It's an entire potato, fried, on a stick. Is there anything more American than that? I know the Original Tornado Fries sell their own machine, but there are alternatives if you want to make this at home (or at a concession stand or as a street vendor). The Nemco Spiral Fry Potato Cutter comes to mind.
