  • eso lo haces con AE?

    muy bueno

  • This is MASKING!!!!!!!

  • yea all you did was use the masking tool and add colour correction and brightness and contrast effect, its not worth bragging about it on youtube you cretin

  • Rotobrush did not exist when this was uploaded to youtube in 2008, morons.

  • Please someone give me the tutorial of this ,please

  • @HITLER20021 Subscribe to our channel, and our second channel! Because were uploading tutorial soon! :)

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • @th3soviet

    Bully.

  • Is this Sparta?

  • How did you make this effects??

  • Look at the upload date and the individual masking points. CS5 didn't exist at this point. This is not RotoBrush! THIS. IS. ROTOSCOPING!!

  • you really rotoscoped this? how long did it take .. 2.3years?

  • Rotobrush uses math, rotoscope uses blood and pain of the roto artist. Hence this isnt rotoscoping.

  • /watch?v=czoincWRvgI

  • I dont understand what you did here.

  • @shawnio He isolated the colour.

  • FATALITY!!!

  • fantastic roto. ae5?

  • dope

  • the name of the sooong!!!? anyone please

  • @MrCRISESCOBAR Liberate by Disturbed

  • That was probably long as hell!

  • Nice :)

  • ooooowwwww.... he kicked the color right out of him!

  • This...is...ROTO!

  • OK.Thats AmaZing :D

Just go After Effects CS5 and i've got to learn That =D

  • Wtf this isn't even hard to do. It seriously took me 60 secoends to rotobrush a character model in Call of Duty 4... and some people think rotobrushing in games is hard...

CS5 is just fucking amazing. Although some skill is involved, anyone can do this.

  • @DramaKiiDD he didnt do this with cs5, so this definitely took time, I love CS5's rotobrush tool! Saves hours of work, but he did a great job, definitely better to get used to doing it his way first, then move to CS5 and use the rotobrush tool, thats why people say rotobrushing in video games is hard, thats because it takes effort, like this video, using CS5 really requires little to no talent bud, so if people say roto'ing is hard, it's because they're doing much harder work than you.

  • wowwww man you are crazy! btw, excellent job!

  • the rotoscop was cool but what is that song in the background?

  • Rotoscoping??? THIS!! IS!!! SPARTAAAAAAAAA!

  • So you have to create a mask for every frame, right?

  • @Alexand3rS not exactly. You adjust the mask every 2 or 3 frames, and AfterFX makes it smooth...

  • @highdownhybrid gah, I wish I had a 64-bit so I could get CS5 and it's rotobrush...

  • @Alexand3rS Not with RotoBrush. Look at the video in his description.

  • @dag101101 yeah I know I saw that but I'm on a 32-bit system :(

  • Niiiiice!

  • sweet

  • make tutorial

  • it probably is rotoscoping but it doesn't look like rotoscoping to me

  • @BLOWitUP100 it's not cartoony which is what i'm used to

  • i bet you this is real time. lol. with CS5 this is literally a 5 minute job. i was able to immitate it within the time this video can run through.

  • @BlackSpark13 Damn, guess that means you should go back in time to 2008, and warn this guy, so he doesn't waste his time then.

  • @BLOWitUP100 i didnt mean it like that. i was just stating that this software is amazing. that you can do that project within 5 minutes with just an easy tool. i didnt mean any disrespect

  • @BlackSpark13 fair enough

  • @BlackSpark13 five minutes my ass, you go rotoscope this scene in five minutes and not make it look like crap, ill be impressed dude.

  • @ExitMediaProductions alright well i never said it didnt look like shit. but god damn can ANYBODY FUCKING READ?!?!?! i said i could redo this is in 5 minutes BECAUSE OF THE FUCKNG "EASE OF FUCKING USE!!!" NOT SAYING IT HAS TO BE FUCKING PEACHY AND PERFECT! IM JUST SAYING THIS FUCKING PROGRAM MAKES THIS TYPE OF PROJECT EASY TO DO! GODDAM IGNORANT PRICKS! CANT EVEN READ PAST COMMENTS BEFORE CRITISIZING.... read my other comments and see how retarded you just made yourself sound...

