  • He teaches these kids so much. He helps them realize the full potential of their individual voices, they learn teamwork in such a great and artistic way, and let's face it, with the quality of music these days, he's teaching them a lot of wonderful songs they would have otherwise had no idea about. He truly is great at his job. (:

  • Yes!

  • adsfjals;dkfj there is a ton of crap on the internet. This is one of the non-craps. I wish ppl would stop making crap like the evolution of dance and start making children singing

  • So beautiful. So beautiful. Live forever kids. I love ya.

  • awww when i hear and see them sing i wonder how come we all dont stay so innocent and loving forever

  • That was beautiful, and touching, and those are the greatest kids ever. Well done, mr teacher. You, sir, are awesome.

  • As teachers, we are always supposed to be the 'pros' and 'experts' on the subject matter we're teaching. Sometimes without warning, out comes that little "trip up" where our students catch us making a mistake---AND THEY LOVE THAT! In hindsight, it makes us human and not just a machine spitting out facts. Thank you for including the out takes/gag real at the end. Wonderful group of students there at PS-22 with an awesome teacher to guide them. They will never forget you.

  • Goosebumps and tears...

  • Take thirty-eight. =) cutie.

Wow. 6 people aren't sailing away.

  • Greg, this is my favorite tone color for the choir yet! The high harmony is a nice change from your usual amazing alto parts. PS22 kids, thanks for being an example in showing kids how to smile and enjoy a performance! I shared this with my students in hope that some of your fun will wear off on them:)

  • LOL we're doin this song for our pop show...but this original cover verision is sweet!

    :D

  • loving the kid with the bleached mohawk! and the little girl with the Fame shirt! The next generation Glee!

  • This remind me of when I was little. :)

  • I teach in an inner public school system and it is very rare but at the same time so exciting, refreshing and motivating for veteran teachers like me to meet teachers like this amazing music teacher. Reminds me why I entered this field.

  • O.K., now you're making me tear... I love this song.

  • So thankful teachers like you exist. Thank you!

  • My favorite song in the whole world! It is great seeing a teacher soo passionate about what he does. He is not a teacher but an inspire r.

  • OMGoddess that was Excellent!

  • First off, it's so nice to see a teacher who so obviously LOVES what he does and interacts with his students the way you do. Beyond that, your students have AMAZING talent. You should be so proud of them and they should be so proud of themselves. All kids should be so fortunate to have at least one teacher like you.

  • Magician, magicians. Makes me smile inside and being happy to hear and to see you.

  • You know, with a person like their teacher, a lot of young lives have hopefully been inspired and saved to follow their dreams...wish I had a music teacher like that when I was growing up. Such a beautiful job!

  • "Take 38"

    lol

  • Amazing and not a stitch of self-consciousness. Imagine if adults had that passion and joy.

  • Awesome!! A great message and song for the kids to sing!

  • Gives me goose bumps to hear kids sing this song. One of my fav bands growing up. Good job on piano!

  • thats beautiful

  • How angels.

  • awesome (reminds me why I became a teacher...)

  • I love this song and they just do a great job. they sound better the my high school chorus for white Christmas the musical. they probably had alot less time than we did.

  • they r SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Every vid Ive watched with PS22 has been amazing. Lots of talent there both for the kids and the adults in charge.

Loved the vid where Tori Amos came out to see them.

  • i love when groups of kids sing

reminds me of my childhood and when i used to do that

    =[

  • Like you Gregg I grew up on that music. Thanks so much for all you're doing. Best regards from Germany.

  • Wow...you guys have done it again! Nice job.

  • One of my FAVORITE songs! beautiful!

  • I went to a very conservative school in England, I was in the choir oh how I wish we had a music teacher like him and had has much fun as these children so cool and what a lovely song

  • I love this song!

  • Good video. But at 3:03 the girl in the bottom right, the one in the blue, looks like shes about to burst into tears.

  • Such great kids! Have you ever tried 3, 4 or even 5 part harmonies? That would be insane! Keep up all the great work!!!

  • i don't mind them all moving about, it's them expressing what they are feeling when they sing. it's beautiful to watch! great job!

  • Awesome as always! I love that they move and how much they get into it! Not a distraction in my opinion at ALL!

