Sid Vicious was a stupid fucking junkie who couldn't play bass for his life. He was an image, he defined the image of British Punk Rock. But he was a stupid kid who OD'd at 20 or so, and left a mark that shouldn't be there.

I think Glen Matlock is a beeter bassist by far. Sid couldn't play, all he did was look like he didn't give a fuck. And btw, I'm 19, I just happen to have a dad who was a punk when he was younger.

@punkrocklives13 Matlock's a bloody good Bassist and a great tunesmith. They did'nt seem to write much after Glen was sacked. Worse thing they ever did was to get rid of Glen and going on the "Today" programme pretty much killed them musically.

In fact he was usually either so drunk or drugged they had a pretty tough time just getting through a concert. He actually really wasn't a very good bassist at all. So, to make you nostalgic maybe they should have drugged the new bassist before he went on stage with them to give you that same bullshit "FEELING". Hell, he actually did it better than Sid which wasn't that hard at all.

Though at most shows he was to drugged to even keep his eyes open, but when he was into it, he woud pull the crowd in. he's just a punk-rock-god, and in my mind, the sex pistols image (not necessarily the music) relied on sid.
