Bloody Bill reflected the atrocities that been perpetrated upon Missouri back on the thugs that refused to allow Missouri to secede as its legislature had chosen. I'm more of a Quantrill man. Anderson & Todd were too reckless with the lives of their men, as they proved at Fayette in 1864. Only Quantrill's company refrained from that stupid attack. I'm not doubting any of them's courage, but in a guerilla war, courage is not enough, Intelligence is needed too, & that Col. Quantrill had in abundance. Sam Hildebrand was another great Missouri guerilla warrior.
