  • are these sprouts only for eating? like, can you plant the sprouts afterwards in the garden to grow sunflower plants? lol

  • We have begun doing this.. great info get the word out!

  • Scary tap water? Where do you live?

  • It seems like you would need to get pasteurized soil to prevent illness from sprouts - ecoli could easily be in this soil - just soo many people on earth in many ways we can't live like they did 100-200 years ago...

  • i had a bird feeder which had sunflower seeeds in and when the birds droppped the seeds they grew on my grass :) but it was very wet because i live in england

  • can I sprout them in water, I dont like soil

  • How beautiful!!

  • You Rock!

  • can you keep growing them in the jar like that? Or do you HAVE to grow them in soil?

  • I find that my soil gets moldy- perhaps because i live in such a humid city. Should I just put them in the dark?

Also cannot find organic black oil seeds, where do you get yours? thanks!

  • Nice job Natasha. I'm going to go grow some right now!

  • Is sunflower also an example of phytoremediation plant? That is helpful to degrade, radioactive contamination in the environment..

  • I bought some sunflower seeds recently and they did fantastically up until I put them in the soil. After that they were in a holding pattern for a few days, then wilted and died. Do you know what might have gone wrong?

  • hehehe ahhhh i like you your a nice person thanks :)

  • Very inspiring and clear presentation. Thank you!

  • i brought Plantarium tube and managed to grow 4 sprouts out of 6 seeds given. I kept 2 of the sprouts and have transferred them to a pot of soil. The sprout is a tad flimsy as the stem is thin and long. Should i start given fertiliser? What kinds of fertilisers?

  • So how long would a plate last? do they continue to grow once you cut them or do you need to start a new plateful once you've used them?

  • awesome video i love how when you took the plate off it was like a mini forest

  • Hy! You are trully an inspiration... it all sounds very easy.

I am trying it right now... bad part is that i am not so sure about the soil i am using( not anorganic but not sure it s pretty favorable for growing stuff in it either). Also those little white tails of the seeds seem to pop out quite randomly and some of them never pop. Can t wait for my first little sunflower plant to grow.

  • Why dont you just put them into good quality soil or compost?Thats what i tend to do and it never fails

  • USE A SPRAY BOTTLE TO WATER WORK BETTER

  • Great video, thank you. And has anyone ever told you, you look a lot like Shakira? :)

  • I am having trouble with the seeds getting moldy afrer taking plate away?

  • Otherwise, can I just use the "regular" sunflower seeds? (the black ones with the WHITE stripe)

  • I can't find those seeds. All the "Black Oil" Sunflower Seeds online are for BIRDS!

Where do you get the seed for human consumption.

BTW, a lot of those Blk Oil seeds specifically say, "not for human consumption".

    Thanks.

  • If anyone has a Bodum for making tea or coffee, you can use that for soaking. I like it because you can use the plunger to make sure all the seeds are submerged. Otherwise, some of the seeds float on top and are not really contacting the water. Just a tip that works for me.

  • you go girl

  • LOL @ spring water!

  • spring water.... are you fkn serious, LOL

  • @thehittmann1981 Probably because city water is GROSS stuff. Just use bottled or filtered water.

  • @MicrowavedTofu pretty sure this nutjob needs some sunlight and some real food.

  • this is sooo cool natashaaaa :)

  • hello fellow soil sprouter, though we don't do your preliminary seed soak... replicating i guess that such isn't what's worked on for planting outside, but the ground with rains / temperature. so cycled peat moss mix to texture that they take too readily, then no watering once in shorty. tried compost extra organized steps~

we also cover our porcelain bowls to root, but with larger diameter toward edge of container not seedlings and lightly. to not stop a show of love. anticipated as by clay

  • You look like an extremely sickly woman. Do these spourts help you with your medical condition?

  • @BlasphemousPothead How can one think she looks "extremely sickly" and onother think shes outrageously gergeous! obviously your judgement has been impaired!!!

  • @georgeLUVharrison

The one who sees impairment is fooled and in fact impaired.

  • @georgeLUVharrison i agree! extremely impaired lol

  • @BlasphemousPothead

You look like an extremely insecure person. Insulting and knocking people down in a pathetic attempt to build your fragile self esteem. She is a beautiful person, inside and out. She is here to help people better themselves and improve their health. More than can be said for you.

  • @jgfergus

You seem like a very insecure person. Assuming things about me when I have made no personal or insulting statements whatsoever. You need to think about your actions a little more

  • can i use bird seeds for planting? do bird seeds have chemicals?

  • Comment removed

  • can i use bird seed that are stock in market in a year?

  • i might need to watch that a couple of times thanjks

  • ;-)

  • great video! interesting that you sprout the seeds before putting on soil, another video on here they sprout them in the soil. do you think there is an advantage one way or the other ?

  • Hello. Where did you get your sprouting jar and/or lid? Thank you

  • wy can you just plant the sunflower seeds

  • I read that it's best to let the seeds sprout in a DARK place while they are in the jar. Thanks for the great video, Natasha!

  • i bought a mammoth sized sunflower seed packet and stuck one in a tiny pot too see if it would grow, completley forgot about it and now about 3 weeks later i found it and they seedling has about 3-4 leaves and is about 1 1/2 inches tall! sooo cool.

  • what do you mien by organic soil?

  • @tosullivan15 Not chemically treated soil

  • @RawRadiantHealth ya cool but chemicals are what make up nearly every thing. so how can you say "Not chemically treated" do you mien no extra chemicals add.

  • @RawRadiantHealth Great video, thank you. By the way, has anyone ever told you, you look a lot like Shakira? :)

  • @tosullivan15 Miracle Grow has an organic soil that is specially for vegetables. (It comes in an orange bag) I have had good results with it!

  • Wow, I love you.. Good vibes.

  • I grow loads of sunflower sprouts :-) Definitely my fav!

Gosh, it's a little hard work in a kitchen though ... I'm so happy I can do loads of trays in the garden.

  • Thanks so much for this video! I was hoping for a sprouting video and I actually have sunflower seeds soaking so I can do this tonight! :) I love your videos and would like to sign up for another juice feast soon. i don't know if I would have made this far without you! :)

  • Awesome!

  • That looks really easy. What do you do with the dirt afterwards?

  • That is really good question. I was wondering if the dirt was reusable too.

  • @calamari56527 dirts not re-usabe, compost!!

  • @norxcontacts compost

  • How long does it take for a sunflower to grow?

  • This might be a stupid question but is this the process for growing any type of sprouts?

  • I love your videos and your energy! :) I want to try to grow my own sprouts.

  • It looks like crumbled Oreos, and the sprouts look like shaved coconuts. mmmmmm

  • what is a raw food diet? like don't eat cooked food?

  • most people who say they are on a raw food diet are pretty much following a 'sunfood' diet meaning eating things that are grown from the sun, but not animal products like meat, eggs and dairy. Hope that helps

  • Yep

  • Hi Natasha, Great video! You've inspired me to grow some of my own sprouts! :)

Earlier today I bought raw organic sunflower seeds in bulk for salads. - They had the shell removed already. Could I use these for sprouting or does the shell have to be on them still?
