  • I love this SO much. Absolutely incredible voice.

  • crez

  • When all those old blues buddies will go, there is somebody who can step in their pathway. Thanks!

  • He looks like a geek but he is a hell of a musician

  • OMG is he talented, I don’t think he sounds like Clapton, but someday I believe that he’ll be mentioned in the same breath as Clapton, Buddy Guy, and Hendrix.

  • @RedsoxFan20042007 for sure. youtube is great for small-time musicians getting their due. he's really really young here...

  • I met him! :3

  • Thsi is one soulful MOFO. He ain't playin on the ax either.

  • chri t f of shit

  • thanks for the vid post...davy is surely talented. I enjoy his music very much

  • i definitely tried adding this to my favorites only to remember that i had just picked it from my favorites to watch

  • This make me starting learning the Guitar on my old Days...

  • the new eric clapton is here!

  • every chord he plays has its own purpouse

  • i love it

  • damn can he ever sing

  • this boy has the voice of a 60 year old blues singer....so fucking soulful!

  • Love his style and sound...reminds me alot of the acoustic Zakk Wylde from early in his career...

  • Holy cow!!!! I closed my eyes for a moment and could swear I was listening to someone who's been in the business for 20 years! AMAZING, Dave!!!

  • First class player and singer!!!!! Represent I. O. M!!!!!!

  • This kid has a great set of pipes

  • id love to hear some slideguitar.. :)

  • Dude's great, him playin unplugged reminds me of clapton

  • @guitarsareruss please don't use fuckin clpaton as a marker y'know! he's iz own style leave it be ;)

  • @guitarsareruss

clapton ? sounds nothing like him

    hendrix ? nothing like him

he sounds a bit like Davy Knowles

  • @rundovercat except actually it does sound a lot like Clapton. Musicians will always be compared it's okay, he has his own style too.

  • You got a great blues voice bud.

  • Its strange how he is playing in an office enviroment - an ironic setting for blues!

  • he has obviously sold his soul to the devil.

Wish I had thought of that.

  • your comment made me laugh so hard. ;D

    totaly true

  • wow. amazing. huge fan!! love the song combo!!

  • Wow - Move over Eric Clapton - joke. It's cool to know that we have some-more blues rock to hear.

    Go get em boy!

  • AWESOME! thanks for posting this. I Love Davy's music & Voice. Saw him live and he sent chills down my spine.

  • speechless- raw talent in this video. wp davey

  • Natural Talent, truly a gift to music Anyday

  • Davy opening for someone reminds me of a time my dad told me he saw AC/DC opening for Ted Nugent. It just should never happen

  • @gpmf08 Ted is the reason AC/DC is popular

  • @gpmf08

Or AC-DC playing in a seaside bar in Adelaide South Australia, back when i was an 8 year old waiting for my ol' man to finish drinking, just a cpouple of years to young to know what was going on

  • saw davy and bds at rothbury! what an amazing show

  • i saw this guy at the gibson opening up for chickenfoot

  • Dave should not be opening for anyone anymore.....can give er on his own!

  • saw him open for government mule awhile back, best show i've seen in awhile

  • Peter Frampton produced the new Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam CD "Coming Up For Air". Knowles, from Isle of Man is now touring the US promoting the new CD. "There is enough swagger, anguish and fiery chops in this Peter Frampton-produced set to qualify 22-year-old British guitarist Knowles for mainstream blues-rock cred." (USA Today review of 'Coming Up For Air') For more information see: davyknowlesdotcom

  • i saw him on the 10th along with chickenfoot. gotta love 'em lol.

  • Saw that same show in Charlotte. He's good.

  • Saw him on the 5th of august, best show ive seen, then chickenfoot made us all deaf for a few days

  • i was at the same show! hes my favourite guitarist! best day of my life lol

  • what's the guitar he's playin'?

  • i saw him at stubbs last night best show ive ever seen in my life

  • saw him in thunder bay, ontario a few weeks ago at a blues fest, one of the best guitarists i've ever seen

  • Davy Knowles is an outstanding musician. I wish he can give me acoustic guitar lessons, cuz that would be so awesome :)

  • How does that voice possibly come from that frame???!!! I just saw him at Rothbury w/his band and it was quite possibly my favorite set I saw. Dude's setlist was basically him standing up there and saying: "You liked that one? Lemme show you what I can do to THIS song or THAT genre," with a big ol' Cheshire cat grin on him the entire time. Dude is one of the best performers of this generation.

