  • a first tme slow dance song an incredible woman......

  • This song makes me happy. Reminds of when my father was alive, and we drove to South Carolina during the summer to visit his mother and brothers and sisters that were still living there. I was a little girl of about 8 or 9 when this was out. Good memories. My life was so uncomplicated, and good...

  • @OlSkoolMusiQueen I feel ya I was only 12 years living in Chicago when this came out

  • @weluvmusick Simply put. I have loved this man since I was nine. People who passed my house knew that I was home if they heard Al Green songs. I am now 47, and some still do not understand with all of the Artist out, why I do not have an up to date singer. I love the music of Al Green and as I told my kids he will always be my favorite singer. PEACE!

  • @196465 I like all of Al's 70s music but beyond that era I just don't get it he's still a great singer without a doubt but his new music in my opinion just don't stack up to his old stuff

  • i love this song

  • I love those soft beautiful vocals at the end. What a one of a kind voice.

  • @vstarr89 no doubt

  • I've just put this gorgeous tune on my phone.....i'm so in love with this song! xxx

  • @TheCaulfield1 great !

  • 12 yrs. old . that was when i found out that music had lyrics

  • I'm still in love with Al Green after all of these years....when this came out i was eighteen years old and i still feel that way when i listen to Al.Love you,Mr Green.

  • I know it is mine so very much! Even tho I am white,,,always loved, so very loved soul music!!!!! TY

  • @jakex7 hey that's one of the wonderful things about good music it transcends all racial and social barriers I grew up in the 70s listening to classis rock like Bad Company, Areosmith. Led Zeppelin ELO and too many others to name but I never did drugs I just liked the music

  • Just In case you have any doubts this thang....

  • @hamburger229 Think I was 12 living in Chicago when that one came out 72 believe still one the best in Al's reportage

  • Love it! Reminds me of my youthful days so carefree and jolly.

  • @Oriisharoko66 yea me too

  • That voice transports you into another reality and it's one where love reigns supreme.

  • MY SONG!!

  • This is THE best song EVER

  • omg you guys don't you love me because I say I hate modern music and call it trash and can't spell correctly and love this stuff because this was true music zomg 50 cents is bad

  • It better be zero dislikes. :/

Who the fuck could disagree with the lyrical talent of Al Green?

  • He is one of the greatest entertainers. I am so blessed to have seen him in concert.

  • my man's got more soul in his toes than most people got in their soul

  • Kids talk about swagger..this guy had it for sure.

  • yeah...!

  • ONE OF MY FAVRIOTES BY AL GREEN

  • If there's a more soulful or smooth sounding tune out there, I know not of its existence. How many artists after the man bear his influence. Marvelous!

  • To saxyman9 Now thats a memory! Everybody has a different one but I like that picture you just painted.

  • that's my revrend

  • @monkmonk44 a 70s giant for sure

  • Great song, much better than MacArthur Park a terrible song

  • Nobody Better Than Al Green!!! Got in trouble coming home late from an Al Green concert at the Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans!!! It was worth it!!! My dad yelled so loud I thought the roof would come off the house. I'd do it again just to see the great Al Green sing again. Thanks for the posting.

  • @Saxyman9...AMEN! I agree also about girls today....they just put it all out there-and that is NOT sexy at all. A woman should be a woman. A lady at the right time...and when behind closed doors w ur man/husband...whatever he wants you to be. I certainly am sensitive to my husband's desires, but he would not like it at all if it were at the inappropriate times...Thanks for posting the timeless song weluvmusick!

  • just the song... better copy i think

  • I love this song

  • good ol al green baby!

  • Music today sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm an 80's baby... And my generation and those after me, need to learn to appreciate MUSIC (REAL MUSIC)

  • Now this is the man. I'd sing his music walking home from school. No ipod in those days. But, the song was in my head and still is. Blow Al, blow..Love u

  • A Blast from the past everyone! These where the days with some meaning. Brother Al Green was just a pleasure to hear out the stereo speakers from the fire escapes throughout the hood. Men were noble and women where such ladies leaving behind a trail of mystery...

