  • Thanks Happy Endings!

  • Awful game

  • FAKE

  • @o0xst lol troll here.

  • Was this a bowl game?

  • @EATmyARSENIC No.

  • why is flutie number 22 as a quarterback?

  • @dean44100 You can have any number in college, at any position. However, it's extremely wierd to have odd numbers. Ex. #99 at RB.

  • @dean44100 It was rare back then, but a lot of quarterbacks from the 20's through the 50's wore "non-quarterback" numbers. If memory serves me right, Bernie Kosar, the Miami quarterback, wore #20.

  • That throw was 65 yards. Not a bad arm for a guy who was only 5'9". Wade Philips is a stupid ass.

  • @tom12mvp 5'10 dummy

  • @flyersfan1430 Professional athletes' heights are always listed with their sneakers or their cleats on. Anyone who actually follows sports (you apparently don't) knows this, so with that being said, standing barefoot he was likely 5'9", Dummy. You missed the entire point anyways. For a guy of average height and build he had an incredible arm, especially to make that throw, Dummy. That was the point and the Flyers fucking SUCK, but I'm sure you already knew this too, huh Dummy? GO BRUINS-- REPEAT

  • @tom12mvp sorry but bruins suck too TROJANS!

  • @RomRomBeast Haha! Just realized you were referring to UCLA ... Agreed :-)

  • @tom12mvp ya :D

  • The only reason doug Flutie is popular

  • The Hail Mary:

AVE MARIA, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.

  • i could have thrown a pass like that but i took an arrow to the knee...

  • i have a huge portrait of doug flutie wen he was on new england with a card of authenticity and i found next to a trash can in an alley

  • Single thought...

  • Hail Mary, no Hail Mary, Keith Byars got hosed for the Heisman that year.

  • Whoops, I failed.

Doug Football? I am out of whack. Let me rephrase that:

"I have a signed football by Doug Flutie... what an honor!"

    -_-

  • I have a signed football by Doug Football... what an honor!

  • Ara Parseghian loved this....Catholic school beating Thug U

  • What an arm!

  • My Dad was #79 off Guard blocked to make that whole play happen.

  • @MrLukeGMac i think people watched this vid to see doug flutie..

  • @MrLukeGMac nice

  • OMG! Awesome!

  • nice little 65 yard bomb....yeah Doug!

  • where my swoodiepoopers at?

  • @The7ouda123 Swoodilypoopers in da house!

  • The amount of holding by number 79 is fucking crazy

  • 27 years ago today!

  • Where can I get this whole game on DVD or online? This was a great game!

  • what number was Al Bundy?

  • flutie flakes!!!!

  • @fukutubu I bought some Flutie Flakes once, they were actually pretty good!

  • I met Doug Flutie

  • @FlameraidingV2 wow that's awesome! I almost got to meet him, i was so bummed.

  • flutie gunned that shit down 60+ yards

  • LMAO! Look at that pile haha...did Flutie survive?

  • Great throw....but epic catch

  • Comment removed

  • Wow....

  • cool. but not as cool as the 1980 holiday bowl known as the "miracle bowl". It was Smu 45 and BYU 25 in the 4th quarter. BYU scored an amazing catch touchdown...then onside kick and BYU recovered it. Then they scored on a deep deep pass. And then they stop SMU and SMU is punting and BYU BLOCKS THE PUNT. Then when there is 3 seconds left on the clock BYU does a Hail Mary and WINS THE GAME!

Onside kick recovery, blocked punt AND a hail mary. Thats like three miracles in one. watch it on youtube!

  • @southpaw102 huge comeback, led by Jim McMahon

  • thrown from his own 36 yard line, caught 1 yard deep in the endzone! 65 yard bomb!

  • Damn that was scud missile! Awesome.

  • Flukie. Hope he's taking good care of Keith Byars' Heisman.

