  • AT 2:39, IT WILL ALL MAKE SENSE

  • Instead of saving the world from bad music.. why don't we just annihilate anyone who doesn't agree with your favorite genre of music? Makes sense right? Then this will be the best music on earth- for there will be no one else to say otherwise.

  • @FromtheInception there won't be anyone left xD

I could personally execute the sheep who buy only Top 40 pop from iTunes however

  • @FromtheInception I like Katy Perry, Rihanna, Mastodon and this, what should we do then?

  • @AlexLococo atleast you don't like bieber

  • @johnbad1000 Lol, i don't, but I hate him less than mainstream rap.

  • This is wonderful! A few musicians/bands comparable to this are the algorithm, between the buried and me, animals as leaders, and the contortionist. If any of you who read this comment know of other bands that are at this level of originality and or awesomeness let me know!

  • @GuitarmandanXo

Cynic, tool and the mars volta.

  • @Eradicateify Nice recommendations, little by little we can save the world from bad music. :)

  • @rmmartins133

Isis is one of my favorites too, im a composer and they changed the way i compose completely.

  • @GuitarmandanXo Rotten Sound xD

  • @GuitarmandanXo I think they have a lot in common with Isis (which happens to be one of my favourite bands). I'd also throw in Baroness just to see what happens.

  • The ocean is the type of band that keeps me hungry for more original music such as this. If it weren't for music such as this...metal would be dead, love me some epic/prog metal

  • i am like, wow, ive never heard something like this! its so amazing, where can i buy it?????

  • IS THIS EVEN FUCKING POSSIBLE?? THIS WHOLE ALBUM IS ORGASMIC!!

Mastodon's Crack The Skye was epic

Gojira's The Way Of All Flesh was even more epic

And then I listen to this album... is it even possible to go up from here?

  • @GrimmKonig

Liked your comment, and your references!!!

Love all those bands, and I quite agree...

Have you listened to Heliocentric and Anthropocentric? It's difficult to compare them to Precambrian, but they touched me so deeply... My heart is a bitch, I love them all!

  • @GrimmKonig

And by the way, do you know Hacride? A french band that shares some roots with The Ocean I think... Check their video clip "Perturbed"!!

  • @Underfleshmusic I believe I have listened to all of Precambrian, it's hard to say. I have listened to a few songs from Anthropocentric, and Heliocentric, I am in awe.

Another badass French band? I'll check them out, thanks.

  • @GrimmKonig please man listen to hacride...specially Lazarus album... and specially Act of God... and specially the final part of the song...

  • Holy shit, this was awesome

  • way to pick a name that's easily found on google damn you cunts.

we're good now. Can't wait to see you open for BTBAM

  • Great song!

  • Absolut genial. Zusammen mit Neurosis und Meshuggah meine absoluten Favoriten in Sachen Weltuntergangsmusik..! Großartig!

  • These guys and Gojira should do a song thogether

  • This album is a masterpiece! The more you listen the more layers it reveals

  • Damn this is the first song I hear from them and as i started, I started to have to pee as well. Because of this magnificent song, now I'm sitting in my room and trying to hold back my pee until the song ends:D

  • Saw these guys with between the buried and me, lead singer gave me a high five after their show!

  • this shit is seriously.. no joke.. wt F... i gotta pack another bowl

  • Anybody know the setlist they played on their tour w/ btbam?

  • @kevnz88 When I saw them in April, I believe they played: Shamayim, Anthropocentric, The Grand Inquistor I: Kamarazov Baseness, The Origion of God, and the Origin of Species.

  • @CopperVolta Awesome, thanks bro.

  • May 13th! BTBAM and The Ocean at Rockettown in Nashville. I think I may be the happiest person ever.

  • @MdayGuitarist i saw btbam and the ocean on april 17th with job for a cowboy... i had never heard of the ocean until then....they were amazing... so was btbam.

  • @MAV11996 I had the exact same experience

  • This song is incredibly sexy!!! I'd love to do a strip tease to this!!

  • i cam here looking for notes on the precamberian period....

  • Awesome remembered reading a review for this album years ago, finally heard it and wow . . .

  • What the F did this video have to do with the precambrian?

  • @Tigerpawzs you're hilarious

  • ...and i was ripped apart at 2:40

  • How the wind played his gentle game

    Nebulized and beguiled me

With your wisps sweet with lemon

And the bruisers on your chin

    Spoke the truth

    About our everything

    And spared you a sermon...

  • dug the music, the sudden radio chorus's threw me off/were a let down but cool stuff.

  • hey can this one be called classical sludge!!??hehe

  • soo slowly!!!!!

