  • Is this the Carter Lancaster who plays lead guitar for Gordon Lightfoot. If so, I saw him at Lightfoot's recent concert at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.

  • It's a Dyers Brothers harp guitar. My dad played one back in the 70's

  • So beautiful. This is my band here watch?v=HUbMwaNY5Ts

  • that was beuatifull. Does he record his stuff?

  • Wow, would love to hear more from Carter. Sounds like quite an impressive player. TABS for this would also be awesome!

  • ya that was insane... could you find any of his other music??

  • omg, mr coates taught me guitar last semester, and carter did a presentation at our school today....

  • wonderful !! Tx man 4 this video :)

  • ya i saw him with coates too. hes very good.

  • whats up carter. I seen you play with kevin coats before. keep up the good work. I see your using the techniques I taught you.

  • Carter was my first and only guitar teacher back in 1982 and launched my love affair with playing that continues to this day. Great to hear him playing after all these years.

  • Nice guitar! Sounds really good!

  • very nice work and just the tip of the ice berg. My wife and I saw this gentleman open for Don Ross a few years ago. After 8 or 10 original songs from his new cd in alternate tunings, he did a sort of medley of different acoustic finger styles including blues in standard tuning which I thought was even more impressive. Later he performed with Don Ross.

  • To appreciate Carters control and finesse you have to listen to this clip on a big sound system. Anything less and you'll miss the resonance of the drones and the subtle nuance of Carters finger style. Watch the economy of effort he has, and how he uses the entire range of tones the harp provides.

    This is real ear candy.

  • Bloomin Fantastic, that's what I say. LG

  • Excellent tune, great writing and playing - way to go Carter! Imagine a fingerstyle guitarist that actually writes real melodies with a theme, motif and a structure, played in steady time and non-frenzied yet relaxed feeling. Why didn't other great writers think of that. Never mind... Henry Mancini, Stephen Foster, Irving Berlin already did.

  • Carter's one of those players who can't seem to win, place, or show at the Canadian Fingerstyle Competition. I don't know why. Too melodic and not flashy enough, I guess. Great to hear him on harp guitar. Thanks for posting.

  • what idiot rates this less than 5 stars ?? haha ..

    5 stars from me ..

    Jeff Williams / guitarist

PS a "harp" guitarist one day .. hehe when i get my hands on one :) .. some beauties in the background ..
