And most of the cars at their oldest, they look like 1957 models at their oldest... and besides, you can see late 1930's modifieds anyway... they never ran during the actual 500.
@TheRacer120 Again, what if they came out of the pits in the wrong order? I asked this 4 months ago and no one answered. With no scoreboard, there is no real means of confirming your claims by looking at this video.
@BeckhamRacing I wasn't talking about the order! I was talking about the cars! To quote myself: "and besides, you can see late 1930's modifieds anyway..." you wouldn't have seen them in the 500. If you had actually paid attention to what I wrote, you would have realised that.
@TheRacer120 That's even worse.....you can't say for sure that these cars are 1930's models. However, is there a possibility that they were modified to perhaps look like a 1930's car? Yeah - maybe. But to know for absolute certain from looking at the footage, can't be conclusively determined. Speculated? Yes. That's what you're doing. Conclusive? Not possible. Oh....and it's REALIZED, not realised. You should have realized that.
The cars which started from 5th and 6th in the 500's number were: #28 and #7. In this, it is #85 and #50, the numbers of the 5th and 6th placed starters in the Sportsman event. And the seventh placed starting car in the 500 was #12, and that doesn't look like car #12 to me. It looks more like a #?3.
BeckhamRacing, Fireball Roberts started from third in the Sportsman race as well. This is the Sportsman race. The numbers for the cars in the top 4 positions for the Daytona 500 were: #6, #47, #22 (which was Roberts,) and #3. But in this video you see that the 4th place car is not #3, but #81. This was the number of the car which started from 4th in the Sportsman race, and the car which started from 2nd in this race was #49.
Ascertaining the positions from the parade lap is not a viable means to support your claim. What if they came out in the incorrect order? What if they changed positions on the backstretch? There is no scoreboard in the video. So, your point is noted - but still inconclusive.
the blue angels performing that year is what made it so customary at all the races now days
