(face-palm) It never ceases to amaze me, the number of hunters? who think meat mauling magnums (read as more gun) is the answer for improper bullet placement (read as piss poor marksmenship). I've had to follow up on three deer shot with magnums ranging from 7mm Rem to 375 H&H, that last being a Texas heart shot. All three met a merciful end with either my 7x57 on 6.5x55. A 300 Whizbang Magnum isn't going to give a mediocre shooter any more effective range than what I have with my 7x57.
@MultiAsphaltcowboy I will tell you the same thing i told the rest of people that were like you YOURE IGNORANT!!!
I am not a meiocre shot whats so ever. I have yet to shoot a deer that ran more than 15yds if they even moved from where i shot them so if you dont like this video i appologize that you were dumb enough to click on it. And by .300 whizbang magnum you mean the .300 rem mag. Thats not even what this videos about its about .300 RUM and I know that they are bigger but if you do the
@MultiAsphaltcowboy Continuation: Research on this caliber they make readily accessible lower loads so I could still shoot a deer with a bullet going on the same ballistics as my .30-06 but then when i go for elk, moose, and bear i can up the loads... Do you research before you decide to be an asshole....
Her is an idea, Get off your porch and try stalking the deer. 30-06 is way more gunt hen you need. A little bit of range time and you should be all set. Try getting to with in 150 yards.
@northernedge100 Ok i would like to clear up that i do shoot deer with 100 yards many times a season. So you can not be ignorant. I shoot as these deer as easy shots and for there furs because they are albinos and piebalds.
@troutfisher98 The .300 win mag is going to ruin alot of meat. Work on you shot placement with the .223 or 30-06. Instead of spending your money on a big gun that will kick the crap out you spend it on ammo and range time for what you have. look into a savage .308 if you have to have a new gun, They are cheaper and can get out to 500 yards with no problem.
@northernedge100 Shot placement is not problem for me i have yet to shoot a deer that ran more than 15yds for me and i was going to get a .308 but i got my .223 instead. I didn't intend on my .223 being my deer rifle but it did. But when talking about meat being ruined the .223 ruins more meat that the .30-06 at least it did so far every time for me... I might start using my Savage .270 though now..
@111fishkiller Your ignorance towards others amazes me if ignorance made a sound your meer presence in a room would be deafening. I shoot with in 150 ALL the time. So before you start being ignorant and using foul language towards a 14 year old boy that you know nothing about i suggest you find out a little bit. I wish you a good day though and a good life and that you learned from this that that is not the way to treat people
30-30,30-06,.308, 300 WIN MAG, 300 REM ULT MAG ARE ALL .30 CALIBER. The case desides how "big" the round is mostly with these above. If you are selecting a deer caliber think of cost per round, if it's even available in stores regularly, and how much it is going to kick the chit out of you. I have a 7rem mag & 300 win mag. both great deer guns, but 300 rem ult mag will kick the chit out of you even more than those rounds. Savage & Rem 700 good guns to look at.
I shoot 2 different guns a 300. weatherby and a 300.rem ultra mag i have never had a deer run with the ultra mag and few i have had to track with the weatherby so i would go with one of those 2 and if the deer run it wont be far.
I've never shot the .300RUM. But I do know its a beast. My first and only rifle is a Remington 700 chambered in .300 win mag. A very flat shooting round and plenty of heat behind it. I love shooting it, tons of fun. Id say a bit cheaper than .300RUM. My vote is for .300 win mag.
@LastCaress7 I have actually heard alot of good things on the win mag. And you are right the rounds are less expensive. But i was just told that the win mag was just a step up from a .30-06. And the .300 RUM has the power level ammo so if i go with power level 2 it's the same in ballistics as the .300 win mag.
@LastCaress7 Continuation: If i go with power level 1 it's the same as the .30-06 the RUM just seems too be so adaptable and i also plan on doing big game hunting in the future. As far as the 700's go they are beautiful rifles my brother shoots one and I like the feel of the gun.

You are a blathering idiot sonny-boy.
If you're to fukkin lazy to leave your porch to kill a deer 600yds. away, why not build a mortar tube and bomb the fukkers?
Have U ever given any thought to actually LEAVING YOUR HOUSE AND ACTUALLY HUNTING THE DEER?
If U can get within 150 yds. of one U can kill it with a 30/30...