  • @walstib77 - Jealous much? Mr. Flutie was a heck of a football player. CFL and NFL. Keith Byars might have deserved the heisman, but giving Doug the moniker "flukie" is about disrespectful of someone who knew and knows how to play at EXTREMELY high levels.

    Get over it.

  • Mike Ditka loved Doug

  • my coach was Bob Fitzgerald (:

  • Is the Brett Musberger as the lead commentator? Or is someone that sounds like him?

  • @cardinalrock11

    It was indeed Bret Musberger.

  • This is what is meant by "teach me how to dougie."

  • I played for Leominster AYF. & we played doug flutie's team. we beat them 62-34 in the Massachusetts 8th grade State Championship. i got his autograph after the game:) he was so pissed!

  • How did a small guy like him throw it 65 yards? Even 215 lbs QBs today can barely throw it that far

  • @veryslyfox COLLEGE FOOTBALLS ARE SMALLER THAN NFL FOOTBALLS

  • I always like Flutie. He seems like a really cool guy, and he was a good QB, but If the receiver dropped the ball, would Flutie be as famous today?

  • pound 4 pound best qb.........

  • If you look closely, you can see that Lebron traveled.

  • flutie man I guess im your cousin or somthing, except that I am Lebanese and it is spelled here as Flouty hahah

  • This has to be the single most famous pass completion in the history of college ball. It boggles the mind to imagine how this one play defined his career and what might have been had that pass not been caught

  • @arkady714 I think Kordell Stewarts pass for Colorado At Michigan at the big house in 1994 was more spectacular. . .the ball traveled 74 yards in the air!!!! I do love seing this play however because little miami university's football team is nothing but a bunch of low down degenerate ghetto scuzzbucket drug using women raping crime committing shitbags! I love to see little miami lose. . what a shithole their football program is!

  • Why don't they ever give credit to the guy who caught the ball?

  • Just sat next to Doug flutie at a red sox game bitchhhh

  • @SubliminalAfterbang What do you mean? Flutie acted snootie?

  • @SubliminalAfterbang I think women always give YOU a subliminalafterbang message.. . that being you did not fulfill them. . . your tiny little penis disapointed them and you came and went to limp before they even got warmed up!

  • If you didn't see the entire game, you wouldn't understand the context of this play.

Miami was king back then. It rained the entire game, and the score went back & forth, right until the end.

The quarterbacks were miked. On a 4th (& 1) & goal, the TV announcer said, "let's hear what Miami is going to call. With mike turned on, Bernie Kosar barked, "LET'S RUN IT RIGHT THE FU#K AT 'EM!". The announcer apologized to the audience.

The BC defense stopped them at the 1!

  • I remember it well. I (with family in Miami so naturally a Miami fan) was visiting my step-mother's family (all Catholics and BC fans) in NJ. We were all sitting around watching the game, and I was a pretty happy camper. 6 seconds left and Miami was about to win, then all of a sudden - damn that Doug Flutie.

  • I watched it happen live and could not believe it

  • all I can say is...suck it Miami

  • danning1....There was 0 seconds left in the Championships...it was tremendous, the anouncer was probably in shock

  • Go eagles

  • i bet he got too much pussy haha

  • My uncle was number 40 :P

  • @Dophinillie my dad was #33

  • @Dophinillie then im ur uncle

  • @sickwickert what's up Jimmy

  • Comment removed

  • @powell235 21 year old cat loves to be vacuumed and my uncles the faggot. hahaha fuckin dumbass.

  • Comment removed

  • @powell235 sucks to your cat, faggot.

  • Comment removed

  • @Dophinillie My uncle works at a rock quarry ;) you jelly?

  • @PaleGFX ...what's rock quarry?

  • Almost as good as lyerlas catch against glencoe

  • -That wasn't Gerard Phelan who caught that ball. God caught that ball.

    -No, God threw it.

