  • WOW this is great the whole song amazing. Thanks for puting it on youtube so all can enjoy it.

  • Most epic baseball song ever

  • A piece of U.S. history that is appreciated by all generations.

  • It always impresses me how the game of baseball like this song has endured for over 100 years. Through wars, corruption, depression, racism, steroids and strikes. It is truly the most American game for the amount of time spent playing and perfecting it.

  • I'm european and I'm soccer fan. But I love this song, is very funny

  • for Real Baseball fans!

  • 14 soccer lovin europeans disliked this video.

  • todos los estadounidenses son feos

  • 1908 after listening to this it seems just like yesterday

  • Jack Norworth's wife was Nora Bayes, one of the highest paid performers in America at that time. She also did a version of this song but then everybdy did.

  • It's "every SOU, Katie blew," not SUE. The sou was a low denomination of French coin just like the American cent. You could say Katie spent every cent she had on baseball games.

  • @TroyOi

A sue is a low value coin like a penny. So "Ev'ry sue, Katie blew" roughly means she spent all her money.

  • @trusweetie69 Just as lame as your bitch soccers ass you dick

  • "Every Sue - Katie Blew"

Anyone have a clue as to what that might mean? (Now, if "A Boy Named Sue" had been written 50 years earlier, it MIGHT be a bit suggestive... ;-) )

  • 0:07

last fans to see the cubs actually WIN the world series

  • Katie Casey sounds like my kind of girl if her idea of the perfect date is a baseball game!

  • Is this original song???

  • @MegaDavidcar Yes.

  • What a treasure!!! It´s a 103 years old song!!!

  • summer, ballgames, hot dogs, beer, little kids, families...

  • GO BREWERS!!!!

  • It's good to hear my grandfather once more!!!

  • RED SOX all the way!!!

  • this is just one of the many reasons why baseball is the best sport that has been, is, and ever will be played.

  • To think: this was state of the art the last time the Cubs won the World Series.

  • Let's Go Giants.

  • go yankees

  • Pretty creepy recording considering how old this is.

  • Wow! This is awesome. I'd love to have the original vinyl record of this song. Edison records? Very cool.

  • did he say babe ruth

  • Rays>Yankess or Red Sox

  • @vraydio small-ball, great managing, and playing match-ups is what baseball is about.... not buying an All-Star team

  • @vraydio Yeah a great team... great history, Tampa Bay baseball team is reknown around the world and has a great rep yeah true, the Red Sox or Yankees are below that yeah sure, and who is Babe Ruth and the rivality he made ho I think it's nobody.... Yeah long live Rays fuck Boston and New York!

  • im not even american and i love this song

  • Whats the BPM of this?

  • What is the picture at :40? Why are they holding their noses?

  • @bouncehoper probably to say that something stinks

  • @bouncehoper An old term for umpires was "You Stink", rather than the more mature "You F@#kin Suck" that's screamed now. Might be what that is?

  • @polishsoccerpmp93

No... I believe that would be the Arena Football League and Soccer

  • What a great recording of the early 20th Century! I love it! This makes me wish that Baseball season was already here... GO ROCKIES AND TWINS!

  • @EuropeYear1917 so now that baseball season is here i bet youve sucked a bunch of ROCKIES AND TWINS players dicks while listening to this song ...lol!!!

    BASEBALL FOREVER!

  • I saw a sign at last night's World Series winning game from a San Fran Giants fan in Texas it simply read -DAD- I MADE IT- I wanted to cry- I knew they were talking to me- they are all my kids- I am the father of the Chosen Generation. The sign holder was telling me he was one who survived the great trib and was still one of the winners of the Faithful Church- Thanks son for the sign. Now I must work with the other churches who did not win but need my help.

  • watch ing for school. Say if you go to Eastminster.

  • @kittylover459 i go to eastminster, (:

  • lol

  • WRIGLEY FIELD

  • The song in its entirety. I love it!

  • Come on Rays...your slacking

  • The antique phonographs illustrated should have been cylinder players not disc players! The men who wrote the song had never been to a ball game and would not attend one for another thirty years! If you want to get the whole story you should buy the book " Baseball's Greatest Hit by Strasberg, Thompson, and Wiles - ISBN 978-1-4234-3188-6 - Hal Leonard Books( 2008). Also included is a CD with 16 versions. Cost - 29.95 Also incl. - much baseball history, pictures, etc. Great Book! Enjoy!

  • @CD122344 It's amazing how ridiculously little most people today know about those early formats. But then, they weren't too bright back then either -- just not as stupid as they are now. Sir Joshua Reynolds said it best: "There is no expedient to which a man will not resort to avoid the real labor of thinking."

  • @TheRiqzster This was Edison's favorite saying which he had - printed and posted throughout his lab for all of his "workers" to see. I actually bought a reprint while visiting his lab in West Orange, NJ By the way, I removed my comment ' cause I had it in the wrong place.

  • Lol hey guy baseball rocks. Go suck a dick or something if you don't like it you fag.

  • @jlbroich It's so sad and boring that you need to comment on it and listen to the song..... erm. Grow up kiddo. :)

  • what if we had no baseball!!!I would be soooooooo sad!!!

  • baseball is a synonym of boooooring.

  • 1908... is tht the cubs world series?

  • @Stunnedstudios --- yes it was......the LAST time they won....hahahahahahahaha

  • The 8 people who disliked this doesn't have balls!

  • The verses are charming, and too infrequently heard!

  • I note from the "old" picture it's a game between Pittsburg & Chicago. Does anyone know which stadium this was taken at and the year?

  • i wish I was born then. But if so I wouldnt be able to send this message. I love computers!!!!!! Plus back then wasnt so violent. Less dumb people in the world. I think technology is the reason why we have grown volient. And Its my thought. I dont want you to take this message personnal.

  • wasnt so violent? there was a fucking world war you twat @caspercbo

  • @H0telCalifornia Im talking about music, cloths, technology. Back then was all classic. Now in the present is nothing but kaos!!! But that was just my opinion. I know war isnt nice. But thats why I said Wasnt___so___Much> Compare to now-it-days. YOu dont have to be an ass calling someone a twat or what ever that is? I know its a insult but around here We dont use it.

  • @H0telCalifornia Oh and my first message. I said Its my thoughts. I dont want anyone to take it personnal. Did you take it personnal? Seems like you were pissed off over a comment that you over looked

  • @H0telCalifornia -- not then dummy........WWI came later--check your history!!!

  • @purpleloid

#1: Hocky; are you goddamn kidding me?!

#2: if you don't like baseball and probably don't like this song, why the hell would you be watching this video? And if you just came here to comment, than you are only wasting your own and other's time.

  • The fact that an announcer says the title and singer of the song at the beginning makes me think this was recorded on one of Edison's cylinder records. That was common practice for cylinders.

  • man i love baseball

  • I tried and tried to understand this game and I could not unfortunately. But it's really fun game as one that played at school

  • @purpleloid then what are you doing watching this video? don't you have better things to do than troll around on youtube?

  • Dodgers are going all the way this year! Giants suck!

  • wow this song is so old, the cubs were world series champions when it was written

  • Bats pwn all.

  • Great song.

I support all the teams that the Great Babe Ruth played for

    BIG G

    British citizen

  • That song was written before Babe Ruth was born i think.

  • According to Wikipedia, George Herman "Babe" Ruth, the popular American baseball player, was born in 1895, but this song wasn't written until 1908, so Master Ruth would have been 13 years old at the time.

  • thanks for the info.
