  • Brian Setzer does a good remake but doesn't quite have the same degree of jumpin' beans as this Latino!

  • 100th favourited video. No regrets.

  • Used to love to dance to this stuff and, I can STILL jump & jive on da dance floor

Gotta find me a hot chick can still J&J with me

  • THIS SONG IS AWESOME!

  • I love this song <3

  • @EBarbossa i to

  • Reminds me back in the days in New Orleans.

  • When will people just shut up and appreciate music, how can you say you like the stuff if you say everything except what you listen to is shit... MAKES NO SENSE... Man you guys just can't handle the music

  • this is shit (N)

  • Love it!!!!

  • OMG we played this song for jazz band. It's such a fun song to play! I just couldn't wait to tear up the piano to this song :D

  • But honestly I'd like ta see the new school kids of Hip Hop/rap, with real tallent, use this beat and music to make somethin timeless as well. Maybe someday

  • THIS SONG IS TIMELESSLY GOOD!!!!! NUF SAID!!!!

  • Music is not as good today as it was back in the good ol' days.

How I love music as this. <3

  • fantastic HAPPY music

  • i love this song.. even though i do love punk music as well ;D check out the adicts ooooor the peacock oooor the buzzcocks ;)

but i don't like hip hop or auto tuning... lmao

  • Some good old real music!

  • thumbs up if u can jump jive an' wail

  • Wonderful. I love the comment about Auto Tune listening morons. They won't notice this anyway. IF they're not punk they're listening to Abba.

  • 690am Ciudad de México, Ondas del lago... la única emisora de radio que programaba estas joyas... que pena.

  • Baby, baby, it looks like it's gonna hail!

  • This truly is a classic.

  • Comment removed

  • 8 people dont know how to jump jive an' wail

  • I feel bad that I only knew the remake by Brian Setzer all my life :/ sooo much better! Mind. Blown.

  • Best. Song. Ever.

  • Time will tell what is dead and what is not .Some music may be top 40 today and forgotten in a few years . My moneys on this kinda tune staying under the radar but sticking around

  • 8 people are icky

  • Agreed, I love Setzer, but this version is superior in vocals, instruments and everything else. No comparison!!

  • @TheBluesmanz haha.

  • What ever happened to this kind of music? I'm only just finding out about it and it's been dead for decades.

  • @MLZHftw Hey man, its not dead! I play trombone in a band that does this song, among others. I found this recording because I have to learn to sing it! Woo hoo!

  • @JanieMartinSings Oops, I posted under "JanieMartinSings", but this is my personal account "petwir".

  • @JanieMartinSings but it's not really big. You wouldn't see this stuff in a top 40. I don't know anyone who listens to this stuff. There may be a few people who do but it's basically dead.

  • Way better that the Brian setzer rendition

  • Grew up with this music and still love it. When it gets popular again I'll be a happy camper. Brian Setzer rocks with this number.

  • early rock n roll?

  • @doggieman1961 Not really....just brass swing with lots of boogie woogie influence. Original rock n roll was pretty much the same.

  • Khaki's swing!

  • I love this song

  • 8 people can't jump, jive or wail...

  • o: i have 2 play this in band xD

  • Try Louie's Pennies from Heaven...excellent!

  • 8 people thought Brian Setzer wrote this song...

  • this song is just one of those songs that you just can't resist jamming to

  • if you dont like this, YOUR'E FUCKIN GAY

  • I have to play the trumpet part YAY!

    GREAT SONG!!!

  • Lmao, maybe I should read other posts before posting, not just the top comments.

  • @ YoSoyOnce , It's eight now and I know a whole mess of people who have no rhythm. Those eight are just mad they can't jump, jive, an' wail.

  • Thank you, Brian Setzer :D

  • OMG this guy COOKS. Those accents are too cool, and Keely's voice is so great.

  • man, I was born way too late.

  • 8 people don't know how to Jump Jive an' Wail!

  • If your foot or some other part of your body isn't moving to this song; check your pulse.

  • 8 people disliked this. 8 people are morons.

  • I love Louis Prima and Keely Smith, and just bought the new dvd 'Louis Prima in Person'. He was well known for being the late night act all the bigger stars caught after their own Las Vegas Shows.

  • Khaki's swing!

  • How could anyone "dislike" Louis Prima?!

  • これが、原曲なのか?

    う〜ん、気持ち良い(^^)/

  • Oh man, what a beat...

  • im doing this song for my schools jazz band

  • @guitardouche666 omg same!

  • Awesome !!!!

  • Damn this cat could swing!!!

  • He was closer to the rock n rollers of the time, than sinatra or Martin. I think he may have had a significant role in the path that led to Rock n Roll! He was before my time, (born 1955) but I'm pretty sure in my theory - so 'hip' you know

  • So I suppose those who didn't like this song are some punk ass Hip Hop loving Auto Tune listening morons :)

  • @61Sedgefield100 actually no i love good rap. but were not here to discuss that genre and its failings

  • @61Sedgefield100 Rebecca Black comes to mind...

