@jubilaz Ya know, I think Peter La Farge wasn't Indian himself, so you wouldn't be listening to this beautiful song that brings focus on the plight of the Native Americans. I'm Oklahoma born. I am truly sorry for my ancestors behavior, but I love the shit outta my native american friends. Why repeat history?

The Cherokee were one of the civilized tribes as the US government put it.They were very kind people but could be firece warriors if they had to be.The Government moved them all for the sake of greed.I admire Native American culture and the similarities to Christianity are striking at times.Whetner you call Him God or Great Spirit he is there listening.

The Trail of Tears was tragic. Cherokee had been kind to the newcomers and they we're forced to move just for gold. Pretty good song, haven't heard it until now. ^.^