  • @Saxyman9 true that

  • @Saxyman9 a trail of mystery huh? doze days sex wassn't so prevalent...so it must of been alot harder to guess women where thinking the same thing as us men...just wanted love not sex...and the mating ritual between man and woman must of seemed so much more sweeter, as if these times people especially city dwellers exploring their sexual/sensual side.

  • @jeremybombsquad Brother Bombsquad, I feel what you mean, I'm a city dweller whose had a taste of that southern country exposure, and there is a diffrence. Oh how sweet it was. I aint hatein and Im all for gettin yur Freak on but todays speed has skipped several levels. I remember holdin on to that girl without being threatened of her slippin into desireing one of her same. Too much of dat shit around like an epedemic. Keep it indoors and enjoy that adventure. Old school seekin sweet chalenges..

  • @jeremybombsquad PS. almost a year ago I ran into Dianna Ross @ Kennedy Airport. I saw the popparatcy makin all the fuss. I didnt know who it was? However I couldnt get the sister off my mind. Damm she is so fine and sassy. in one moment we made eye contact and I enunciated with my lips "Take me Home with you" She smiled that famous wide smile and approached me about arms distance and said out loud in Spanish " I would love @ have you over" OMG where r u. never was the same since. Shes my style

  • This song is so beautiful could listen to it forever, which I do. I just love it song!

  • i'm only 21 and i love al green, atlantic starr, teddy, the isleys, one way... all the greatest classics.. i'm an artist and i plan to bring soul back to the industry.

  • @k2damoney great !!! MAKE YOUR MARK

  • @k2damoney great you got good musical taste

  • @k2damoney it's nice to know someone of your age appreciates the music from "back in the day"...much success on your career!!!

  • @k2damoney Good for you. It is good to see that some young people enjoy real music. My folks brought me up on the old school music, and I thank them for that.

  • @k2damoney I feel ya. I'm only 7 and I love Michael Jackson and Madonna and KORN. I'm a big giant artist too and I plan on using art to manipulate the minds of people so they like soul and ketchup.

  • No over singing here, just soul from the Rev. Al Green. This song is the aroma therapy for the soul. There is no better way to calm the savage beast in me. Best of wishes and love to all.

  • WHen MuSiC StIll had SOuL!!

  • @Tylefever right on right on

  • These were the days when music was not just noise, but a form of expression. Unlike the lyrics of today that leave nothing to the imagination, this is music that helped conquer...music that spoke to the heart and soul.

  • I LUV THIS SONG

  • @901SMOKEMON me too great classic

  • @weluvmusick I was a youngster in high school, singing Al's greatest hits to my girl, while the other more popular students were on No Limit, Cash money. It did'nt ever get me laid, but I just loved how she would look at me when I would croon to her. Memories are precious, are they not?

  • @weluvmusick Those 70s songs had superb instrumentation for sure but a lot of their lyrics border on fantasy to me I don't know if that's why it didn't get you laid or not I always thought the guys begged too much in those songs but it still was the greatest era in r&b history to me 4 ever 70s

  • This song still reminds me of Willie Robinson, Jr. (I was about 14) WHENEVER I hear it, he comes to mind...smiling right now at the memory

  • Smoooooth. Music to make out to. Remember making out?

  • @970162cango yea I remember that's about it for now

  • One of my favorite Al Green classics!!

  • CLASSIC

  • @MrDwalker813 you know it baby

  • I looovvve this song and I grew up on it.But I remember my boy cousin(14years older than me) he would get drunk and put this song on repeat. And he gave us a drunken serenade, while fighting back tears because he misses his ex girlfriend...But it was fun .I guess.I just dealt with it because of AL....you never get tired of this song :-)

  • what happen to this type of music. y people dont make music for your heart no more everthing is about stupid shit... No body loves anymore all ppl do is hate that word "hate" is in damn near every song on the radio. somebody is talking about why is this person hating on me or they calling somebody a hater. the word hate was not use in music back in those days everything was about love.

  • Beautiful song. Makes me think of a special someone, I wish was still in my life

  • Ah my father introduced me to Al Green, he was astonished when I said I despised The Jonas Brothers, damnit this is real music right here!