  • Not to take anything away from Flutie, he made a tremendous play here, but that announcer is a bit of a moron and overrates what happened. It isn't like a Hail Mary or a great pass hasn't ever been done at the end of a game before to win it. Does the name Roger Staubach ring a bell for this clueless announcer? I've seen more "miraculous" stuff happen in football before, like when running backs seem to somehow break 15 different sure tackles to run for a long touchdown.

  • sucks to be on the bottom of the dog pile

  • You gotta understand, what made this play so ridiculous is that Flutie had been doing stuff like this his whole career. Usually a Hail Mary is just a heave, but we all *knew* Flutie was going to pull it off again. And he did! That guy was unbelievable in college, he was truly magical to watch.

  • only if i wasnt under 6 foot could be a pro qb but the nfl aint looking for a 5'9 150lb qb r they

  • @kantelier - What are you talking about? Flutie played in the NFL and CFL for years! He was voted best player in the CFL *six* times, started for at least three NFL teams that I can think of offhand (New England, Chicago, Buffalo) ,was a Pro Bowler in Buffalo, and finished his NFL career in New England kicking the first drop kick extra point in 50 years. He might actually be NFL Hall of Fame one day! Not bad for a guy 5'9 and 150.

  • @plkjnoj hes not 5'9 he 5'11 175 and 2 inches are a big difference

  • @kantelier hes 5/10 and 3/4 to be exact on height

  • @plkjnoj he's actually 5'10 and around 180 but could have been around that early on in his career

  • @plkjnoj He also played for the L.A. Rams and the New Jersey Generals of the USFL. Everywhere he has been, he has fought like hell to keep his team in games and done a very good job of doing so. Doug Flutie rocks.

  • @plkjnoj Flutie was awful, he had an NFL career that included only 14,000 yards, 86 TDs, 68 INTs and a completion percentage under 55 percent. Flutie only made all 16 starts once in his career, when he was 39 years old.

  • @plkjnoj also the chargers but yea hof for sure

  • @plkjnoj He was only 150lbs? Holy shit!!

  • @plkjnoj and the chargers, too

  • @plkjnoj I don't remember if he started or not but at one point I think he was also with San Diego for at least a season

  • ah the good ole days of the power I

  • id rather have a little flutie than a big johnson thumbs up if you remember that qoute

  • my dad snapped that shit baby lets gooooo!!!! Although I like to give him shit for falling:) hahaha

  • Nearly 65 yards in the air, that throw! I also remember seeing this as it happened - fantastic finish

  • I remember watching this whole game, I was 23 at the time. You talk about a shootout literally, no defense in this game at all. One of the greatest college games that I ever saw. Unfortunately, this play seems to be the only part of the game that still exists or it seems like it. Gerald Phelan still gets credit for the catch. He still gets interviewed about that catch, even now. Him and Flutie were roommates at the time, so they probably talked about doing something like this to win a game.

  • Damn was that like a 15 step drop? lol

  • why doesent the kid who caught it get any credit?

  • @WalshedHD do u play college football? bro, i mean kudos to him for catching it, but to take literally a 5 step drop that turns into a scramble and then a random hail marry at like 45-50 yards and for it to be right there, that is talent... i'd say lucky catch and good job, but amazing throw

  • @griffinathlete Or possibly vice versa eh? Maybe just a lucky throw - There is no talent behind a Hail Mary, hence the name. Its a luck shot. Thats why you only see at the end of a close game or towards half time to even up the score. What really should be laughed at is the terrible D-backs who failed to snatch it in the air, that thing was up for grabs.

  • home town pride!! flutie: natick MA

  • why does he wear #22?

  • @thegoodfellow41 It's a QB number....

Goes up to 24, just not usual.

  • i remember this game. i think there were 3 tds in last 2 mins of the game. bc scored then miami scored and then the hail mary by flutie .great game : O )

  • Flutie's Lebanese. Represent!!!

    Remarkable play

  • For Flutie, for Flutie, we sing our proud refrain!

  • back when beating Miami actually meant something

  • 22 thats my number in football lol awesome

  • thts just bad defence right there.........

