  • @grantscharoff Have a great time and thank you for watching :) William

  • wow us brits have all the best and originals, no wonder london is so crowded.

  • @british123able

It's amazing what you can collect when you don't give a shit about the country of origin. Basically England stole 90 percent of their artifacts.

  • @JamesThWilliams Where are you from?? I take it your ancestors didnt steal the country you live in. Hypocrite. We have a word for you and its what we would call a Paki

  • Thanks for watching :)

  • I hope your insinuation is not some Liberal diatribe to the "exploitation" of nations.Who do you think rounds up the worlds great discoveries when their discarded?.When Iraq was invaded the first thing was to let the criminals loose so they can loot the worlds greatest artifac......Egypt and grave robbers Wah-Wah-Wahhh!.

  • Thank you for having the consideration to do this.

Many people for one reason or another are unable to visit.

  • ah yes.. I vividly remember 6:46

  • Me too :)

  • Guys, I appreciate that there two sides to this debate which are both very passionate. The intention of this video is not to have a debate over the Elgin Marbles. This video is about showing people the British Museum. I appreciate that it is an important debate and I thank you all for commenting but as pitsinokaki rightly says I did not upload this for this kind of discussion. Many thanks.

  • Here we go again... I'll answer you in your channel MyRadko, I understand that kensington25 did not upload this video for this kind of discussion.

  • Well done that is the most pathetic excuse I have ever encountered, they might have utterly bitchslapped you and took half your island though at least you won on numbers hahahahaha that is pathetic! With excuses like that it is little wonder why the turks were able to sell the marbles to the British in the first place. I am glad I know enough about history to make you have to come up with such shitty excuses to defend yourself, do not try to mock me you idiot.

  • And you always forget the contribution of a small nation such as greeks in WWII. We beat the Italian fascists, held hitler for two months and whopped german ass in the battle of Crete. You give no credit for that british shit

  • You know what, hadnt we hold the Ottomans for many years you would be muslims by now. Only the fear of turks made you help our small nation. Especially the siege of Vienna. Drachma is the oldest coin in Europe, and by the way we have Euros now silly brit

  • I know you I have euros now, that is why I said used to be, you silly retard. Did the greeks help out in the siege of Vienna? Why have you even mentioned it? I believe it was the holy roman empire who defeated the turks, before western Europe started to push them back, the greeks played no part in it, they had already been the slaves of the turks for over 100 years.

  • Went there for the first time yesterday the egyptian stuff was my favourite :D

  • I love the Egyptian room too :)

  • show us your pride and return ALL artifacts from Britain in Greece cause those belong to Greeks , show us your respect for our civilization by making it possible for us to visit the marbles of PARTHENON in Greece - the place who created them and own them. I have only see them from videos and photos , how should i feel about this?only shame for you! , you only show how to loot and steal , this is not something any human being should be proud of......

  • Thank you for sharing your opinion. Be good to hear what others think :)

  • I think the rude and condescending way you react to people is one of the many reasons why the people of Britain have no goodwill towards the Greeks on this issue whatsoever, its a shame really. I do not claim to be a diplomatic genius though generally speaking if I want something from someone that they have absolutely no legal obligation to give me I generally do not open the discourse with a tirade of condescending bullshit, that is something the Greek people and their diplomats need to learn.

  • if you find my comments rude its more than fine from my side , i didnt expect any less from you - something that is "legal" is not moral . You have no idea how greeks feel about the robbery - destruction of their national treasure , be in my shoes then try to preach me about how should i feel and generally express my thoughts

  • You cannot break a monument apart just to have something to be proud of in your collection. Imagine the Statue of Liberty with the torch being in a separate place...It would be outrageous!

  • I think it is called the British museum because it is in Britain? it is one of the most important cultural institution in global history you can go there and learn about the whole of human history. Should the collection be split up to please a few silly people who are upset about their ancestors selling the family silver? hmmm no I dont think so.

  • You make a fatal mistake when you speak about greeks . those artifacts inside brittish museum are STOLEN , greece was under occupation these times when you "bought" them - even Sultan never given permition to loot the marbles of PARTHENON so try something smarter next time. Same thing had happened to modern days in IRAQ , many national treasures have been looted because of the instability of the country and i expect to see them soon inside british "museum"

  • very good , from Brazil

  • Thank you so much.

  • Went there today, and although I really enjoyed it, when I come out I wondered why it was called "British Museum" and not "International Museum". I didn't learn anything about Britain, but I learned lots about Russian, Iran, Turkey, Poland, Africa, China and so on.....wtf?

  • That is a very good point. Glad you enjoyed it :)

  • This is great I'm visiting the British Museum in a matter of weeks, I can't wait :D

  • I went there, my dad found a roman bowl and its in there! :)

  • That's brilliant. It is a fascinating museum.

  • Yep i like the mummies .. i went there when i was staying in london before goin to france my dad rerly wanted to see his bowl hehe

  • The "Silent Pedagogy" there is somewhat not desirable... But an impressive collection.

  • I like the mummies room, I found that really interested. Also the bog man was quite cool. Very well done, and great voice. I haven't been there in over ten years. I need to go back soon.

  • Thanks so much. It really is a fascinating place. So much history :)

  • Sorry to be nosey, but are you actually from Australia because you're accent sounds british to me. I know Australian/British can sound similarish at times. But I thought you were British till I read on you're profile you're not. Nosey monkey aint I. There are quite a lot of other museums up London, and London has some great old architecture too view. It's a shame I live 10minutes from central London, but never go. When you are close to something you just take it for granted

  • Hi there and good question. I am from London but have lived in Australia for the past couple of years or so. London has some excellent museums and it is now that I am really appreciating them :)

  • museums are made to show the local civilization , but hey britany before few hundrend years didnt have any! this is i call british pride - be the best on how to steal , shame on you and your "museum"

  • Thank you. You're welcome.

  • whatever makes you happy

  • almost 100 rooms...and only 2 for "Britain" ...is it a British Museum???? R u sure?

  • Sure is and what an amazing place :)

  • for the last 2000 years greece has not had any civilization, who is currently the worse off?

  • wrong! Greece until 1453 a.C. had an empire - also about who is currently the worse off as you say - think of it a little , Greece didnt get influenced by UK civilization i think its the other way - even in your language a huge amount of greek words are inside..... and i am becoming to believe that this hurts you a lot

  • @hoggg11 I think you have a bit of an inferiority complex. Why should you think that it hurts someone that Greece influenced the UK?

  • @alanheath hi . I said back then that it "hurt you" because for some strange reason some UK ppl indeed have that inferiority complex . I prove my claims through the users comments . It wasnt me who mentioned "who is currently the worse off" or any other kind of comparison between UK and Greece , so my comments back then definitely dont justify your statement but the other way around . I had only anger after watching looted semi-destroyed national treasures .

  • half of the stuff belongs to ancient Mesopotamia (Iraq).

  • wow! lots of people around.....thanx for sharing if i get to london will have to visit! ur got such a great voice for documentary's! xjoeyx

  • wheres the titanic things hehe, great work m8t

  • Sadly I didn't get a chance to stop at the museum when I was in London, gives me an excuse to go back. Thanks for the vid William.

  • Thank and I know the feeling :) William

  • Thank you for giving me something to watch other than Olympic tit-bits.