I was in Texas Girls Choir and we weren't allowed to move except our mouths! It sucked lol

  • I was in All City Choir for grades 5-6 in Arlington, TX and it was exactly the same way! And we had full blown out uniforms! I would definitely prefer to be in a choir like this!

  • Once again amazing! Take 38 LOL, try not to look as ugly as you are....The Mr. B (I think thats his name) is one hell of a teacher, great since of humor as well.

  • I loves the bloopers at the end too!! Awesome Job as usual everyone.

  • bahh i love you all for doing come sail away!!!

  • Take 38, ha-ha! Oh man I

  • It's distraction how they all move around so much but their voices are great and they have a great teacher...lucky kids.

  • Outstanding

  • mann ... i wish that the people in our choir were as dedicated to singing as these lovely group of talented singers. Lovely choice of songs :P Classics never die!!!!

  • Great job! One comment though: The camera being closer to the piano than the kids tends to make the piano overpower the sound of their voices on the audio. Might try filming from a different angle or further away from the piano?

  • Awesome work on the piano. That looks and sounds hard to play, but wow, the playing worked out great, and it led the singers just right! Very big thanks for sharing this one. Gold stars for everyone!

  • PASSION!!! Astounding passion in these kids.

Thank you. I love the outtakes lol so funny!

  • These kids give me goosebumps every time. What a wonderful teacher they have!

  • Beautiful song, beautiful children. This teacher has the right idea on how to inspire and nourish the talents each of these children have. PS22, continue your good work with your kids.

  • Thanks also to aplusk for his tweet on this - this teacher is amazing and as others have said it's obvious he loves what he does. Keep the arts alive in school!

  • Ok what thoroughly amazes me is this man's love for what he's doing. This clearly isn't just a "job" for him, but a passion. There are so few teachers like this these days; these are the ones that the children remember forever! Hard to imagine that most teachers qualify for food stamps. YOU ARE AWESOME, dude - KEEP IT UP! Those kids are our future :)

  • @HecticEclectic amazing! these kids are friggin great! great teacher, wish i had a role model like him when i was young.

  • just wonderful!! what amazing work you do with these children. bless you and them!

  • it's so amazing, "take 38 "rolf !

  • I would love to have had this man for a teacher. This just shows you why the Arts need to continue to be taught in school. The children are amazing! Bravo!

  • love the kid at 0:57 with the blond badass hair, haha

  • WOW

  • As one of my favorite songs of all time, and as a huge Styx fan... BRAVO! That is the first time I got chills from hearing that song since I saw Dennis DeYoung and Styx perform it live in 1986!!! Thank you!

  • It's amazing how the music sang in the schools move along decade by decade.

just think in another 30 yrs the kids of that decade will be singing songs like Second Chance by Shinedown!!!!

  • wow, thanks to ashton @aplusk for making my morning, happily this is what i've retained through my 47 yrs,my sheer joy in music, god bless mr p for instilling this bliss in their hearts,it's the most significant life changing encounter they'll have.

  • Made my day, thank you! Well done!!

  • That was very cool! What a bunch of Little Shining Stars!!!!!!!!

  • wow..

  • austin kutcher told me about this!

  • One of the best yet Mr. B! I think someone should pitch you guys to the producers of "Glee" so PS22 and the glee club can have a sing off on an episode. How awesome would that be?!

  • Another PS22 hit! This was a favorite song of mine as a young child too. I used to pretend to play the piano along the edge of the nightstand that held the record player in my older sister's room. Beautiful performance! Thanks for sharing.

  • ps22 would win.. FOR SURE. hahah

  • very nice. its amazing

  • Great song!

    5 stars.

  • Talk of Angelic voices. BEAUTIFUL!

  • got shivers listening to this....great work!!!

  • AMAZING!!

  • Amazing kids... They sing so wonderful

  • Very soothing. The whole chorus was awesome. I see future singers. I love how so many of them sing with hand motions. I can just see the passion they hve for singing.beautiful. And YOU work so well with Kids. I hve said this before. But I am beyond serious...U R probably the best teacher I hve ever seen. U have smthng many teachers dont have. Passion,Love & patience. whether you hve kids of ur own or not, they WILL Adore you if they already dont.U R very blessed to have the job you have.

