Anyway even while I am mostly using solaris and linux these days, I hail windows completeness,finish,ease of use among other things(like documentation). And I like Bill Gates as much as Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs, Richard Stallman and Linus Torvalds. They all are different , but all of them are zero cool :)

That's why your computing experence is so bad is because the crap you get. I've also used Fedora Core 6, Debian, DSL, and Gentoo so don't say I've used a slow distro before unless you know what your talking about...in which case, you shouldn't even be talking about slow distros and that crap.

They do show some speed increase but that's only because Linux has special kernels for the certian processor. Windows just has some generic kernel that will run on virtually every 32 or 64 bit processor.

What distros have you used? I know they are usually more effecent. Ubuntu with Firefox open is taking 207 MB of RAM. With XP and Firefox open, it takes around 250 MB to 300 MB of RAM...woopdiedoo.

Without Firefox I usually run between 100 MB and 150 MB of RAM...can't say anything bad with that. With XP it ranged from 200 MB to 300 MB of RAM...how can you say sorry for that. I mean yeah, it's more effecent but by a bit. Sure it will be faster than Windows but does Windows let you select a kernel specially made for your processor? No...this is why Windows seems a few seconds slower than OS X or GNU + Linux/Unix.

We have macs at our school, and i gota be honest with you.
