This is a true testament to the original big band format musicians and composers. Brian Setzer did a nice job but it certainly does not contain the swing or syncopation that this does. Louis Prima had great taste. It's very difficult to channel that again. Music changes and when it does I don't believe it should regress. This is a portrait of a time that passed decades ago.

My father-in-law and MOL danced to Louis Prima,Keely Smith and Louis' Group at the Log Cabin on route 9W in Englewood Cliffs, NJ back in the 40's. I have a photo of my wife's parents with Louis and Keely. What a group. I met Sam Butera at the Orleans Hotel in LV about 1999 and he was still blowing a mean horn.

They're all gone now but their music lives on.
