It's so very useful for yours reviews. This video is to anyone who's fed up with Toshiba Mini NB505 that came with they're mini laptop. Thanks so much.
@alexeatskittys Why can you explain? see am thinking of selling this "new" computer i just bought this year. to be honest am very unhappy with it its loud laggy with games and cant do much in sound. all its stuff is intergraded so no upgrades, sooo question i can sell my ;aptop and listen to my brother and get a laptop. or listen to my friends in school and save up and build a system that best suets me from new egg, am also working on selling it for about 380 USD so is that enought?
He states that Desktops are more powerful. I believe this debate is about which is better. The states "whats nice" about a laptop. I Like a girl in pink lace panties....now take Olivia Munn in a sweat suit and a cigarrette hangin out her mouth in the same room with Kirstie Alley in some pink lace panties. Olivia will probably rock your world but "whats nice" about Kirstie is the pink lace panties...Whats better?
i was about to get a new pc for this xmas, but my parents went to see if there was any so late that now they are convincing me to get a laptop, and i only wanted PC so i could play gta4 on it!
@TheJunkProductionz No. Just think how small laptop is... It does not have cooling system big enough to cool itself properly, especially during gaming.
@TheMrBarberan There is a alot of laptops outhere that have great cooling, check out the G74SX or some of the msi gaming laptops. If you have problems with your laptop you should buy one of the coolermaster laptop coolers.
laptops are great for schoolwork mobility is a + in college somtimes in compitions you have to go to another state and do power slides and stuff they can be cheaper but not in price to performance desktops are great for games <dont say that to your dady you can water cool them<dont say that eather upgrade ability and is great power to price wise dad "wy would you need power" you "games" nasty look fro father
Laptops are so much better for Gaming, it's also portable, which means you don't sit there and stay in the same spot all day. :D so yeah, get a Laptop.
I had to buy a laptop for £100 more than the desktop I wanted to get which was twice as better. Thanks to my idiot controlling parents, I have to deal overheats and stupid ventilation, slow cpu, dodgy drivers and with a piece of shit laptop thats shit for a cpu.
You spill water all over it, you're fucked. You drop it, you're fucked.
You cant drop a desktop pc, nor spill water all over the unit. At the same time its cheaper and faster.
@HatersGonnaHate1000 laptop is bettter pc is expencive laptops are around 400$ pc are 1000 laptop have bult in sound mouse and hooked on monitor and it saves money
@nanneclayton It really depends on the person's computer usage. If they don't run around with their computer and use it a lot. Laptops are a bad choice. If they like moving from room to room with their computer, or bring it to many different places, you should definitely get a laptop. Fact of the matter, most people don't run around the house with a laptop. They stay in the same spot with it plugged into the charger. That's not only slower than a desktop, it's also bad for the battery.
@ligerman30 I agree that you might as well have a desktop if you are stationary most of the time. But cmon, where have you been? All modern laptops are as fast as desktops, (not that that matters unless you're a gamer or something), and lithium batteries have overcharge protection, it's better to have it plugged in where you can, rather than charging and draining constantly.
@ImCalledJackk No, not at all. Modern laptops are not as good as modern desktops, because the components aren't full sized in a laptop. With desktops, there is no size or battery limitations like there are on laptops. I have a huge 12 inch graphics card, you can't fit it in a laptop. That's why they make "versions" of the same component with a fraction of the performance. If you want a faster computer, desktops will always win. It's like comparing an iPhone to a Laptop.
complicated answer. depends on your current needs. if your a gamer, desktop and external HDD(if you really want to go bring data to a friends, the external is a good way and theres a good chance your friend now a days has a computer of some sort). if your a student, a laptop obviously. depending on what kinda student that is, if your in high school, depending on the grade id lean more towards a desktop. earlier grades more so desktop, higher ones a laptop cuz you will need it for post education.
@ShredManFretShredder but even so, id still say the desktop is the better choice mainly for the fact that its easier to repair then a laptop. if you dont go barebones with the laptop then you are subject to what your laptop is available to repair/upgrade. if your video card on your laptop died and you physically cant get to it without breaking the laptop itself, and your warranty has run out, then your screwed, where as if you have a desktop you can replace anything within it if something breaks
@rayaankabir desktops and laptops get the same viruses at the same rate. idk who gave you the idea that desktops dont get viruses, but whoever told you that is retarded
@xThexMaXx Or if you have to much files well im done with this i know but have there greats and both have there flaws like a laptop is to small and internet sometimes screws up and desktop can be slow sometimes and you need mics on your desktop they both have there greats and flaws.
Desktops will always be more powerful.. but, i changed a power setting to 'do nothing when lid is closed'
Plugged in an external 24inch moniter, keyboard + mouse, and altec lancing speekers. :D I got an ATi 4250 onbaord.. with 256mb ded, 1.9GB shared hyper mem @ 533mhz. shaders 4.1, DX11.. along side a duel core Athon P340 @ 2.2Ghz per core.. so - i still game, while having that mobility everyone wants. :D
Not kidding when i say its decent for games.. FSX runs on max.
Desktops are getting competition from laptops nowadays. For example Sager has made a laptop that has desktop processors for an option. Also the video card is from the newest category. AND, believe it or not, Sager actually has designed one that makes accessability considerably easy compared to Asus' g73's. And if i'm not mistaking, the cooling system looks pretty good. Ofc Sagers "desktop" laptop is expensive as hell, but who needs it as long as u can upgrade the decent ones.
If you don't travel much, then desktop FTW! Huge monitors at perfect viewing angle, full-size keyboard, lower priced components, lower maintenance cost, higher memory and HDD capacity for a lower price, beautiful & powerful speakers, faster CPU's & GPU's, and wonderful modularity to boot.
Only disadvantage: desktops are rooted to one place. Still, I love my laptop's portability, but if I have access to a desk & chair, the sheer power of a desktop is complete heaven by comparison.
you know its like a mobile phone is like a perfect technology cause theres internet can bring anywhere gaming ,texting or other word messaging, calling ,camera its gagets all in one isnt that better LIKE IF YOU AGREE
my parents want me to get a laptop where i can use it for school. but i want to play games mostly. i know desktops are better for gaming, but i want mobility. my parents are putting up half of the money, but only for a laptop, so i have to work for a lot of money for a while due to gaming laptop prices.
i've always been a desktop user who plays games but i'm going to be very mobile in the the coming years so i've switched to the laptop. i'm getting a gaming laptop which is perfect in my mind with newer technology.