  • @61Sedgefield100 They do NOT know how to jump, jive OR wail, the poor darlings

  • @61Sedgefield100 ERM i like this song ;)!!! i like hip hop/rap =O but mostly oldschool, autotune pisses me off and is annoying and its for ppl who cant sing worth shit =P.

classy song ;) *does hiptwist*! ;)

  • The Classics will never die!!!

Long live the past when things were Grand.

  • got damn i love this music!

  • One of Louis's masterpieces. Wish I knew who played the piano solo -- sounds like something Brubeck would do.

  • I listen to death metal yet I love this.

  • omg we have to dance to this song at school for music class 0.0 and kids in my class were saying "ooh you gotta drunk drive" instead of"jump jive" ahaha

  • @tabitha2340

sorry but i guess kids see it for real... opposite the icebox etc........GL

  • @Cesspit7 XD

  • @tabitha2340 lol:)

  • sorry for the double, but ye know their coming along.

  • drunk driving then wail... next time i steal a car and trash the town this is it

not to mention jack and jill on pills....

  • FREAKING. AMAZING. SWING. SONG.

Definitely one of the funnest to dance to ^_^

  • It sounds like "drunk driven' then you gota wail"

  • Louis Prima also did the monkey scene for Jungle Book. He has a lot of good, hoppin' beats!!

  • 8 people f*cked up and hit the dislike button by accident. Improve your mouse handling skills, people!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Man is this contagious or WHAT?

You gotta get up from the computer

and BEE BOP AROUND THE PLACE!

Play this in a cemetery and the dead

folks would have to get up and JIVE!

  • Louis Prima was way ahead of his time. Brian Setzer's only had a few minor adjustments and was a hit in the 90s.

  • lovely jive :)

  • wooooow lets switch lou prima for--lady gaga, ashlee simpson and all the fuckin idol winners

  • truly the king of swing.. Benny Goodman was know as the king of swing after he performed Sing Sing Sing in carnige hall.. little do people know Sing Sing Sing was Louie prima's composition .. Damn he was Good

  • baby baby it looks like its gonna hail, you better come inside let me teach you how to jive MY wail

  • 7 ppl got no rhythm

  • @YoSoyOnce It's 8 now buddy....

  • @YoSoyOnce make that 8....

  • @YoSoyOnce aint that the truth? -dances out of the room-

  • In love.

  • Just great stuff!!

  • 7 people did'nt jump jive and wail !!!

  • I Love this, but its wierd because i also like stuff like dubstep. oh well, at least i dont listen to most of this pop mainstream crap.

  • Makes me jump jive and wail

  • This is a true testament to the original big band format musicians and composers. Brian Setzer did a nice job but it certainly does not contain the swing or syncopation that this does. Louis Prima had great taste. It's very difficult to channel that again. Music changes and when it does I don't believe it should regress. This is a portrait of a time that passed decades ago.

  • He was the man, still hold's court at my house on old records found in my grandparents garage

  • My friends make fun of me because I like this kind of music >:|

Really I should be making fun of them for listening to all this manufactured shit! :)

  • im 18 and i love this shit. im so glad my dad introduced me to this stuff when i was little. i work at a diner where alotta older people eat at and i love that i can relate to them because i like the same music they do.

  • My father-in-law and MOL danced to Louis Prima,Keely Smith and Louis' Group at the Log Cabin on route 9W in Englewood Cliffs, NJ back in the 40's. I have a photo of my wife's parents with Louis and Keely. What a group. I met Sam Butera at the Orleans Hotel in LV about 1999 and he was still blowing a mean horn.

They're all gone now but their music lives on.

  • i wish we had music like this today, so good.

  • Much respect to Louis Prima....but Brian Setzer's version is VASTLY superior.

The added bass and background jazz gives it more smack.

  • @Joelomite Ohhhhh cummmon....Louie wrote it for Gods sake!!! Ya gotta respect the master, all that follows can only be second best, especially consideriring Brian was paying homage!

  • @scottlarson925, I said I gave Prima's version respect! I just said that Brian Setzer took something great and made it fantastic. Didn't mean to sound like I was dissing the original...

  • This was not "punk". This is Boogie Woogie.

  • i always get up and east coast swing to this one every time

  • Comment removed

  • i was born in the wrong era

  • @bewarethemoose1 me too

  • Justin Bieber ain't got nothing on Louis Prima!

  • Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    Thank you

    The Sax is Priceless

  • Ahhh, its like taking a breath of fresh air by the coast after youve been in a city filled with shit music.

  • All of Sam Butera's crew are outstanding musicians. The trombone player was just great. A wild bunch. Louie,(could play that trumpet),Keely,(sang like a bird), Sam and the Witnesses were the hot group in Las Vegas during the '50's and 60's.

  • The Great Louis Prima and Sam Butara on Sax! Those Cool Cats knew how to Swing.

