it took me about 10 years to like this song, it's very nice. Rishi Kapoor always does so well in songs, he's a real good songs actor, Rafi and Kishore both suited him perfectly. Even I'd say Shailendra Singh.

@mars3400: I agree with you. Most modern Hindi songs are now simply made in a style that imitates Western music. Traditional music in India is being replaced by Western pop music.

Of course hindi songs are changing. but it is obvious and its not an imitation of western music rather its a mixture of indian and western music. Unlike Holly, many hindi songs still have a perfect mix of various music threads like Sufi, Western, Indian traditional, Shastriy Sangeet and Persian or arabic.

the old format of typical indian songs is still in practice in regional movies. Go for Telugu, Tamil, Marathi etc. regional movies and u wil get it.:-))

Of course they would say this. It adds more socio-economic prestige to them. Every Indian knows that "Kapoor" is a pure Indian name of the Arora/Khatri caste, which is a Banya/warrior caste of Punjab. There are a lot of revisionist historians at work also. For example, we all know that Sunjay Dutt's mom, Nargis is muslim. On Wiki, it says that she was HINDU from Rawalpindi.

However, Aamir Khan has Afghan ancestry (Tajik, I think).
