@tekhed303 you have to admit that there is lot more energy in tracks like gassenhauer when you compare it to the stuff liebing is doing these days. all those dj's should stick to their style and not switch to this modern stripped down minimal like techno. we already have richie hawtin who is a master in minimal, but most of the switchers are noodling way too much. and techno is indeed still going strong but this old liebing style is nowhere to be heard anymore, and that is a shame.
@303threeothree yeah man totally agree. Im not a pure techno head but the same thing is happening to progressive house. All the genres are going in the shitty minimal direction which is a shame. Pretty soon there wont be any genres just different variations of minimal. Dance music used to be energetic and tunes were banging. Minimal is slow and boring and does absolutely nothing for me. Hopefully it wont take long for people to get bored of it and go back to their roots.
@nostanova i don't know if it's ever gonna happen, a return to form. but since this minimal is everywhere i lost most of my interest in techno. and that is because i like to listen to music which comes from the heart, and it seems that all these switchers choose to follow the money. that is what's happening. i can't see no other reason. it's like going to heavy metal concerts and suddenly all your favorite bands start to play ballads. it's making me sad.
@303threeothree well I don't know if it was intentional, but a LOT of bands who played very good and characteristic metal in the old days turned into ballad playing jokes. so it's not happening just to techno, but a lot of genres. there are not too many who can stay true and strong...
@tordenskrald that's right, i totally agree with you. but if a band does that i'll walk away. and in some ways i can understand why bands sometimes slowdown. that is because playing live music is a very physical event. and some music is intense so to play that your body won't allow you to do it anymore when you get older. but playing techno is far from intense for your body so i still don't get this state of mind. don't get me wrong, i like some minimal as well. but not out of liebing's hands.

damn...this is like dark ambient techno. Waaay better than the happy hardcore stuff. This is the way techno should be. Dark, unmerciful and machinelike.