  • @BlackSpark13 I CAN PRESS THE CAPS LOCK BUTTON TOO DUDE .... don't call me retarded, especially when you're the PRICK saying dumb stuff on here in public

  • @ExitMediaProductions the caps was to show how pissed i was at your stupidity. i never called you retarded, thats a completely different concept. being retarded means that you dont have a choice to be stupid. i said you sounded retarded, never called you it. so therefor, you are stupid. i am now calling you stupid for your stupidity. ive now had to repeat myself 6 times on basically the same type of videos for people calling me out on stuff ive already explained multiple times but in different

  • @ExitMediaProductions manors. so i was really pissed off that i had to explain it again. and yea, ok, i admit my comments went off base saying the pricks stuff, but you get where im coming from. now. do i have to explain myself AGAIN!?!?! or did i essentially get my point across?

  • @BlackSpark13 so im retarded, but im not retarded. You make so much sense. You know what, you sound retarded, but youre not retarded, im just saying you sound like it which means you really are not but are but kinda arent. do i have to explain myself again? or what? You talk in circles, and you make giant deals out of little things buddy. Knock the nonsense off.

  • @ExitMediaProductions hey, i basically apologized and you are still going on about the retarded/stupid thing. i was just trying to explain myself and you keep going on about what i said. you basically just imitated what i said just with a twist. come up with your own combacks. this is just a reply/oppology so maybe you can shut up now. stop replying to my comments so i can start wasting my time somewhere else other than building up this guys comment box and so people arent annoyed anymore.

  • @BlackSpark13 youre right, im dragging it on..

  • and I took the rotobrush for granted.

    nice job :)

  • man, not to be rude or anything, but what a waste of time!!!! Rotoscoping a shot from an existing movie just to change the color of the backgorund, I mean, If this was something you could do in a couple of minutes ok, I would try it too If I'm bored, but this takes hours!!! even days!!!, and this is a lot trickier because there's a lot of detail, I like your dedication, but It would be cool if it is used in something original.

    God Bless you

  • This is madness? -Madness? This is ROTOBRUSH!

  • Roto is so much easier in CS5 nowadays. Thank goodness.

  • Apparently... this is Sparta. But it's just a guess.

  • This is not rotoscoping........THIS IS EPIC!

  • It looks like some people are reading old information. Rotoscoping used to be when an artist would use a picture of real objects/people to trace from so they could get realistic movement, or some other effect out of it. In modern movie editing, rotoscoping usually refers to taking objects or actors away from their original background to place them on a new one with programs like After Effects, Nuke etc. Please update your vocabulary, people. (:

    Great job SE7ENFX

  • @sharkhead7854 yup, depends on who's use the word: animation or film

  • @TraKoLock Yeah but people have to look at the context, is this video an animation or a film? (:

  • This is pretty cool!

  • Aw... I was kinda hoping you'd put him on a daisy field background or in an abandoned Radio Shack or something. Heh heh.

  • Oh gosh, wish I could do that!

  • Holyshit that's awesome!!

  • You have to much time on your hands :)

  • @ShitTalkTV actually, it's VERY easy to do with Adobe CS5. Green screens will almost become obsolete for single character shots pretty soon.

  • @CrazyDelcyTV do you have CS5? I always wanted to know if you can change manually the rotoscope-mask in after effects...

  • @TRiCKSTARTV yes! you can adjust it! but it takes a while to work though! it's doing all your manual work for you! but yes you can adjust it by erasing or adding the contour, it's not like masking though.

  • @CrazyDelcyTV that's awesome..I just try to make some roto-exercises, but it never looks good enough :/

do you have any tips for beginners?

  • this was all done by hand am i right?

  • Roto about generating an alpha matte for the subject.. which you have. But over many frames.

It's best to break your roto up into smaller section, say the ear, the head & the body. Also track the actors movement to remove the amount of frames you need to roto.

  • This isn't rotoscoping...this...IS...SPARTAAA!

  • @nudeood HAHAAHAHAHAAAAA.....HAHAHA!!!

  • No.. this is SPARTA! Didn't you hear?

