It is very clear to me that the only reason why Stafford's pioneering work on cybernetic governance has not been adopted is because politicians fear looking ignorant and they would rather not make questions if they do not understand what is in front of them.
It seems perverse to suggest that “If he'd stuck to machines he might have been a nice man. As it is, he'll be remembered for a horrible system of injustice and repression”. By whom will he remembered for “a horrible system of injustice and repression”? He fought for freedom at many levels and in many countries all his life. A man who worked with Amnesty International to help release political prisoners all over the world. He wrote widely about the importance of freedom at an individual level.
This seems an odd statement. After all, Stafford Beer worked very closely with Tony Benn who became Minister of Technology in Harold Wilson's government. I understand from Beer’s writings that Tony Benn then failed to implement Beer's work. Surely, it's a matter of historical record that Stafford Beer complained bitterly that he was unable to get any member of any government in England to understand the importance of his work.
Beer was effectively ostracised by the political classes in the United Kingdom who failed to understand the relevance of his work. Happily, this state of affairs did not exist in many other countries for whose governments Beer worked with such notable successes.
I wonder therefore how anybody could suggest “Thanks to his teachings, the UK is falling to pieces”. Perhaps it would be truer to say that it is because his teachings were not heeded that the United Kingdom is falling to pieces.
To those of us who knew him, he was one of the kindest and most generous of individuals.
So having made these statements, perhaps it would be possible to explain the thinking behind these opinions as they seem so totally opposed to the writings of Stafford Beer, or the man himself.
@malcolmbryant Yes, thats right. But you ought to investigate this bloody Beer character even further. Thanks to his teachings, the UK is falling to pieces.
@realzoomy. Well I have read quite a lot about him, being interested in systems theory. I would be very interested indeed to learn more about what you are saying, How has he impacted on the Uk's decline, exactly?
@realzoomy A couple of examples would be a good start to backinng up any point you're failing to make by what is so vague a comment as to be meaningless?
@JimBCameron Beer was involved in the New World Order. He was a man who played at being God. The New World Order plan is responsible for giving authority to criminals, paedophiles and murderers. Stafford Beer should have thrown all his funny diagrams in the bin and bought himself a Bible
@JimBCameron Well I suggest that you do so. I won't let you waste my time, I am too busy trying to help institutional child abuse survivors and stopping even more children being stolen and raped. Research Stafford Beer and Common Purpose for yourself.
@realzoomy Another totally vacuous reply just suggesting his part in a huge conspiracy theory. I wish you well in your work, but quite frankly you totally fail to lend any substance to your insinuations regarding Beer. I'd be quite prepared to accept any genuine proof if you were able to present it as I am simply interested in his ideas on cybernetics and not out to defend his person , I guess you're not alone in feeling they're wasting their time on this.
@JimBCameron At least I have a proper identity. You dont! There is nothing on your channel to show who the hell you are! Why is that then? Do you have something dreadful to hide?
@realzoomy er, because I only look on You Tube for music & stuff that interests me like most folk, not as some kinda social networking site. Now you're just making the whole 'conspiracy theorist' mentality that much more creepy as well as now turning your attempt at vague insinuations on to me, which suggeststo me you're other ones have no substance (either that or you're just trolling).

@realzoomy No, sorry, that's as vague & unspecific as your last post, I'm still no closer to any specifics I could look into for myself?
