Pretty sure Spark Unlimited is making battlefront 3. Their job descriptions, what we know about the game, it all adds up to Lucasarts and Battlefront. Even their recent twitter posts add up to Battlefront.

@TonyEvans96 I beleive it was actually cancelled because they didnt want it to compete with the force unleashed, besides lucasarts are always making good star wars games, they never shut down. Maybe after the force unleashed sieres ends (yes i beleive they will make a force unleashed 3) theyll put the next battlefront.(because renegade squadron and elite squadron were like 3 and 4) Lets keep our hopes up :)

heres some of the stuff i hear BF3 might (and hopfuly) will have

more factions, Mandalors, Sith Troopers and those guys from the PC games

Custom Class. kinda like the PSP one but more options

New Heros, Clone Commandos, and the characters from the tv seires

Alternet Story Line, like the "WHAT-IF" storys in the DBZ games

New Maps, i hear there is un-charted planets and you might see them

To be honest, I love the SW BF series but Elite Squadron wasn't all that fun. Felt weird. I just got it two days ago and I am being honest. The maps doesn't feel complete and the space fights are a tad boring. So I REALLY hope that the developers do continue their work on this one. I really want one, it'll be a really sick game that would hook me to it for a long time.

They weren't far enough ahead, the multiplayer was not nearly the way they wanted it, and i think that Lucas Art recalled the project... I just hope Rebellion doesn't get to finish it. (what free radical had was ported to the psp in Elite Squadron)

aparently the project has been shuffling between rebellion (psp battlefront designers) and pandemic (origin of BF1 N 2) but i saw a post saying its now with pandemic but others belive its with lucas arts and they havn't said anything,,,, now dont get your hopes up i also read that it might be released somewhere in 2010 - 2011 (so probley mean they are going to talk about it to the public i dont know im hella pissed that no official word is out yet)

Yea, Lucasarts basically took a great game, (battlefront 3) Stopped production on it, and instead released The Force Unleashed, (which took about an hour to beat, then I never played it again -.-) because they thought it would hurt the sales of Force Unleashed... Then they took the story line of BF3, and gave it to Elite Squadron, which will be a shit game :).
