you may not have liked his letter, but there is a huge difference between the girl from UCLA and this guy. one was clearly making a statement - whether it be satire or shock -- and the other was going off on a rant. i can see how someone could easily be offended, or even annoyed; however, to take his words literally is almost laughable in itself. I mean, there were whole passages of him stereotyping and making fun of American culture. Like the letter or not, don't make him spell it out for you
I used to go to CSULB and I had to deal with the same bullshit. A bunch of Sociology and Psychology professors started this bizarre agenda that: "Asians are ruining America. They should not admit anymore because there are too many. Asians should be cutoff from financial aid or resources even if they make less than 30k a year. Asians come to this country to take the benefits away from Blacks and Latinos. They are the oppressors!"
And the worst thing was that a ton of students bought into it.
@katerigg1 I believe that the letter is real, but the author really expected people to take him seriously? Like...maybe the letter was making a statement about racist feelings?
@astmapiippu First off, your missing the point. She's SATIRIZING a specific person(who is blond, has a southern accent and is a member of a sorority)who was responding to Asian stereotyping and supposedly defending 'asians'....and at the same time reinforcing those stereotypes. Kate Rigg is actually a prominent comedian and spoken word artist who deals with the subject of race, particularly 'Asian' stereotypes. So calling her a racist is little ridiculous. Check out her other videos, she's great!
I missed this whole Colorado thing. Fucking pathetic.
I think the reason the Alexandra thing blew up so fast, is due to the iphones, twitter, and Wallace's breasticles hangin out in plain view. Maybe is she read the Max's piece out loud, it would get attention again.
OMG This is a fucken hilarious. I want to capture Asians with a butterfly net lol. BTW I'm Asian. hahahaha