  • help its eating me!!!!!

  • The Ocean is defiantly 1 of my top post/prog bands i listen too.

  • First listen nothing special !

  • yay, I love this band now although it took a while to grow on me, now I can't imagine life without The Ocean. Pure goodness

  • I think I just came.

  • Good Human material round here!

  • Intro reminds me very slightly of Hotel California by The Eagles, similar chord changes...

  • 4:54 - Nice Blast.

  • |,,|(o.o)|,,|

  • lol at the hidden black metal moment (4:54)

  • This is incredible.

  • Sounds like 10% Isis, 10% Gojira... 80% unique awesomeness :D I love it XD

  • i love a band like this. that isnt a poser metal band and has great talent. i love how much of their music is rooted from classical music

  • Damn, I want this album!

Hopefully the local metalstore has it.

  • One of the best songs ever. Of any band ever.

  • 3:18 ..cant sit still for shit ^^

loved to watch that band grow..

    the new melodies are brilliant..

    so unique..

  • ooooh... well, heliocentric is not bad but the old stuff is so much better in my opinion. It's perfect

  • The intro reminded me of hotel California, kick ass song and album though.

  • I love these guys. I have the first half of this set, but some asshole stole the second half from me(the better half). You fucking rule Ocean. Don't ever change. You are an interesting innovative creative fresh breath of musical air.

  • This is fucking awesome.

  • Why aren't bands like these played on the radio instead of Slipknot ripoffs?

  • @Technologic are you saying slipknot are ripoffs

  • @Technologic haha why dont bands like these play on the radio instead of justin beiber and ke$ha?

  • @Technologic would the world be so fucked up then? -_-

  • @Technologic It might have something to do with the 8+ minute songs. Radio likes their songs alot shorter.

  • @Technologic because people who actually bother listening to the radio and the people who work at the radio stations can't comprehend musicality. If it's not in 4/4, auto tuned, and doesnt have a constant up beat, than they don't know whats going on so they don't play it...its sad...

  • well, they've already changed their style once or twice.

  • im digging that dudes voice

  • I bought the album off of iTunes (will be getting Heliocentric off of Amazon) and I have listened to the album a lot, but I kept listening to the first disc and the first three tracks of the 2nd disc. I forgot about this track for awhile and I can't believe I haven't been listening to Stenian! It's the heaviest track on the whole album! My favorite song on Precambrian by far!

  • absolutely mind blowing

  • I don't know what to say.

    Just wow.

  • Indeed, this album, as well as this band, are just amazing. They have a new one coming in April. From the previews that have been posted, it's going to be just as good if not better.

  • and then another in october. The Ocean will cause a tsunami in 2010 ;D

  • jajajajaja

  • Une Saison En Enfer is heard on SIRIUS/XM's Liquid metal! In the U.S.A.

  • <333 This is my style right there

  • When it kicks into the heavier part, it just blows me away still.

  • This album is a classic for me, pure awesomeness

  • by far my most favorite song of theirs

  • When the main riff kicks in it reminds me of a band called Knut, great guitar sound...really full and thick. Good band!

  • nebulized and beguiled me...

  • im gunna play this shit at my funeral...and wedding...

  • I sorta wanna become your friend just so I can attend your wedding and funeral and hear this song.....thats deep.

  • also kind of weird

  • @FLOODTHEVOID Whichever comes first.

  • @FLOODTHEVOID In that order???:P

  • @FLOODTHEVOID thats preeeeety dumb of you

  • @MadMax052 Lol @ reply to a year old comment.

  • @FLOODTHEVOID It's at the top of the list what does it matter how fucking old it is?

  • @FLOODTHEVOID Hehe. Great Comment! Greetings from Germany!

  • OH JOYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

  • r there ppl from teh metal boards on here?!?!

  • present, had to check it out to see what is about. Looked over this earlier today actually in the store

  • user name?

  • oh my god metallicat, it's you!!! i only come by here when i need to send this to people on facebook. i'm glad you took my recommendation. the ocean rule!

this is respawneddemon by the way.

  • I like the band, the vocals kinda get on my nerves tho. I'll get used to it.

  • Loxx posted this vid.

  • this song is sublime

  • straight from the burning grounds of hell.

    demonic sound

  • Fuckin amazing

  • Oh my God, Loxx are you TheOceanPrecambrian?

  • and that's all I have to say about that....

  • This band truly is incredible. I absolutely love this album, and it is definitely one of the best releases of the past ten years in the metal genre. I am astonished that these guys aren't more popular in the underground metal community. They're absolutely phenomenal.

  • Agree with you 100%.

