I always thought it was about someone who's spent Monday night contemplating suicide, but gets too distracted by the sun & the sky the next morning to keep his mind on it...
How have I never heard of this band or this song? Heard it for the first time on Sirius radio today and then looked it up on Youtube. What a great song! I was suprised to find that it dates back to the early 90's, it sounds so fresh that I thought it was a new song when I first heard it. Its too bad that quality music like this doesn't reach the masses and the pop crap thats around today is making marginally talented "artists" obscenely wealthy.
I love this song! It reminds me maybe of the old Allman Bros music justa Ramblin thru the Southern Nights between the Trailers under the Starz of my Night Tyme Sky... Surely an easier time. Happy New Year 2011 from SoCal!
Credit to KINK radio here in Portland. They played this song from its first release and they've never stopped playing it. A song so perfect you wouldn't want to change a single note.
I've heard that sweet, tight guitar solo that comes in @ about 2:35 in, hundreds of times while listening to the Hugh Hewitt radio program, & always wondered what the rest of the tune would sound like.
Today, I got off my ass & called the program to ask. One of Hugh's producer was kind enough to find the info & give it to me.
Now, I'm a FJB fan!
I love both the excellent instrumental, & vocal work.
Awesome!! Loved them when I lived in North Carolina from 1990 to 2000......they got a lot of air play. The group Train was the same way, they got a a lot of air play with Meet Virginia, but didn't really hit it until they came out with Drops of Jupiter and then Soul Sister.....Freddy Jones Band was way underrated!!! Good stuff!
I like "Wonder" better than this tune, but I LOVE this band regardless. They are one of the most amazing bands I have ever seen or heard in my 46 years! Thank you for posting this!!!
This is one of those great songs that will stand the test of time. Like the Waterboys "You Saw the Whole of the Moon" or Tears for Fears "Everyone Wants to Rule the World". I remember the first time I heard it. On Edisto Island Beach, driving down the main road, perfect sunny day, on vacation no less ............... f*cking awesome!!!! Remember thinking, "I have to find the name of this band and buy the cd!" Thanks for posting.
did these guys get PAID to do this? Seriously, I met two of my most favorite people at a FJB concert...sweeeeeet!

93 - WXRT in Chicago has been playing these guys since forever, too.
1993 was their 'Saturday Morning Flashback' year last week, so I went searching for some of my favorites. =)

@markinlc You nailed it. Doesn't that guitar solo at 2:20 immediately make you think of Dicky Betts? Thank God for Capricorn Records in the '70s.