I have a laptop and it's been pretty decent on games for me. It's not a gaming laptop but it's OK for me. But i plan to buy an actual gaming laptop after this. My family hates desktops, i think due to their heavy cases and since they take more space. I have an ancient desktop in my room being unused for several years. And i do like the mobility on laptops. And i actually don't care if they cost more, as long as gaming laptops are under 2000 euros.
i like to play moderwarfare 2 in the garden so :D laptop also the performance part i think its stupid cuz if u get a good laptop you will still get as much performance as a desktop can get dont forget the mobility part
with laptop i can lay on my back and enjoy computing at a same time. just find yourself a laptop portable table and you are good to go. if you are in gaming then find yourself a gaming laptop but the price will be more expensive
i need help as well, im deciding whether a laptop or desktop, i do alot of graphix such as intros, youtube background and stuff like that, please some1 respond
but now a days laptops have wireless built in and most desktops have wireless builtin but if u really wanted to break it down it depends on if ur a gamer on not. i have a Compaq CQ60-211DX with 2gigs of ram and a 160 gig hdd with a Intel Celeron processer runiing at 2.16ghz and it doesnt do to bad with games but then u got ur desktops witch are good for gaming and like chris and everybody else said their expandable i had a compaq desktop evo that ran great with games
The only games i would would get for a laptop is gmod, counterstrike, team fortress 2 and other games made by valve, I'm not going to buy crisis or any games that are graphics heavy, i only want a laptop for medium gaming. actually the reason i'm getting a laptop is to get gmod on it, and take it with me when i travel.
desktop... is better cuz, you have better performance, cost less, much more conferrable then laptops i hate those mouse tablet, easy upgraded, bigger and better resolutions, longer lasting, no battery needed, its meant for gaming, and i find it more fun!!!!
People say that Desktops are lower price, when they say that,do they mean the desktop itself,or just the cost for everything,or something completely different?
This comment is years late on this subject but I believe Desktop computers are the best to get, however, laptops are brilliant to have because of the mobility factor. I have a really good Desktop computer but I would like a laptop because of the mobility feature so I can travel and edit videos, do college work and other things. But really, it depends on what you want to do on it and whether you want to possibly upgrade it in the future.
I don't know what to get. I like the expandibility and pure power of desktops (especially as you can BUILD one) however my parents would prefer me to get a laptop, even though THEY have a desktop lol
The answer is simple. If you're at a stable point in your life, get a desktop. High power to dollar ratio. Likewise, if you're in school or travel a lot, get a notebook. With the advancements since this vid was made, notebooks can be plenty damn powerful, especially with Sandy Bridge. Toss in an SSD and opt for the best GPU avaliable and you're good for several years if you don't play the most demanding games. MSI GT780 is something I want really bad. :P
i use both, desktops for gaming and other cpu/gpu intensive things, laptops for the rest. Even for some cpu intensive things i use a laptop remote controlling my desktop
I think that they're both kewl. Desktops have a bigger monitor than laptops, laptops are more portable and more sexy, I mean think about it. Desktops, there's the tower, mouse, keyboard, and the big monitor. The same monitor and mouse and keyboard can work for almost any other desktop. They're both awesome. I use both.
I have 4 systems , 2 desktops and 2 desktops , Im into editing audio and video. I use one laptop as a hand held sampler and the other as graphic design(on the go). Myself ide rather have a desktop. Laptops cant handle hardcore use ive killed both mine dead. Desktops = RAW POWER . He's better off with a desktop man. take care
@punkrockgoth1988 As for Pro Laptop things... The only ones working for it are these:
1:Mobility
2:Mobility
3:Mobility
4:Mobility
5:Mobility
Yeah I'm starting to get tired of typing the word 'Mobility" because it's not really a very good reason at all because it's the only reason. It has nothing to offer. If I had a laptop, I wouldn't be able to fix very many hardware issues myself. Nor would there be much in the way of upgrades. Quite honestly, my SmartPhone is my mobile computer.
i've been considering this for a while. I plan to get a Mac real soon. There are Pros and Cons to both. I will be going to school online, I'm not going to the campus, i want to stay home for my job, band stuff, etc. So to me, an iMac makes sense over a Macbook Pro. For slightly less money, I could get a 27' iMac i7 Quad Core, plus an awesome screen. For some people who move around alot, a laptop makes sense.
desktop-more memory, faster, can run games on, better graphics, better sound quality, easier to use, they last longer, you dont have to worry about dropping something on them and breaking them, less lag, faster downloads, etc
My vote goes to laptop. It's quiet, portable, energy efficient, and it doesn't take up the whole desk. My current laptop is four years old but it still works well. I'm going to get a new laptop when Windows 8 comes out.
@BigdogWitBigdog build my own as in literally or on a website? because i am horrible with building stuff but newegg.com looks like it has some good computers like acer, gateway, and i buy power
@JakeJohnsonAKAJdogg no literally buy the parts and put them together. trust, I suck at building things too, like model cars and such. it's really easy. But if you feel to intimidated I would say go for the Gateway FX. Best pre-build gaming machine you'll buy for 1000 dollars.
@JakeJohnsonAKAJdogg don't wanna spam. and sorry it took so long. I've been busy. It's Gateway dot com if you havn't found it. It's pretty straight foward from there.
I would choose a desktop over a laptop, even though laptops are supposed to be portable and desktops are generally not supposed to be, the internal components of a laptop are usually not upgradeable like a desktop is.
Lol I like Laptops more. They are powerful enough. I use my netbook to play WoW sometimes. I don't know how much porn that guy downloads and how many programs he runs at once, but a laptop should be fine. If you are student get a laptop or a netbook.
But for school/work why not just buy a cheap netbook (because laptops are hardly portable pieces of shit) online for work and spend the rest on a powerful desktop for personal use? That would be the way to go.
I remember when I bought a $500 laptop and how absolutely horrible it was trying to run all of these resource hog programs. I did a lot of video editing, created music, played and created games and browsed the web a bunch. I got fed up with the unbearable performance and built my own $700 computer. I don't even give a shit about portability when I have such an awesome computer. I can do anything I want now, like run any game on high settings and multi task without any hiccups whatsoever!
Desktops for power, customizability, speed, and repair ability.
Laptops for transportation and power efficiency.
So here's my conclusion, if you travel a lot, get a laptop, otherwise, get a desktop. (I personally think that desktops are a lot easier to work on, and you can build a desktop a lot more easily than a laptop.)
My laptop specs are ram 4gb, i7 2.90 ghz cpu, nvidia geforce display card with 2gb, 500gb of hdd but I still get lags while playing unplugged and even when its plugged i get lags playing gta 4 with the maximum settings... any solutions???

