I've watched this clip so many times because your response to the horse is so right. That horse was questioning, challenging, but in the end it was not a defeated horse. What a sane and humane way to convince a horse to let us ride him. Your methods - and skills - are so inspiring. Keep throwing videos at us please.
Hey Paul, doing the do again. Shame the music´s cut, ´cos for sure it was fitting and amusing! Tech question - what prog do you use to speed up or slow motion? I got mac wit imovie 8 - no can do! Scuse my cheek, but u one of the good guys. ;-)
Fantastic as ever. One day I'll be able to sit as secure as that.. >:3
I see you're running around in snow (took me a while to figure out what all that white stuff was). When we take our mob in at work when there's snow their feet are always packed with the stuff, some of them can hardly walk 'cause of it. Did that happen to this fella?
Wonderful to see that horse accept you aboard and then smooth out - gorgeous animal. You have a pretty interesting life, Paul. Thanks for sharing with us.
If only your patience and talent could be bottled up and sold!! A lovely film showing how to let the horse be a horse, and yet accept the rider - and a rider with unparalleled skill and understanding.
I miss the audio, though - can you put the narration back without the music?
I likee a lot!! Cute Baby just wanted to play. Just wondering how long you rode him for real time before he chilled? Oh!, and I can't remember where I left my superglue butt, haven't seen it for about 10yrs, got any spares?? ;D
Merry Christmas to you Paul and yours! Thanks for the video, you tricked me at first. I did think he was being naughty and as he settled in I thought better of it.Fun video!!!
Endo, Your lucky your married!! If my Mom watched this video with that song and you sticking it on that horse she would be all over you like clueless on a carrot stick!!
Great job!! Always love your ability to put the horse's nature first and work with that not against it.
Awesome awesome awesome. I am going to call you the awesome aussie. I love seeing the different characteristics of the horses you ride. You had some pretty easy going ones but this one seemed to be a bit fresh. You handled it without letting him escalate into something bigger. You didn't fight with him either. You kept after him until you got what you were asking and left him alone once he got it. You are just awesome. O.k don't let your head get to big now.
my horse was acting a little like that last weekend, it was windy as anything, and she was in danger of kicking other people in the head so i had to get off and walk her the rest of the way :( haha 15yr old, great with even the worst rider, but she loves going fast and if she knows a rider can stick it, she'll fight to run.
LOL. Now if only I could ride like you do. ;) Bear in mind, the round pen is a great place to work out that freshness, when you can't outride the freshness. And some of us can't outride the reeeeeeeally fresh ones. :D
to the doubters-- pssh, u try this!! Paul you are my hero!! yur as real as they gt my friend, thanks for another real View of horsemanship.. thanks..:)
well done endo, he came good as soon as he figured out no the shadows not a big hole, and no its not something on the ground that could bite me! what a cheeky bugger! 5/5 from me!
I sure hope you never quit making videos, you're an amazing trainer and rider. Everyone should be as patient and understanding as you when working with horses. Thanks!
Great video Endo! That colt came out of there saying, 'YIPPEE! Look at the SNOW. This cool breeze feels GOOD. Let's GO all ready!'
Hehehe!
Think that's where the expression 'high tailing it' comes from? LOL!
You are so right. A rider can't blame a fresh horse for having those 'feel good moments'. Horses got to start somewhere and they won't become seasoned horses standing in a stall.
5 STARS and adding to my faves (of course).
Love it...keep the vids coming Master Paul-san. YEEWAW! :~)
I have a horse that is very fresh all the time, and relatively green. The roundpen doesn't seem to make her any less energetic, it almost makes her angry.lol. Great vid, that horse is beautiful to watch.
what a fresh horse. the tail is al over the place. great jobb as always- very good clip, i'll take that with me, for when i have a fresh horse.usually we just trot, but this looks much mor logic and better. vi are the boss:D