  • Yo he def is the best to come out in awhile i saw him at bonnaroo last year and he was fuckin amazing i fell in love instantly such a good show man one of the great memories

  • God, this is so good. Amazing Talent.

  • No sorry he's straight

  • god damn what i would give for a voice like that!

  • what a playing!!

  • What model guitar is Davy playing?

  • he is seriously awesome! absoloutely love it!

  • Great voice for such a young guy. He is a great musician.

  • anyone want to bother with a tab for this one

  • Had the pleasure of being front row when BDS opened for Gov't Mule in Cincinnati. Short set, wish they could have gone longer. Just got the Bonnaroo CD to hold me over until the new CD this summer. Best music to come out in a long time.

  • Comin' Up for Air is finally goin on Davy's new album! Coming out in June, I'm sayin the best album release this year along with their Live at Bonaroo comin out.

  • omg I can't believe the Bonaroo show is going to be an album. I saw them there and it was one of the greatest shows of the weekend. Probably one of the greatest shows I've ever been to. Their first album doesn't do them justice.

  • that album was fantastic.

although I haven't seen them live. it'll be very hard for me to see them live, I live in the UK

  • has anybody heard of johnny Lang making new music in the last couple years?

  • compliment, great,

  • his voice is sick, add the fact hes the best guitarist of the next generation and thats a great sound.

  • This is by far the GREATEST talenet I have seen come up in YEARS. F_k'n "A"++

  • I didn't expect this....

    Amazing

  • hell yeah keep the blues alive

  • mmmmhhhh.....This Blues.....this is Blues Folks....

  • Thanks. Siggi

  • I have just been blown against the wall by this man.

  • I'm not gay, but dude..... sooooooo seksi. lol... you rulez! anyone know which album the second song is on? it's not on the one i have = (

  • J'adore ce type!

Je l'ai rangé au chaud au milieu de mes albums des Black Crowes, Gov't Mule, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gallagher, Bonamassa, ......

Don't stop the band please and come in Europe!

  • I don't speak french, but you, Sir, have a fine taste for music.

Ich spreche kein Französisch, aber Du hast einen feinen Musikgeschmack.

    Mule, Skynyrd, Gallagher, Bonamassa..

    Try these, too:

    Hör' mal rein:

    The Answer, Free, Robin Trower

  • davy is such a good guitarist, but the band just recently broke up. its really to bad. they were soo good and i was really excited about seeing all 3 of them live when the album comes out, but ross and adam are starting their own projects in the uk while davy finishes the album and goes on tour, but after that i don't know. just letting every one know

  • well Davy himself will still be maintaining Back Door Slam. And with his talent it'll be no time till he can get a great drummer and bass player.

  • this is from their site

"Thanks to everyone who has sent messages since we announced earlier this week that myself Adam, and Ross would not be continuing together as a trio. The response we've received has been incredible and very supportive for us all. Thanks again !

  • To clear up any confusion, this is not the end of the road for any of us... and whilst Adam and Ross are pursuing their own music careers outside this band, I can confirm I will be continuing as Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam. I am currently writing and preparing songs for the follow up to Roll Away, and I will be touring later in the year to support its release. Can't wait for that, and I really look forward to seeing you out there on the road !

    More news very soon,

    Cheers, Davy :) "

  • one of the best acoustic guitar solos i have ever heard

BDS are on their way to be legends

  • Wow,awesome song. i love this band

  • OMG i cant belive how many retards comment in here. What kinda bullshit is it to judge someone on their instruments. To be honest you should be very excited about this kid and the band in general because they are truely awsome, and takén their age into consideration they have a VERY bright future ahead of them im sure

  • I met this kid in March 2007 at the SxSW festival in Austin. just an honest humble kid, then he picked up the guitar and blew us all away. BDS are very good.

  • Simply awesome.

  • i just heard about back door slam today and checked this kid out because my friend said people are comparing him to eric clapton....in the original comin' home video i can see it a little, but ya i do think he has his own style....but for being so young he is amazing but still no eric clapton, at least not yet

  • this guy is good.

