PLEASE type in GREEN LANTERN THE ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY it is the true story of how GEORGE LUCAS sent off duty CIA agents to threaten my Mother with guns please check it out thanks
I've said it once & I'll say it again..........YODA was a BAAAAADD GREEN LITTLE MUTHA[bleeeepp]!!........You GO, Yoda!!.....And STOP with the BUTs & CAN'Ts & MAYBEs!!.....Just *DO IT* & Shut the Eff Up!!!!
@Rainb0wSeven I do use with it with staff. But it has not (in my view, and with them) to do with laziness or lack of intelligence. It is a point about resolve and commitment and confidence and "self-assertiveness". Committing oneself only to 'try' means half-hearted effort.
BTW, I see a lot of Yoda speaks in riddles here, and that he tried and failed in the prequels. Uh yeah, and he's learned from those mistakes, and is passing them on in these films. Also, I know that Siths only deal in absolutes-but that line is being taken out of context. That line has to do more with good/evil. I've always used Yoda's line for my dreams, although you can also use them when discussing a moral sitation. For example: I "try" to do the right thing should be I'll do the right thing
@IFollowJehovah Really? So this 'being realistic' thing has always been worldwide? lol It always goes like this: I say: "you're just being pessimistic based on your past experience", they answer: "no, I'm being realistic", then I say: "that's what pessimistic people always say". Sometimes I can even anticipate the 'being realistic' expression and I automatically win the argument. Gotta kill the buzzkill, without the right frame of mind difficult things cannot be accomplished
So exactly what abilities does Luke acquire on Dagobah? All of the ones he currently has? Or does he learn new ones after he leaves? I haven't watched the entire series and wouldn't know where to start looking, so I was just wondering if I could get some answers here instead.
@LightningIrving the only training the movie really shows is luke running around, telepathically moving things while standing on his head and hallucinating fighting darth vader and seeing his own face on vader's mask. he was an excellent pilot before dagobah, and he was capable of force-moving objects before he got there, so it's not really clear. he probably learned mind tricks and lightsaber techniques, but that was never shown.
I loved the part when the cylons blew up everything and I thought Muffet was simply adorable. And in the end when those cute teddy bears over threw the galactic federation. Guess those cylons should had worn metal armor instead of plastic? And when Yoda threw the ring into the lava at Skull Mountain - magical!
I'm not a Star Wars fan by any measure; in fact, I sometimes look down on some Star Wars fans as nerds. But this line - this one line - from the movie is so inspirational, it's one of the quotes that I live by.
@eXAKR Dont look down on us this movie, the entire series is inspirational, its about adventure creativity and the ever lasting battle of good and evil.
@eXAKR Eh... that's like, cool, that you like the quote... but, um... not, that you look down on people for loving one of the greatest movies of all time. And uh, also... we kinda pride ourselves with being "Star Wars nerds." Just, you know. For future reference, or something. I think I've referred to myself as one three times today... without a hint of chagrin. :)
I remember watching when it first came out in theatres. I was 57 years old, and it was just so maaagical when you found out that little green dude is Yoda and you hear Obi Ones voice saying "So was I when you taught me" as that smoothing music sets in the back ground. So amazing, so maaaagical, and it seemed like a mystery to me, such an amazing maaagical feeling. Then the GODDAM prequels came out and ruined EVERYTHING!!!!!
@Mydane " I have a bad feeling about this " Don't tell me the odds" "Get this walking carpet of my way" " May the force be with you" Droids don't tear your arms out of your sockets if they lose......Let the wookie win."
" I feel his presence" " Now young Skywalker, You must die"
@dan4451 Some people may hate the prequels, but the bottom line is, they're canon. The events in them "happened" whether anyone but George Lucas likes it or not. Yoda's attitude is a bit hypocritical in light of the fact that he *himself* has tried and failed, yet he still wants to play the wise sage who speaks in fortune cookie riddles.
@scarabmango Yoda speaks in riddles in pretty much every type of Star Wars fiction that features him, he makes the riddles as vague and contradictory as he possibly can to make him appear wise when really he has no idea what he's talking about. Most atheletes don't win an olympic gold medal or the super bowl, lots think they can do it but don't. There is a try I tried to graduate from high school and did it. You can think you can leviate things in the air but it's not going to happen.

@angeltosome And end up with pussy asses like Skywalker? No. We need our teachers to take a leaf out of Han Solo's book. He didn't need a pussy ass force to be badass.
I remember after seeing the Re-release in theaters (as a kid) my dad pulled a prank on me. He was lifting his arm and shuting the garage door using the force. I tried it and to my astonishment the door opened but only halfway and went back down. So this went on for a good five minutes of me concentrating tying to shut the door, Turns out he had the garage opener in his pocket.
I'm trying to figure out the atmospheric dynamics where fog or water vapor would float at ground level like it does on a planet like Dagobah....sirs...
The fact that the new prequels had way better CGI's but were an abomination to the old prequels, tells us that it wasn't the 'special effects' that made star wars so great.
i don't like star wars i think it's only a miss of time! but the empire strikes back was amazing so good i saw fifteen times. go Master yoda! and live venezuela forever fuck you everybody.
lol yoda talks shyt though...he failed...he talks mad shyt...yet he fails when he trys to beat the emperor and he realizes he isnt strong enough...they need annakin to do the dirty work cuz he was the strongest jedi along with windu...then yoda still talks like hes king shyt to luke about this trying bullshit....yoda is def overrated...windu, annakin skywalker/darth vader and han solo r the shyt.
@wamphyriscurse To right there, got a friend who's exams coming up and he keeps going 'I'll try, but that might not result in success,' basically he knows he will fail to get what he needs.

lol yoda talks shyt though...he failed...he talks mad shyt...yet he fails when he trys to beat the emperor and he realizes he isnt strong enough...they need annakin to do the dirty work cuz he was the strongest jedi along with windu...then yoda still talks like hes king shyt to luke about this trying bullshit....yoda is def overrated...windu, annakin skywalker/darth vader and han solo r the shyt.

"Trying" is merely "doing" with the intention of failing

@wamphyriscurse hrmmmm, what about trying to do? Like trying to do a ploppypoopy

@wamphyriscurse I agree

Not the intention, but you do fill your job with the possibility of failure. If you do something, then you are going to complete it.
Trying = Attempt to do something. It may or may not succeed.
Therefore, there is no try, unless you wish to increase your chance at failure.

@wamphyriscurse To right there, got a friend who's exams coming up and he keeps going 'I'll try, but that might not result in success,' basically he knows he will fail to get what he needs.
