@FenrirLupus Yup... it's scanning the entire image top to bottom instead of skipping lines and coming back. Add to that the proximity of subwoofer frequencies being around 35Hz (cycles per second) up to about 100Hz -- at least for PA... not sure about car audio "subs", probably about the same... and you get all that weirdness.

Your "illusion" is because the cameras records a low number of frames per second. I'm guessing around 25 FPS it records.

i think it's because of two things exo. one being the framerate of the camera. and two being the way to takes pictures/video. It does it from either top to bottom or bottom to top. Meaning if you were driving and took a picture of a rail or something, it would look angled because it took some time to go from bottom to top to finish taking that picture.

look for exposure times.

As a reminder to all the others, if you are aligning the subwoofers with the rest of the system, sometimes it perfectly fine to have them (Polarity inverted) or out of phase. Many times they will be thrown out of phase depending on which crossover filter you use. You can have everything correctly wired and still have an inverted response from the measured curve simply from the filter. So Positive isn't always positive when measured with a sweep program.

if it was out of phase exo would definitely kno cuz it would kill his output. i had a 4 sub setup i had one sub out of phase and the subs would move but allmost no sound because the phase issue. its when u wire ur subs wrong like u accidently get a positive and negative switched and the sub moves the opposite direction which cancels out sound sorta

It proves that it's not the subwoofers that are out of sync, but rather the camera creating a wave like effect from one extremity to another. If it does the same exact effect when looking at a solitary object, it goes to show it's an illusion...

@bigsteamfan i have one and i love it, ive posted a couple vids with it and had to delete them because im doing something differently. However the zi8 isn't the best camera in the world, but it gets the job done.

Pros: Great fps, low price, small size, amazing sound quality,

Cons: Brutal in low light, small battery life.

overall: better than the flip. And it wont kill exo's budget.. or make him pay like 2-400$ for a camera.

Trust me, if he wants GOOD go with the Cannon EOS 7D
