Im kinda thinking a 4 rotor will be my next project. KiwiRE sells the e shafts but there still needs to be quite a bit of modification to 13b rotor housings and irons to make this work. ive seen 2 try it and only 1 still runs. one person installed the wrong bearings in the wrong place or something and the motor shook itself apart and bent the e shaft. But I have an acquaintance from Japan that will put mine together who has built them before. That is if I decide to sell the M3 for this project.

@TJcars2 : I was wondering the same thing, but then realized this car was not running. The motor you hear is a 2 rotor from the neighboring car. The 4 rotor sounds quite a bit different when idling.

it helps the cars transition better

So when they run a wider tire it helps the car to slide and transition during the drift. The skinner the tire the harder to drift it. Thats why you see most drift cars running wide and deep dish rims and tires.

Its called stretching. Think its to eliminate all sidewall flex, thus making changes of direction razor sharp.

@monono954 there skinny so the tire doesn't flex under a lot of pressure nd there wide so the car would have more traction

@monono954 - The tires have a hard compound tread to them which is why their not very wide because the tires are meant to break loose and spin easy, not to get grip.

@Paintballa53 drifters need alot of grip, the more grip they have the faster they can go and the more control they have and therefore better drift. If they didn't have grip they would just spin off the track every time. If you look at the pro's alot of them are running semi slick racing tyres to get more traction for that very reason.

Actually the RED BULL 7 is not running in the video...The sound is from a nearby RED LINE OIL sponsored RX-7 that was being prepped for a demo drift run (that vid coming soon ;) ).

@supremewhip That would be interesting, but the Scoot is built as a top speed higher end sports car and the Madbull is purely built with drifting in mind. Similar concepts, the cars that is, but different follow through...