  • Gregg, I hope you read these comments. Is it possible for you to show one of your classes. Just a peek, so we can see how they learn the words to these songs. :-)

  • I'm always impressed by the life and energy you and these kids express. I hope to someday do the same when I become a foreign language teacher. I don't think such energy should be limited to music. We should try to find it in all subjects we teach to others!

I think my favorite part of this song was when you guys broke into a capella at the end! It was fantastic!

  • Beautiful harmony. Great job! I can't believe how beautiful this song is with children singing it!

  • Hey, dude. I just want to tell you that I've been in choirs since I was three years old, and the way you let these kids express themselves is GREAT! I remember getting in trouble for moving around in my seat, even if it was only to emote to the song I was singing. These kids are really lucky that you allow them to "sail away" when they are singing.

  • AWESOME!!!! My son is studying to be a music education teacher, so I sent him this video. You are an amazing teacher!!!

  • This man has done sooooo much for these kids. He should be Knighted.

  • He is American. Knighted wouldn't be nearly enough for him and all that he has done. Amazing teacher, inspiration, and American!

  • You guys are fantastic! Makes me miss singing in choir- wish I could join you! :)

  • Just have to tell you, I work in a k-4 school as a PE teacher, and our music teacher as well as all the special area teachers who have a hand in the music concerts at our school can NOT get enough of your work. It is on in our office constantly! Your work with those students has brought new life to us, and what we are trying to do for our kids at JFK School in Raritan NJ. So thanks you so much and keep it coming! -Mike

  • mr music teacher person? I think you have the greatest job ever! these kids are great!

  • These kids amaze me and inspire me with every video!

  • This is so beautiful and heartwarming. Shame on me for never having heard this song before. Thank you for introducing it to me and to the kids.

5* -> IMHO this is easily the new group's best song so far. Love the lyrics.

  • awesomeness again!

  • Wonderful job. They really do keep getting better and better.

One of the altos has an AWESOME hair-do.

  • wow! they're so good ALREADY! well done! I could never figure out if PS22 is a group from one school or from lots of local schools... anyway, there must be some serious competition to get a place in the class these days! is it done by a names in a hat lottery?

  • Every song you all sing keeps on getting better and better!!! Keep it up!!! Can I make a request for you guys to sing a U2 song??

  • search for "PS22 van diemen's land" if you haven't

  • Memories, warm vocals. Enjoyed so much. :)

  • Oh and very nice piano work as well. Love that you include those bloopers too.

  • It does me good to hear the songs of my youth being sung so beautifully by the youth of today.

  • One of my favorites. If I ever did chorus, I wish I had a teacher 1/10th as great as you.

  • soooo the girl in the front row, red jacket pretty sure her name is Alyssa? lol

yeah tell her im her biggest fan haha.

she reminds me of myself when i was little..even tho im only 16.

and im sad the one boy shaved off his red mohawk! :(

your guys are awesome, very inspirational.

  • * You're

  • You're right- those are amazing harmonies!

    Stunning work. Love your videos!

  • Love you guys!! Keep up the GREAT work!! :)

  • This was one of my favorite songs as a young kid as well. I had this album on vinyl when I was about 8 years old. One day,I was blaring this very song, while home alone. My mom was next door visiting my aunt and uncle. She had asked my to greet the local pastor when he showed up. I had forgotten. They both burst through the door at "...a gathering of angels appeared above my head...", the point where the song starts rocking! Talk about a kid turning several shades of red and stuttering! Memories!

  • Gotta love these 5th graders!

  • Just wanted to say that this was absolutely beautiful and especially moving....My kitty just passed away today so this was a little bittersweet for me =) Keep up the beautiful music, thanks for putting a smile on my face.

  • i <3 you kids!! you guys are awesome

  • i love these vids.. cause there just fun to watch... and i like it

  • AWESOME JUST AWESOME

  • Great work kids.

  • The chorus at my high school did this song for graduation last year. It's such a great song, and your rendition sounds great.

  • SO much better than the most recent stuff... I know you're getting popular and want to give people what they ask for, but please please please stay focused on performing beautiful songs, beautifully! :)

That said... I suggest a duet. "Love Is" by Vanessa Willams and Brian McKnight, using the whole choir.

  • amazing!!

  • IT'S EIGHTIES NIGHT, YAYYYY.

  • brilliant! awesome arrangement! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

  • Mad love form the island of St. Lucia