  • 89 people from the University of Miami watched this video.

  • for the most part it was a hail mary to be perfectly honest how many hail marys are successful the secondary anticipated on the pick too soon leaving the wide out left in the red zone to me it was more of the wide out being patient and maintaining poise doug really didnt know where he was going with the ball he just put up a prayer good play though but i give it to the wide out all day

  • Why can't they show Jimmy Johnson ripping his hair out!!

  • In Soviet Russia, ball throw you into endzone.

  • w w w . PCMACUNIVERSE . c o m FOR ALL PC AND MAC REPAIRS!

  • 60 yard strike!

  • Always love redoing this play on NCAA college classics

  • That was such a flute

  • FLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

  • this announcer needs to stfu

  • @babycomeback01 ur a dick whole id be excited to

  • Flutie was one lucky SOB on that play.

  • @4ulefties True . . . but luck counts.

  • HEEEEEEE DID IT! FLUTIEEEEEEEE DID IT!

  • I didn't see this play, but I heard the ABC radio call with Keith Jackson... it was something like "Flutie takes the snap, drops back, rolls to his right, th'ows it as far as he kin... and it is CAUGHT FOR A TOUCHDOWN!" You couldn't hear anything else after that for the crowd screaming.

  • @jhunter1163 that's great we don't care

  • @babycomeback01 lmao. successful troll.

  • One lucky play cost Keith Byars the Heisman

  • @buckeast1 The Heisman voting had already been completed at the time this game was played . . . .

  • @buckeast1 How do you figure? You can look at the date this game was played and figure out like any 5 year old that the voting for heisman was already done before this game was played..... do your research before running your mouth with such outlandish comments.

  • @agentbong138 it's ok my little friend, back away from the cliff and take a deep breath. When you get home, have your mommy put the sharp objects up where you can't reach them and hide the rope. Any way you slice it, the wrong man was awarded the Heisman.

  • haha we win oh no oh no good throw FUCK THE CAUGHT IT

  • O man, as an 80's child, I remember those short jerseys!

  • My dad left to get milk thinking nothing was going to happen...man was he wrong!

  • We're so quick to give all the credit to the quarterback, but if it weren't for the receiver leaping and catching the pass, they wouldn't have won the game. It takes more than one player to win a game.

  • @MyPersonalVendetta by "leaping" you mean falling down, right?

  • @anwealde: Falling makes it more the receiver's luck than the quarterback's luck.

  • yay boston!

  • @ownageturtle Now how the hell is that fake and gay

  • @ownageturtle its not fake you deuche that really happened

  • @ownageturtle then why is it on CBS douchebag?

  • @ownageturtle grow up dude.

  • My dad saw this on tv with my mom when they first met at college. They were late catching a movie so my mom was like "it's over! can we just go already!" Then my dad says "its not over till its over". The Doug Flutie play occured ten seconds later...

  • @jesuswashere0000 yep I made the whole thing up...

  • I LOVE ADVERTISEMENTS. <3

  • jags hail mary was better

  • @TheGhostOfThe904

    naaaaaaah

  • This is a TD Pass that can make a QB a Legend

  • this gave me shivers

  • My uncle was Doug's best friend growing up, and they played football together growing up on the same team. When my poppop died in 2006, Doug's parents went to my poppop's funeral, because they became friends while my uncle and Doug grew up.

    Exciting, huh?

  • @crosschain95 nobody cares...

  • @FALUKYOURMOM Oh sorry. I wrote that because I thought everyone would care. Sorry. Sorry man. I apologize. I had no right to waste your time and tell you that stupid dumb life story.

Sorry again man. Sorry. I repent all of what I said. Why am I so fucking stupid? Why do I type shit nobody cares about? I'm fucking dumb man. I don't think before I do shit. I'm a fucking loser. I wish I was fucking dead.

  • @crosschain95 Again, nobody cares so shut the fuck up old man!
