I'm happy with the smaller size. Browsing and watching movies is better on bigger screen but yet...smaller size fits better in your pocket. And it's a MOBILE device after all :) and it looks funny making a phone call with a 5+ inch device :D :D
Won't be saying anything bad for other products because there are lots of great devices out there. but n900 is one beautiful peace of technology and I'm happy with mine.
My mobile phone DOES NOT HAVE COLOR SCREEN, and i have not shown ANY interest in "smartphones" or whatever in the past entire eternity, but that there, is a computer, i UNDERSTAND what it do and how it works, therefor i want one!
And believe me, with the terminal, the possibilities is endless. Believe me again, the reward for learning the terminal is HUGE! With the phone, i can make script for the phone, ON the phone! You might not share my enthusiasm but for me that is mind-blowing! :D
Quick question for you... I intend to you use the N900 for a podcast player. Normal Symbian S60 Nokia phones don't play enhanced podcasts such as GDGT or Engadget.
I saw you have GDGT in gPodder... does it play back fine on the N900?
hi, not that i use skype, but if you open the messaging app and start a im converation with someone can you not find an option there to send files over skype? the share app that nokia has is generally for uploading pics and videos to online portals, not for sharing files from your device with other devices
With the pre-release models viewed through the full site, yeah - due to the coding used by BBC. Hopefully someone will program an app or plugin that'll fix that problem, like the iPhone.
Having a device that does everything is great but it cant be too BIG. The newer phones like the hd2 or something like the archos 5 its just too big for everyday portability. Is bigger better? I dont think so. And lets be honest, carry two devices isnt practical-- its bothersome. Great review. The n900 looks to be promising with the new OS looking fab.
chippy u r totally right the media(browser, video, e-book) is better on Archos 5 (due to larger screen), but its not a device for everyday portability for most of the users out there. Of course the best thing is to have them both :D
I heard a rumor that you could install some software and weaponise the n900.. is it true??

H264 codec can be added easily, check out the repo for more codecs and players.
Out of the box, i would imagine M@4.1 will be playable.
