on bhuddism and the major abrahamic religions like christianity... christianity places jesus in a special role that no one else can hope to fill. bhuddism, on the other hand, recognizes that divinity is within, and accessible to all of us. i don't believe in anything supernatural anyway, but i can tell which religion would make us happier and allow us to grow more as human beings

IMO, Buddhism is much more of philosophy, and although containing similar myths as many religions, its tenants always seem to be more practical, or even logical to practice, as in cause and effect, or Karma (do unto others). Its people more acceptable to the hope of world peace as a reality that can be achieved in this life, more so then any religionIMHO :)

I speak mandarin but I've never thought about that questions... I totally know what you mean by tonal changes. I guess being a native speaker, our brains automatically associated the phrases into how we would speak it.
