I have been reading political things for a long time. I've read all of the Federalist Papers, the Constitution, the speeches of Abraham Lincoln. A great work few read: "Democracy in America" by de Toqueville, and was he clarevoyant.

The reason why it was called the Federalist Papers is that these essays were published in many news papers across the colonies for the purpose of convincing the readers of the benefit to them to ratify the Constitution.
What was written at the time was an amalgamation of the thinking of John Locke and what the British people gained from the Magna Carte, which put limits on the powers of the king. Limited rule, having checks and balances, was of prime importance, the rule of law.
I guess we have a different understanding or these essays....I know the authors John Jay -James Madison (my father was named after his last name) - Alexander Hamilton - my understanding is that the essays were published in multiple newspapers as a series using the pseudonym Publius - they were later published as an entire work ergo the "papers" label - Locke had some influence on Hamilton, but I do not think his philosophy would bode well with conservatives since he suggested giving up rights

I think one of gov't's prime task is education, but we are producing a classless society not in the sense that all are equal. I try to never discriminate against Blacks in my personal interactions with them. Each person is an individual unto themselves. The reason why it was called the Federalist Papers is that these essays were published in many news papers across the colonies for the purpose of convincing the readers of the benefit to them to ratify the Constitution.
What was written at the time was an amalgamation of the thinking of John Locke and what the British people gained from the Magna Carte, which put limits on the powers of the king. Limited rule, having checks and balances, was of prime importance, the rule of law.

I think one of gov't's prime task is education, but we are producing a classless society not in the sense that all are equal. It seems all are equally inarticulate and dull of wit and prone to the grosses vulgarity. We have dumb-it-down in order to implement "No Child Left Behind". This means test scores from the mentally handicapped must achieve an average score so all pass. Not very encouraging. I am sure he would be a superb President, yet I can imagine him having those moments when he just cannot help but break out into one of his hilarious comedy routines. oh well. i guess if we can possibly have a woman as beautiful as Sarah Palin be our President, than we can have a Jewish comic like Jackie Mason be our President, too

omg that's what i'm talking about. can you imagine Mr. Mason's speeches if he were president? they would be incredible with his sense of humor. I mean in the worst of times at least he could make us laugh. Maybe when he reads this it will inspire him to do a video on how he would be as president. That would be great!! Jackie Mason would be the wisest, most intelligent, moral President we would have ever had. Still, there is a strong part of me that is saddened that Rudy's campaign was such a disaster; we missed out on a superb President, and the one man that would have stood the islamofascists down. I like Guliani but i also liked Romney and Huckabee. i have a lot of respect for McCain's service to our country but the Republican party has to run a conservative candidate for president every time. conservatism didn't lose because it wasn't on the ballot.

I did not care for Romney because he was not a man of strong moral conviction. still, since the issue this time around was the economy, he is the one man that might have beat oBongo. mike huckabee is great, but needs to change that hick last name of his. John McCain may have been white bread with mayonnaise, but he is very pro-Israel and in any case better to have a mediocre President than a dangerous one like oBongo

oh don't get me wrong, i voted for McCain and would have supported him if he had won but he's a moderate and that made it more difficult to get the base behind him. I was very pleased with McCain and Palin's attitude toward Israel and am very concerned about Obama toward Israel.

although i do not know the statistics on it, i strongly suspect that had more of those anti-McCain conservative purists voted for John McCain, that we would have been saved from oBongo. and yes, when it comes to Israel, the difference between oBongo and John McCain could not be more stark

bill clinton was terrible for Israel. he played a major role in the Oslo Suicide Accords. He defended the pro-nazi Bosnian Moslems against the pro-Jewish Serbian Christians. Jackie you are spot-on with this. Obama is a liar and a hypocrite and his cabinet picks prove it. 9 out of 10 of them are clinton alums. I'm jewish also and as a jew I am offended by the Rahm Emmanuel pick because he is in favor of a two-state of Israel and Israel doesn't have enough land as it is much less giving up more to terrorist squatters.
