Oh yeah, I totally agree! It is much easier to play and makes hard songs suddenly much more able to learn and play.

But still, you got to admit, it looks so cool when you see someone playing barre chords.

Not really, I don't use a capo to make anything easier, I just love the sound of open chords. I play plenty of songs with barre chords, but they just don't have as nice an acoustic sound. Thats just my opinion though, and it comes out in my style.

They sound exactly the same. An F chord would sound exactly the same as an E with a capo on the first. Capos are really just used to alter the key of a song iof your voice is higher/lower or for a different way to play it and avoid awkward chords such as Eb or Bb.

Like you said anyway, its just how you prefer to play the song.

Yeah I know what you mean - a proper cover, with a personal interpretation. Well I think there's merit in both ways, and tbh when I was doing this I just thought the way Gary sings it is great - thats what makes the song, so it would have seemed a bit empty to me without that style.

I do do my own interpretations of songs though - take a look at my version of Toxic, for example, (seems like a bad move but see what I've done with it). Cheers