2003ammar 10 months ago
with laptop i can lay on my back and enjoy computing at a same time. just find yourself a laptop portable table and you are good to go. if you are in gaming then find yourself a gaming laptop but the price will be more expensive
zome0101 10 months ago
Desktop for performance.
Laptop for mobility.
This may change in the future, as laptops are getting stronger. Especially Toshiba.

but now a days laptops have wireless built in and most desktops have wireless builtin but if u really wanted to break it down it depends on if ur a gamer on not. i have a Compaq CQ60-211DX with 2gigs of ram and a 160 gig hdd with a Intel Celeron processer runiing at 2.16ghz and it doesnt do to bad with games but then u got ur desktops witch are good for gaming and like chris and everybody else said their expandable i had a compaq desktop evo that ran great with games
trickmytruck32 11 months ago
The only games i would would get for a laptop is gmod, counterstrike, team fortress 2 and other games made by valve, I'm not going to buy crisis or any games that are graphics heavy, i only want a laptop for medium gaming. actually the reason i'm getting a laptop is to get gmod on it, and take it with me when i travel.
klondikebar48 11 months ago
desktop... is better cuz, you have better performance, cost less, much more conferrable then laptops i hate those mouse tablet, easy upgraded, bigger and better resolutions, longer lasting, no battery needed, its meant for gaming, and i find it more fun!!!!
Ginounknown 11 months ago
People say that Desktops are lower price, when they say that,do they mean the desktop itself,or just the cost for everything,or something completely different?
JDFrates 11 months ago
This comment is years late on this subject but I believe Desktop computers are the best to get, however, laptops are brilliant to have because of the mobility factor. I have a really good Desktop computer but I would like a laptop because of the mobility feature so I can travel and edit videos, do college work and other things. But really, it depends on what you want to do on it and whether you want to possibly upgrade it in the future.

