The fact that he told this story only in Seattle, right after the flight, and not in any subsequent w00tstock event - not even in Portland, the very next night - makes the likelihood of this being a promotional lie pretty slim. The average American owns some kind of protection (melee, stealth, and mechanic weapons) and if the gov. would get off our backs about it, we could patrol our own damn streets and protect our own property; if someone breaks into my house, especially with intent to harm, you can bet they will leave in an ambulance or body bag.

Government has become a huge racket, owned (via donations and lobbying) primarily by corporations (banks and otherwise), and it is time that People tell it NO until it gets back in its cage and does the job we chartered it for: establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.

I didn't even realize it myself until I was at my friend's house on the other side. We mailed the knife back home so I wouldn't have to risk getting ganked by security on the way back. @DonHar426 This wasn't part of a lecture circuit, nor was it a Mythbusters promotion. This was from an event called w00tstock, and Savage wasn't the focus of it, just one of many participants. The fact that he told this story only in Seattle, right after the flight, and not in any subsequent w00tstock event - not even in Portland, the very next night - makes the likelihood of this being a promotional lie pretty slim. With those new facts in mind, I'll let you guys get back to your bickering.

Savage here points out the absolute waste of public funds going towards "security". The average American owns some kind of protection (melee, stealth, and mechanic weapons) and if the gov. would get off our backs about it, we could patrol our own damn streets and protect our own property; if someone breaks into my house, especially with intent to harm, you can bet they will leave in an ambulance or body bag.

I've done all my studying at home between work shifts while watching my kids when my wife went to work.

@DonHar426 I can believe it happened. I forgot to take one of my folding knives out of my bags one time and the TSA missed it (I had that bag as carry-on). I didn't even realize it myself until I was at my friend's house on the other side. We mailed the knife back home so I wouldn't have to risk getting ganked by security on the way back. However, they will tear my checked baggage apart every time I pack my boots for some reason...