Although, I kinda like that they aren't as popular as other bands of similiar genres. Being 'underground' makes The Ocean a band unique to those that do know them, selfish as that may be.

    Opinion of course..

  • Yeah definitely. If they weren't underground I would be significantly afraid that they would drastically change their style.

  • You obviously haven't bought their cds.

  • I own all of their stuff dude.

  • And yet you've never read the liner notes?

  • No, I haven't. I was too busy enjoying the music.

  • @darkfiend3792 lol@you... They did. But it's still amazing.

  • Awesome song, together with Statherian.

  • god I love this song,

  • ...this is the best song on the albums...the main riff sends chills down my spine...

  • Because music is definitely all about the vocals.

  • Except you're completely wrong.

  • I said something similar when I first heard this

if you change slightly you could expand your fanbase massively

    don't take criticism so badly

  • I'm not Robin Stapps nor anyone else in The Ocean Collective. Also, artistic vision is more important than trying to appeal to a wider audience.

  • you aren't a fan of prog metal, stop listening to the ocean and wishing they weren't said genre.

better yet, just listen to dragonforce and beat off to metallica. no one cares what you think.

  • Who are you talking to?

  • I'm talking to the dipshits who are complaining about the vocals. they obviously can't tell how good this guy is at vox. or they think Hinder is heavy metal.

just the line "FOR THE GREAT BLUE COLD NOW REIGNS" sends shivers up my spine. this dude has perfected his particular style.

he even "sings" key, something most growlers can't do. this siinger and joe duplantier from gojira are the best at melodic throating.

  • My mistake... For some reason it was showing up as you replying to one of my comments somewhere else... Never even saw this reply until now. Odd.

  • yea. the dude from gojira is an animal.

  • This entire conversation is ridiculous. They're all retarded, except theflyingscudman

  • why are you so cranky?

  • yeah.... fuck you.

  • definitely one of my top 5 favs...

  • I can't get enough of this tune... this whole album, really..

Does anyone know what "bruisers"(?) are..?

...or whatever is actually being said..?

  • bruisers?

    jellyfish in the foam?

  • The jellyfish line is more than likely literal... ever walked on the beach at night and seen all the tiny jellyfish that have washed ashore? I don't know what bruisers are.

  • Fucking love this song. I really like the direction the band has taken from Aeolian to Precambrian. More progressive and instrumental, I hope they continue this way.

  • this song is so good.

  • This song is fuckin amazing.

  • On the IGN metal board. I was on a big Pelican kick and the cover art reminded me of them and got me interested. It was a little after Precambrian came out and I've loved them ever since I first heard that album.

  • I hear these guy at my local college radio station. This album was vote the number 1 in that college radio station. the radio station is called hard attack WXCI 91.7FM

  • This song is simply amazing. Somehow the audio sounds weird on Youtube though (at least in the intro).

  • Yes, sadly the conversion during upload really killed the audio. On the bright side, that might inspire people to actually buy the album. It's money well spent.

  • Yeah, I bought their CD. it is so good. Hey where did you hear of this band?

  • i wanted to see these with burst in sheffield but its too far away :(

  • someone needs to post ryacian aka the 1st and 2nd songs on the new album

  • Actually, Rhyacian is technically the 7th track. It's the second song on the second disc of Precambrian. I want to upload that entire album but it doesn't work properly whenever I try. I should try again.

  • questa canzone è veramente troppo bella, personalmente dal punto di vista emotivo tocca corde impensabili

  • !!!!!!!!!!! That's all that i can say!

  • this song is amazing

  • i named my band after this song cause its so awesome.

  • my favorite song of this album... i made a artwork dedicated to it...

  • I like the band, but the name kinda dissapoints me cause it has nothing to do with the lyrics at all. I love the ocean itself, but i would have written other kind of lyrics. It's great though.

  • where do all the alternate names come from? on my album, it only has the actual titles.

  • If you have the North American metalblade records edition the non-concept titled

(I.E: Mount Sorrow, For the Great Blue Cold Now Reigns)are in the booklets, not on the back of the case. The alternate titles are right beside the main titles with the lyrics, but they are written in very small text and in a darker colour so it blends in with the background. Let me know when you find them! :)

P.S: THIS IS THE BEST PROG-METAL SONG EVER WRITTEN

  • oh wow those are hard to read, but i found them

  • YEAH, it took me about a month to discover the alt-titles! haha but once I did I was very glad I could have a way of yelling out song titles at a show that I could actually pronounce!!!! LOL

  • Legendary.

  • this dose not help fool

  • Precambrian should probably be considered the pinnacle of concept albums, because I can't imagine them getting any better than this.

  • This album is absolutely perfect.