  • my high school band plays this song i play bass guitar and this song is fun to play

  • one thing better then listening to this is dancing to it!

  • I'm going to see Suffocation, Decrepit Birth, The Faceless, Through the Eyes of the Dead, and FleshGod Apocalypse in 2 weeks, and I'm listening to this. I'm awesome.

  • @jk47hm4

  • Cool sax, but not as cool as Louis and Keely.

  • i dislike the dislikes on this video!! :O

  • @blsetokyba I agree!

  • @desertphilip xD it is sad that it has dislikes!!

  • alot of young people thought brian seltzer did this song like alot of people thought just a Gigilo was done by david Lee roth (louie prima0 who also wrote and performed Sing Sing Sing and wrote sunday kind of love made real popular by the harptones dood wop group...Louie WAS the wildest and greatest every thing he does is better than anyone else..check out that old black magic by him then check out sammy davis version (sammmy was grea)t BUT Louie blows him away!

  • @hardsly agreed man ive been listing to Louie secene i was born in 1992 lol my great grandpa went to school with Louie and was friends with him till his death in 78

  • @anthonynami2 That was an epic era; musical history was written then. Bless.

  • why cant you hear music like this on fm radio i feel like i should drink coke out of a glass bottle and its just not the 50 or 60s if were not fearing nuclear destruction

  • why cant you hear music like this on fm radio i feel like i should drink coke out of a glass bottle

  • "goosebumps" great song!

  • LOL how are there dislikes on this?

  • @joeevil people don't know good music when they hear it sometimes.

  • And here I thought the version by the Brian Setzer Orchestra was an original! Turns out it was just a cover. Oh well, at least it got people swing dancing in the 90s.

  • @daysleeper236 Most of his songs were covers but that was the beauty of his second album. Without him, would you have heard the original? Probably not.

  • i heard this in the grocery store today XD

  • I wish Lived in those days : ( But then again the 80's were ok.

  • Amazing:))

    Let's dance:))

  • AAAAAAAAAA whenever this was played at bar mitzvahs my dad and i OWNED the floor EVERY time becuase we did that under-the-leg and jump back up thing and we were soooooo legit. people always tried to copy us and fell on their butts. we won dance contests all the time. ahhh good times :D

  • this is way better than that stupid rap music!!!!!!!! i wish that all the music that is popular was like this and the singers had talent !!!!!!!!!!!!!! cough* kesha* cough!!!

  • @888tho no doubt. Great stuff.

  • we love that tune :-)))

  • flinging myself around the PC great stuff !!!

  • its got life--can u hear--wooooooo

  • Classic. This music will live forever.

  • Amazing!

  • Is he the voice for King Louis?

  • @Trojanbabe88 Yep! In fact, the whole scene with King Louis was based on Prima and his stage act. How the King walks around as he sings, his dance style...all of it. And it was wonderful!!!

  • @Trojanbabe88 Yes.

  • This is just exactly the same original version which in turn was used and heard in The Gap`s khaki jeans commercial which in turn inspired ex-Stray Cats frontperson Brian Setzer & his swing revival orchestra to do their rendition!

  • My school played this! Was the BEST out of all the songs we played!!

  • love this song...good on Louis for this great piece of jive n rock! jazz!

Sure makes me want to ......

  • We did this on my port maqcuarie, i played bass. i love this song!!

  • Where learning this in Chorus, and I'll tell you one thing (maybe 2) Its a VERY Catchy song, and its makes you very jumpy!! hehe :)

  • man how can you not love this ..this swings like crazy!

  • Sinatra said: "He's the Wildest!" What more can I say.

  • (^∀^) joyful.

  • My School Had To Sing This Song Epic! We Sound Crap Compared To This0_o

  • too tuff....

so sorry to hear the great sax player with louie for his most remembered years, sam butera,. passed away...

    man what a talent!!

  • My school's jazz band is playing this! I get an epic drum solo!

  • So glad they included Louis in the first episode of Treme. Prima one of many great musicians from New Orleans.

  • They played this song at my big sister's wedding to her now ex-husband in memory of our dad! I barely remember that wedding (I was only 6 years old), but I remember that my sister's stepfather started to dance with me to this song haha.

  • when i hear this ,its swings its jive ,i have one number of this great person,

its 5 months,2weeks,2 days /Morris/Donaldson write this song and Music.Capitol Records Hollywood

  • Brian Setzer improved on it. Multi-track mixing, stereo recording, etc. etc. He would have nothing to play if Louis Prima didn't write the original and perform it.

  • 2:53 - 3:19 !!!!!!!

  • re: The T V celeratory accolades about the New Orleans Super Bowl win- Not once did I hear that Louie Prima was born there or I missed it..Their TV people did talk about all sorts of mundane things After all, he was the composer of the ever famously played song -Sing Sing Sing.

  • What a group. Just where are these kinds of musicians and music today ? I guess never will there be the likes of Louie and his group. That sax man and trombone player are both out of site!