  • I saw them on Tuesday. This kid plays so comfortably and is a nice guy (based on the 20 second interaction I had with him haha). He's definitely very talented and I hope the best for them.

  • Can't stop watching this!!! wooooo!!! lol

  • You all can pick his style all you want. When you come right down to it he is one of the best young players to come along in the genre' in a long time.KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

  • I Agree with jeff. He IS amazing but from my view his tone does have a hard rock voice but the heart of it is BLUES!!! I have been doin this for a long time and i have heard and seen all the vintage stuff and used it all! about him being the next clapton I dont know about that, they said the same thing about johnny lang and joe bonamassa when they were young. as an artist this is not the reaction you want its flatering but wrong nonetheless he just wants us to feel him for what it is.BLUES ROCK!

  • it's bluesy. not hard rock.

  • piss off you bawbag!if u can do better i will lick you balls!aprecciate good music and talent when it hits you in the face/monitor!!

  • what the hell are you talking about? his electric tone is one of the best blues tones ive ever heard. his tone is better than srvs and claptons. do you even know what good tone is?

  • His electric tone is all distortion, no natural tube gain. It's sounds like metal tone for gods sake.

That's just my opinion. I think every other aspect of his playing is amazing, I'm just a stickler for tone, what can I say. But shitty tone really can ruin a great player for me. I just stick the acoustic vids and I'm happy :)

  • um...you've obviously never seen him live...

  • But I've seen the videos.

What's the problem? I think he's amazing. He is an incredible blues player. I just think his tone and his band even aren't that great. They give off like a hard rock tone and feel to their music, not a bluesy one.

So everyone just shut the fuck up and let me say that guy isn't perfect.

  • eh, idk.. i guess i can hear what your saying, but i guess i would say that is his own individual sound. i agree, it definitly has more crunch than most blues/rock artists, but i wouldnt say its bad tho.

  • Your all about the tone yet you could not point pick out tone if it cock slapped you in the face... His tone rocks... You are in fact "Tone Deaf".

  • These guys are just fucking unbelievable. I hope we hear a lot more from them - And anyone in NY can still get tickets to see them July 15th at the bowery...

  • anyone else thinking this prodigy is the next clapton?

  • an all time great in the making to be sure...

  • I saw Back Door Slam at Bonnaroo this past Thursday night and they were abcolutely amazing! This video is no different.

  • Davy k..rhymes with stevie ray.........he was born with the blues bug...each song comes out different......such a blessing to collect!

  • It's amazing. They're so good, but so humble.

  • WAKARUSA...JUNE 5th 6th 7th 8th ? 2008. They'll be there. I saw them in KC at the Grand Emporium, and it was the best show I'd seen in a very long time..but sadly only about 20 of us (in all KC aera) were smart eneough to know to go??? What a shame...but I enjoyed the room in the bar :)

  • Guitar god in training...

  • definitely come to philly

  • I heard about BDS 1 week after they came through Colorado..DAMNIT I JUST MISSED THEM!! Oh well, great band and Davy will be the next guitar god.

  • BDS, i like that...i like it enough to start calling them that. good work claptonhendrix1!

  • Thanks but I'm not the first one... oh well I'll take credit :)

  • Look!.this clapton shit gotta stop...........have you guys heard of stevie ray vaughan? He has more jimmie and stevie than anything!Eric clapton aint got a blue bone in his body, he's good but he aint got the blues in his soul , he has to learn the blues. Ask him yourself......he'll tell ya! either ya have it or ya dont....you dont learn the blues..your born with it!

  • He's had a childhood worthy of the blues more than most people ever experience in their life. His father abandoned him as a child, and he grew up thinking his grandparents were his parents and his mother was his sister.

  • anyone who grows up and dedicates his life to playing the blues...lives with the blues...it's that simple. I love SRV and I agree he's more a bluesman than Clapton but this video has nothing to do with that...it's about Davy Knowels.

  • what are you talking about? have fun when your chillin at the asylym psycho

  • and, you can tell this...how?

  • Comin' Up For Air is such a great song! I can't believe they didn't put it on the album!

  • thats exactly what i was thinking! the album is pretty incredible, and davy is ridiculously amazing, but i think comin' up for air would have been a great addition

  • Oh shit how old is this guy?????

    Great!!!!

