8. Orla Fallon: I like almost all of her songs. Her voice is lovely.
9. Aoife ni Fhearraigh: I've never heard of her, but it sounds like Cianach Corrach is beautifully sung.
10. Maura O'Connell: She's okay. Her voice is a bit too deep for my liking, but it's melodic enough.
CONCLUSION:
So, basically, I like half of these singers, and dislike the other half. But Sinead O'Connor is the worst one, probably, with Dolores Keane coming in a close second.
4. Enya: I'm kind of mixed on her. I definitely love her voice in 'May It Be', which was how I was introduced to her. Hope Has a Place is also very nice.
5. Dolores O'Riordan: Definitely don't like her style of singing, so I'm not sure if I like her voice.
6. Mary Black: I don't like how she sings some of her songs, but others are very pretty.
7. Dolores Keane: Nope, don't like her voice. Too masculine and not very melodic.
modern list-there are many others-sinead oconnor good but pissing on Pope is in error esp when Pope was against american wars so sinead should get a bit of guts and target the real war makers
As someone else has acknowledged, this is personal and subjective list. I would have bumped Sinead out of the top 10 altogether for Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh.
Great musik and heavenly voices, but you should have included all the names of the artists and songs in the description, so I don't have to surf around and find some of them. ;P
It's a personal and subjective list, no definite ranking, it's a good one as well. I would have included Cara Dillon and Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh and ranked Dolores Keane a bit higher.
great top, i think that Enya is a bit overrated, her sister is way better ofcourse :) and i didn't expect to see Dolores O'Riordan here, very nice, and where is Cathy Jordan?? :) Also love Mary Black and Sinead. Agree with the first place, Mairead ni Mhaonaigh is amazing!!
You've left out some of the best female singers. Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, Tríona Ní Dhomhnaill, Maighread Ní Dhomhnaill, and Cathy Jordan to name a few. Only Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Dolores Keane, and Máire Ní Bhraonáin deserve to be on such a list.
Hey, you forgot Cara Dillon!

ah, you are missing out by not having Cathie Ryan in this list. agree that Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh and Mairéad Ni Mhaonaigh would be my choices too.

@Delgift Ireland has so many amazing singers, that some good singers will not appear in a top 10. Meav is my favorite Irish singer aswell.

Very nice list! Myself, i would have included Mary O'Hara and skipped Sinead O'Connor, but otherwise I agree with it.

Nice compilation, personally I would create a top 25 because we have so many great female voices on our island :-)

@Dubhy63 A top 25 would be better, but even than some good singers will not be included.

Really enjoyed this video. However, Enya, Orla and Mary should have been higher on list in my opinion. And what about Cara Dillon?
