I'm kicking around converting my Subaru Robin EH035 friction drive motorbike to be chain driven with a Nuvinci system. Because it has 1.5 horsepower, I'm not expecting it to become amazingly faster, but to remedy the problems I have with slippage when hitting a wet surface or sand, very slow acceleration from a dead stop at intersections and steep hills, and maybe a slightly higher top speed. Do you think the Nuvinci system would bog my motor down and not yield any results?
@Reservoirdogs12 I think on a low power motor you are not going to get a performance gain so to speak. There is going to be a little drag with a N.V. But your direct chain approach I think is great. I think you would prolly enjoy the gears.
I gotta say man, theres a market in full suspension motored bike frames, at least in me =) Im ridin a hardtail mtb with a gp460 staton gear box and nuvinci hub rear rack mount. i will say the hub has been the greatest invention for our rides since bicycles! finding a light, full suspension frame that one doesnt have to custom build, that fits a motor like the morini... im afraid theyre non-existent. the need for speed is too much =P
@heroofharo That's pretty funny lol . I forgot about that line. This thing has rugged down hill type competition forks . The Backed end is pretty solid too. I am too old for the ramping lol. Except the occasional speed bump. The bike is already pretty heavy. I put a lot of iron in the build.
I don't think I could ever bring myself to out right ramp it. That's a funny line tho. lol
I want this video on my V1100 unit.

@GoatHerder12311 was a napoleon dynamite joke :p its matthurd btw, does it make you do wheelies or something when you hit a speed bump? lol
would be interesting to see someone take one of these on jumps for sure, most bikes dont got very good suspension after all xD