  • 20 goin on 21 i believe

  • marry me :)

  • wow, this is incredible. loved it.

  • I disagree pen1232. The more responses we get - the better picture we have of peoples opinions. It's not like the same person posting 100 times...

  • can people stop saying "i see a very bright future" or "he is going to be big" he probably is but you dont need to say it 100 times

  • heh...he is going to be BIG...he can play AND he sings like Paul Rogers...what a combo...god bless him...the blues are fine for the next generation!

  • finally sumtin original tht isnt just the normal emo power-chord music

  • this is what music is about finally someone

is comming out with something great that will last forever

  • Just saw them do Come Home on Jimmy Kimmel Wed Apr 2-08 episode. One of the hottest live performances I've seen. This guy is a killer Strat player. I predict a very bright future.

  • jlr i basically have it figured out if you want it

  • it would make me like totaly happy if you like gave me tabs or something

  • oh... oh so pretty. u

ugh... the music and the musician

  • I see a bright future for Davy! So much talent for someone so young. I'll be catching his show in Milwaukee, WI April 23rd!!

  • Anyone have tabs?

  • This guy is amazing. :P

  • Saw BDS in January in Bend, Oregon... man did they ever rock! They'll be back in April and I'll be there for that one, too!!! Hellzyeah.. Absolutely worth the four hour drive to and from through a blizzard.

  • This guys voice is incredible! I would buy his cd in like, two seconds. Awesome.

  • so why don't you?

  • available on ebay right now!

  • I passed a copy of there original EP to Buddy Guy whilst on Holiday in Chigaco. I really hope he listened to it!!

  • i haven't seen such a band since...erm, maybe derek and the dominoes, i think.incredible.they will be great.i wish, i could see you in eastern europe, i would prefer hungary, i live there:)

  • I'really hope Back Door Slam comes to Europe.

  • Waldomike is right this guy is better than awesome and reminds me a bit of Rory Gallagher 5* ;)

  • they are playing in Houston March 10th........

  • Well Said!.. Kids over on the Isle of man.. (where BDS came from) Love them though x

  • I would say that this band is awesome, but awesome is an inadequate word to describe Back Door Slam! Davy Knowles is an unbelievable guitarist!! I can't wait to see this band..Davy, keep doing what you're doing..I just wish Jimi and Stevie Ray were still around to hear this young man play & sing! I'm glad that young guys like Davy and Kenny Wayne Shepherd are carrying the torch, and playing this style of music. I hope Back Door Slam puts out a CD of their live music soon...I WILL BUY IT!!

  • they have a cd out, it's called Roll Away

but from what i know its only avalible from The Isle Of Man (where i live :P) and places in america

  • i got mine on ebay!

  • Incredible. Why is it when I find an amazing UK blues band, they aren't playing any gigs over here?

Make sure you come back for us, y'here?

    Amazing guitarist.

  • I just heard this on my local radio station. I had to come and look them up. They are AWESOME!!!

  • i would like to see davy and joe bonamassa collaborate..... ohhhhhhhhh.

  • That would indeed be SICK. Can you imagine those two on stage together?

  • Sorry, replying to aschlemans comment.

  • Just saw these guys open for Styx in Red Bank NJ....Oh my goodness what style and finesse (sic) ...he's got it all going for him. Seems like a nice kid too...humble at this stage. Very appreciative of the crowd response...works a wah wah pedal and his volume pot with the expertise of someone who's been playing 15 years!

  • just saw them in philly. This kid is the real thing!Soul style and speed. 20 years old no where to go but up. Way way up!

  • its pretty easy ifu look at what he is playing , probs easyier then tabs tbh , just zoom in. I shall tab it later maybe.

    rock on davy 5****

  • May be somewhat easy but he still makes it an epic song :)

  • please ...

if someone got the tabs, I need it !

  • Wheehaw !!!

THAT WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, MAN !

THAT'S THE BLUES; DOWN FROM THE ROOTS IN HIS GUITAR AND VOISE !!!

    PRAISE THE LORD

  • F***in Sickest Guitar Player and Band!!

  • Well said :D

    BDS FTW!

  • He's alright...I guess.

    Kidding.

He's brilliant. I'm pretty excited to see these guys again tonight.

  • Brilliant. I also bought their album based on watching a few of these videos.

  • thats what I'm talking about!