  • ayuda donde puedo descargar el programa

si subieras el link te lo agradeceria

  • if anyone says this isn't rotoscopting they have no clue what they are talking about.

  • Umm folks, rotoscoping is anytime you're isolating elements by tracing around them to remove/alter background/mid-ground elements. This video does, indeed, fit the definition, since you have to trace around the man in front and the woman behind to isolate them from the edits made on the other elements of the video.

    Very nice as well.

  • Rotoscoping has more than one meanings. Get over it

  • how long did this take?

  • Comment removed

  • how long did it take to do this?

  • Where did you get the video clip from?

  • Appreciated.

  • can u give the tutorial fr this effect in Ae

  • This is great color isolation not rotoscoping See Fire & Ice (1983) or the Heavy Metal the Movie for examples of rotoscoping.

  • @Warsong27 do u have footage of this 300 movie can u give me

  • BAD ASS!...thanks for taking the time to break it down step by step!

  • Nice!

  • he says " this is Parta"

    right? hahahaha

  • or you could use a damn leveling effect.

  • is this rotoscope?

    or a color leaver effect?

isn't a rtoscope is the animation technique that is used by overlaping real life sequences

  • nice!! Took a while i bet :P

  • Rotoscoping is an animation technique in which animators trace over live-action film movement, frame by frame, for use in animated films.

  • @ivanlvhc

yes, rotoscoping is a animation technique, but also a technique used in movies, you make a mask/ draw a matte for each keyframe and then this matte is used to cut out or color correct a especific part of the scene

    greetings

  • This is rotoscoping. Rotoscoping is just doing SOMETHING on a frame by frame basis. Here, the matte is rotoscoped, but most people draw over footage to make glitchy animation.

  • hahah People are too hasty in their judgements. Makes me wonder if people really know what rotoscoping is? Well either way you deserve credit, dope shit.

  • what is rotoscoping exactly? is it like color corection? the dude in the link didn't quite explain to me what it is.

  • @dazzitboy

Rotoscoping is when you take an image and then outline the figures on different layers and modify them. Most of the time rotoscoping will be when the film is actually completely replaced by an overdrawn layer, but in this case the person used a form of rotoscoping when you isolate layers and modify their colors. A really good example of common fare rotoscoping is the music video for "Take On Me" by A-Ha. You can look it up on youTube.

  • It's really not rotoscoping. At all. I don't need to go anywhere or do anything to see that. It just isn't, ya dig!?! This is called color correction.

  • actually, it is rotoscoping....

in animation rotoscoping refers to tracing over live footage.

in visual effects it refers to manually creating a matte, which he is doing here frame by frame. so since he had to cut out the characters frame by frame, yes it is rotoscoping.

    wikipedia is your friend.

  • I like the XX's in your name...

  • song?

  • @TheAstralPictures Disturbed - Liberate

  • Good job man, I think it's really cool rotoscoping :)

    Keep it up!

  • its color correction.......

  • its rotoscoping + color correction.

cutting out the characters by hand is roto, and the color change is obviously the CC

  • great , u did it by moving every single point for every frames ?

  • @Bananajoe22 think I'll just leave it as it is, if that's ok with you?

  • @Bananajoe22 It doesnt take that long

  • @Bananajoe22 I personally don't think its having too much time in his hands. Just say instead of playing video games he learned something new, something he can use in the future and look professional.

  • Dude, please. never, ever, hell again do this! your title cunfuse the users. I was trying to learn more about rotoscope and you scrude me with this video with dont have more than 1 minute for nothing. For God sakes Don't ever Again!

  • There is nothing to learn in rotoscoping. You have to create a mask and animate it to cut the zone you want. Only practice can make you improve your habilities. As said in my other message, learn to use Imagineers Motor, and you can rotoscope faster than manually, if you need it, I can explain some things about that program (I´m not an expert, but I can do the basic things).

  • @AlemakMalakai you're telling Se7evfx that you screwed you for one minute of nothing? I've been to your channel... not that's a waste of time!

  • Ussing imagineers motor, you will love rotoscoping...

  • this is so obviously roto lol

  • "In the visual effects industry, the term rotoscoping refers to the technique of manually creating a matte for an element on a live-action plate so it may be composited over another background."

