aight,im sure youve heard ths alot. im either getting a sc10,e firestorm,or a rc10t4. i know they are all goreat cars, but could you tell me what would be one of the best for the track? im usually driving 1/8 scales in the desert or so and am trying ot get back into the sport.oh and should i get the e firestorm and put a mamba in it? r get the flux?
@NITRO9192 sorry to say but that is misleading say for instance you are talking about the rc in the vid it is brushless and most likely was on 2s and well on 3s lipo I would say 60mph isn't out of the question so it is more of a question do you want speed, reliability, ease of use, or do you want noisy underpowered(in comparison) and completely unreliable unless you are a god at tuning is more like it
@masterzun15 flux all the way it will outrun a nitro any day seeing as it is a mamba max powering it then it is capable of insane speeds and massive torque unless you're a nitro head (no offense meant to you) I would recommend the electric but remember to get some lipo's insane runtime and power
I was told by a few pro that using 3S with the flux would only be usefull for going straight, the increased speed would make the car hardly controllable, can you confirm ?
Have you ever used the flux with 2s lipo ? if so, what was the difference in handling ?
@DarthWater7 but you need to start checking things like whether the motor will burn out if you start messing with gears. Smaller pinion=less acceleration and vice verse
300€ for the brushless Flux version? You should definetely consider buying it then.
I don't know what is the top speed of the Firestorm Flux, it depends from the battery used ofcourse. The brushless Flux systems are made by Castle Creations (Motiv = Sidewinder).
how much does it run??? I am very interested to buy one!!! What about the batteries??? how long the batteries (15-20 minutes)???? thank you in advance!!!!
With brushless motor, 11.1V lipo and proper gearing it should do atleast 70km/h, but the top speed is not important if you are driving off-road conditions.
Stock E-Firestorm (brushed one) might do around 40km/h.
Dunno about NiMH's but with 8000mAh LiPo you can get around 40 minutes of driving time.
can you run 1 lipo pack in one time without overheating it?
and, i'm looking for a good lipo battery for in my e-firestorm but which ones will fit and which ones won't? I was looking @ maxamps but dunno wich one to pick
The Mamba doesn't get hot, but the motor does. I'm currently running this car with Sidewinder 4600 combo and it has the same problems (with 3S). I've tried with different gearing also, but not much changed with the temps.
Almost any battery will fit, even the 8000mAh 3S. You'll just have to mount it to the foremost part of the battery bay and use some battery straps instead of the stock battery holder to keep it in place.
I borrowed Mamba ESC and Lehner Basic 5300 motor from my E-Jato. It's only temporary until I'll get the Sidewinder 4600 combo that I ordered for Firestorm.
I like them both a lot, Firestorm is darn good car in it's class and I would've loved to keep it for myself. My friend was pretty fed up with his Speed-T breaking all the time so he took my Firestorm from me... :)
When I sold my Jato also it was time get something new and Slash was just there.
Haven't actually driven the 8000mAh pack to cut-off yet. When this (and the jump clip) was shot, I was driving for about 20-25 minutes. Charged the pack today and it took 4105mAh to full.

What would the runtime be for the 2wd flux if i were to use a 11.4 4500mah 30c lipo battery?
Thnx for the recomendation :D
masterzun15 2 years ago
I don't have one of my own but I would imagine about 20-30 min as a conservative guess

If you mean what comes with the FIrestorm Flux, the no - it's not the standard set. Motor and ESC were purchased separately from different stores.

and does 3s lipo allow slow acceleration and slow driving ?
kilimats02 2 years ago
I was told by a few pro that using 3S with the flux would only be usefull for going straight, the increased speed would make the car hardly controllable, can you confirm ?
Have you ever used the flux with 2s lipo ? if so, what was the difference in handling ?
kilimats02 2 years ago
Pretty much correct. 3S is so much power that the car becomes very difficult to drive. Too much wheelies isn't so good even if it may look cool.
Ofcourse everything depends from the finger that controls the throttle... :)
finbilly 2 years ago
whats the spur and pinion gear size?
kyle1wth 3 years ago
Spur was 87t and if I remember correctly the pinion was 15t.
finbilly 3 years ago
what makes the car faster?
smaller pinion gear?and bigger spur gear?
DarthWater7 2 years ago
BIgger pinion and/or smaller spur makes the car go faster when only adjusting the gears.
finbilly 2 years ago
the cons are slower acceleration. i think.
20spray 2 years ago
@DarthWater7 but you need to start checking things like whether the motor will burn out if you start messing with gears. Smaller pinion=less acceleration and vice verse

I can't answer that because I didn't drive it stock at all. Maybe around 27mph tops, depending from the battery used ofcourse.

Mine is all stock.
Im using a 7.2V 3600mAh battery.
My reaches about 25-30mph on road

Does the mamba max overheat with 3s lipo?
can you run 1 lipo pack in one time without overheating it?

how much mah do you need on a 5700khz brussless to get a 1hr half of time or is that impossible.
P.S nice bashing very good!!
hobbiefreak 3 years ago
It's not impossible - 8000mAh should be pretty close to 1 hour of runtime, depending from your driving style ofcourse.
finbilly 3 years ago

I borrowed Mamba ESC and Lehner Basic 5300 motor from my E-Jato. It's only temporary until I'll get the Sidewinder 4600 combo that I ordered for Firestorm.
