"stern position on national defense". . . I don't know of any American that doesn't desire a stern position on national defense. Remember, Bush's approval ratings were in the 80 per centile range at the onset of the war, just after we had been promised that there was a real threat of WOMD's, anthrax, and the like. By declaring war and labeling it an issue of national defense, Bush accepted the logical burden of demonstrating what we're being defended from. It's now 2008, and we're still waiting.

REALLY? Ever seen that video clip of Bush, after just having excused himself from an outdoor meeting with dignitaries, hocking a loogie and spitting it on the grass, then turning around to glimpse and see if anyone noticed? Or how about that his declaration of war has resulted in, quite literally, thousands of lost lives-- meanwhile, we're still waiting to see those weapons of mass destruction and/or Osama bin Laden collected and secured? Classy appointment we have up there in the oval office.

I call and write my Representatives, support 'Veterans for Peace' & the like, tell other people, put bumper stickers on my car, Send Metta or prayers, think good thoughts, Attend protest and Vigils, keep myself informed, write letters to the editor, read up on leaders of past successful actions for inspiration, Meet up with like minded people, Eat lots of organic fruits and Veggies to keep up my strength and keep me light and happy. :) I'm most excited about Bob Bowman Lt. Col. USAF tour.