    That's from Wikipedia.

  • @SE7ENFX Aaaaand wikipedia is open-source

  • @SE7ENFX That is what he did. The new background was not as different as normal. It was rotoscoping though because he had one plate with a normal grade and another with a bleach bypass B&W grade.

So technically it was "the technique of manually creating a matte for an element on a live-action plate so it may be composited over another background."

  • @Adler36 I guess you learned how to spell "isn't" on wikipedia too?

  • @Adler36 yea it is

  • dude, this isnt rotoscoping.

  • Do you know what rotoscoping is? This IS roto.

  • did u do this frame by frame or did you use interpolated?

  • wait sorry, i didnt realise, i thought you were the guy who made it

  • Haha No need to apologize.

  • @plokoon12

"Rotoscoping is an animation technique in which animators trace over live-action film movement, frame by frame, for use in animated films."

This is deleting the background and adding colour correctors to different layers. This basic editing knowledge and you and the host of this video is wrong, and so is the link in the description. Wiki it if you dont believe me.

  • @TheIrishHYPE Yes, you are correct that is the definition of rotoscoping. Rotoscoping is also a compositing technique used to remove actors from a video or image. The person who posted this video rotoscoped the main character out of the original video and did color correcting to the background. He rotoscoped the After Effects mask around the character.

  • @plokoon12 look at description

  • @funrizwan Yeah, what about it? This is rotoscoping. Your dumb.

  • @plokoon12 no.......this is SPARTA!! :P

  • Its cool, but as said, its not rotoscoping...

  • Yes it is. He roto'd the mask.

  • it's 100% rotoscoping, dude

  • This guy does a good job!! seriously this is a really good effect and I will definitely be using it!!

  • cool thats not rotoscoping thouch

  • I made this when I was still kinda new to the program, it's called learning, and I wasted my time doing this because the more I know, the more I get paid, simple!

  • Because it's fun and satisfying? Why make any artwork...

  • Wow man...... must've taken a while. They could've easily made a way to change the mask shape using various motion tracking points. EASILY. I don't know why they didnt.

  • I know, a few weeks after I made this I found a script that does that!

    It's called "Tracker2Mask" and it's FREE!

    Just google it!

  • Really?!?! Wow

  • nice :)

  • Colour Isolation is just clicking on the colour you want to keep while turning everything else B&W...

Rotoscoping is cutting/removing someone or something from a video!

Just go to Google and type in...

"Rotoscoping in After Effects and Photoshop" and click on the first link!

  • Hey!

    Really nice work!

I'm really curious how did you do this, because I have a video in mind where I would like to use this technique but I am not sure yet how to do this.

It is not a Color Isolation becouse you made the whole dude in color not only one part!!! Did you do layers, mask or mess with hue and saturation?

  • Whose the band?

  • Sounds like Distubed. But I don't know what the song is called

  • Thanks for the band. The song's called "Liberate". Cheers.

  • Yeah I figured it out a few minutes later. But I forgot the Video name, so I couldnt fix it.

  • NICE!

  • what is the name of this movie please ?

  • 300

  • Wow how on earth did you not know that?

  • maybe hes from a different country or something

  • lol u kno im laughing my ass off

  • Seeeeriously? -.-

  • No the movie's called "The Three hundred musketeers"

  • Comment removed

  • Really nice. What is the song name. I know it's from disturbed, I had it on my computer before it craches but I don't remember the name.

  • Disturbed - Liberate

  • Realy nice work! Try making a tutorial... please :)

  • nuthin much to it just make a mask and shape it to him every frame

  • it's such a bitch eh?!

  • isnt there an easier way to do that effect rather than frame by frame??

  • Nope. There are people who make their living by doing nothing more then this.

  • Track the edges of your mask.

  • Brilliant :) Top effort

  • i know in america you have ntc 30 fps in europe you have pal and that's 25 fps ;)

  • Scotland is free!

  • When it comes to rotoscoping, I feel your pain!!!

    Top effort though!

  • The song is called Liberate by Disturbed!

I don't think it needs a tutorial you just have to draw round him with the pen tool on almost every frame... very boring! lol

  • AWESOME