I don't know what to get. I like the expandibility and pure power of desktops (especially as you can BUILD one) however my parents would prefer me to get a laptop, even though THEY have a desktop lol
Paspiedreamcast 1 year ago
The answer is simple. If you're at a stable point in your life, get a desktop. High power to dollar ratio. Likewise, if you're in school or travel a lot, get a notebook. With the advancements since this vid was made, notebooks can be plenty damn powerful, especially with Sandy Bridge. Toss in an SSD and opt for the best GPU avaliable and you're good for several years if you don't play the most demanding games. MSI GT780 is something I want really bad. :P

a laptop is good for people who often travel wide away!
a desktop is for gamer who want power for relativly low coast.
but if u are a person who say: I need a laptop becaus i need it then u are stupid!
desktops have more power for lower price or for same money u have more power with a desktop
u only have to know where do you have to buy!

I use both.

Pro-Desktop List:
1: If a part goes bad, it can be fixed very easily.
2: Processor Speeds are much higher.
3: If you need to be on the computer for several hours, a desktop is much less likely to overheat
4: A desktop is built to have a life longer than just a year or two.
5: If you need an upgrade, all you have to do on a desktop is pop the side panel off and pop the upgrade in.
6: The Desktop is much more likely to stay in one place and not become a nuisance to others when out and about.
TBC:
punkrockgoth1988 1 year ago
@punkrockgoth1988
7: Due to the size and heaviness of a Desktop, it is much less likely to be stolen.
8: Price vs Performance/Space/Lifetime = Desktop > Laptop
9: All work and no play makes Jack a Dull boy.
10: Do you really want to have to have an external HDD for backup when you could have a desktop with an external backup HDD
11: If you spill something on a Desktop Keyboard, you don't kill the entire machine.
Now my brain is starting to hurt but even 11 reasons or 10 is good... Now pro LT...
punkrockgoth1988 1 year ago
@punkrockgoth1988 As for Pro Laptop things... The only ones working for it are these:
1:Mobility
2:Mobility
3:Mobility
4:Mobility
5:Mobility
Yeah I'm starting to get tired of typing the word 'Mobility" because it's not really a very good reason at all because it's the only reason. It has nothing to offer. If I had a laptop, I wouldn't be able to fix very many hardware issues myself. Nor would there be much in the way of upgrades. Quite honestly, my SmartPhone is my mobile computer.
punkrockgoth1988 1 year ago
Well, if your a student, i would say laptop. Then you can always get an LCD monitor and hook it up when your not going mobile.

i've been considering this for a while. For some people who move around alot, a laptop makes sense.

desktop: more reliable, more power, cheaper assuming you're building it
laptop: mobility
Most importantly is to research and define your NEEDS. Not wants.
crazendisturbed 1 year ago
My vote goes to laptop. It's quiet, portable, energy efficient, and it doesn't take up the whole desk. My current laptop is four years old but it still works well. I'm going to get a new laptop when Windows 8 comes out.

for gaming should I get a Alienware m15x laptop or a Alienware aurora desktop?
JakeJohnsonAKAJdogg 1 year ago
@JakeJohnsonAKAJdogg neither. just build your own computer. cheaper, and most of the time it's faster and better for gaming. trust me dude.
BigdogWitBigdog 1 year ago
@BigdogWitBigdog build my own as in literally or on a website? because i am horrible with building stuff but newegg.com looks like it has some good computers like acer, gateway, and i buy power
JakeJohnsonAKAJdogg 1 year ago
@JakeJohnsonAKAJdogg no literally buy the parts and put them together. trust, I suck at building things too, like model cars and such. it's really easy. But if you feel to intimidated I would say go for the Gateway FX. Best pre-build gaming machine you'll buy for 1000 dollars.
BigdogWitBigdog 1 year ago
@BigdogWitBigdog ok thanks man ill try and find that one

I am thinking of buying a desktop this time.
