it's the GOP who contributed to you being without a homeland by helping the zionists who are killing your brothers everyday. What a shame, be happy with your brothers, Chalabi and Rushdi, ......
You must have missed what he said about how badly he was treated in Kuwait. The Palestinians' situation isn't the fault of the GOP, the US, or Israel. The Palestinians have been sold out by the Arab governments that teach hatred and finance terrorism to keep themselves in power. You see the world exactly as they want you to.
The same GOP, the US and Israel support these regimes who are oppressing us and selling the Palestinians. I know that you know that your politics are hypocrite because you ask for democracy and when Hamas won democratically all of you turned against the people of Palestine and forced a siege on them to starve them to death. We need one thing from you, not to get involved in our lives. That's all we need.
Perhaps we are hypocrites for supporting regimes that oppress their people, as you say, but almost the whole world, not just the U.S., refuses to recognize Hamas, because of its declared purpose to destroy Israel.
The Palestinians elected Hamas, knowing its goal. Unfortuantely, the Palestinians' choice of leadership is limited, because all Palestinian leaders who wanted to make peace with Israel were murdered by Yasser Arafat 30 years ago.
The U.S. saved the lives of many Muslims in Kosovo. We have lost many lives and spent enormous sums to relieve Iraq of a brutal tyrant who murdered children simply to exercise his power to do so; whose son sent his men to college campuses to pick out women students for him to rape. Would you prefer that the U.S. not have gotten involved?
yeah after "you" had given him weapons and order to start a desastrous war and watched him letting hundreds of thousands of people starve, saddam hussein is a creature of america, but your main misconception is that "you" are the nation and that there is a nation, its the wealthy ruling elite using your kids for their purposes, almost all of americas wars were class wars rich against poor, and obviously they still do a great job of selling the bullshit to you

After listening to Adnans' speech and having been there to listen to the others one can sum Adnan's speech by saying McDonell who, Hannity who? Watch the crowd and the people at the table behind him. Adnan will indeed go far and he is for real. Fellow Republicans (Steele, et al)....this is who we should be looking for in the party and what a leader could look like.
I was there to see this in person as well. At first I was listening just like I had been all day . . . but by about 5 minutes in he had my full attention - this was by far one of the best speeches of the convention. Make sure you watch part two, that is the part with the best lines of the speech.
I was amazed when he spoke! Unlike the vast majority of boring Yada Yada speakers this guy spoke from his heart. This is the guy that should have been nominated for office!!! He gets it!!
Adnan's remarks were easily the best of the convention. His was absolutely the best political speech I've heard since Ronald Reagan began his sad Alzheimer's journey. This young man has a great future - and so do we! Michael Steele take note! Adnan can help pull the party into the 21st Century...
I saw this awe inspiring young man in person yesterday. This young man makes Obama's oratorical skills look bad by having to read a teleprompter to give a speech. Adnan delivered his speech using a teleprompter and spoke from his heart. He is truly inspirational.
Follow-up to my comment above. I now know Adnan personally. I can personally testify that Adnan does not use a teleprompter. He speaks with passion and from the heart. I can say that his "Impossible Is Nothing" speech or modified forms of it have been delivered several times since the Convention. He is a smart young man and knows how to deliver a speech without using any teleprompters. Its called practice, practice, practice!
thank you so much for posting this. i've put it on my facebook for all to see. his speach moved me to tears. tears of pride. this young man gets it and it was so very refreshing. i got to shake his hand afterwards and hug his mom who looked so very, very proud. may God bless this young man who has a very bright future!
I witnessed this speech in person and was overcome by the depth of understanding and keen perception of such a young man. This should be required viewing for all youth.

I witnessed this speech in person and was overcome by the depth of understanding and keen perception of such a young man. This should be required viewing for all youth.
