The excerpt fom "Slacker Uprising" is not very beneficiary for Moore which is meaning well I am sure, but he has no idea. He is fostering the myth of the heroic soldier. There is nothing heroic about being in the armed forces. There are heroes in the army but most of them are just people who get fucked by the system so bad that they have nothing more to loose and not intelligent enough that this war is not worth fighting.

that didn't sound very rational, Rational. Moore's whole point in this CNN interview was his faith in the American people. He believes they're no more idiotic than what those who really run this country convince them they are. And heroic is a relevant term - for or against war or military, a soldier definitely stands for something; always has, always will. His fight is to wake up the people who are the rightful power holders and get them to bitch-slap those who stand against their rights.

I respectfully disagree. Not enough room on YouTube to comment thoroughly, but the Democratic Party, in my opinion, have been race profiteers and race baiters, because they need the black vote. But what have they really done for minority groups? Read Wayne Perryman's "Unfounded Loyalty" for a clue on which party has a history of racism, and which doesn't. Of course, both parties are not exempt from flashes of racism here and there. Racists can be found in all political spectrums.

Republicans are certainly much more racist, I know the Republican party were abolitionist and their causes were noble. But that hasn't been the Republicans since Teddy Roosevelt. The Republican party of today is so removed from it's beginnings, that you can't even recognize the two. The founders of that party would be appalled with Presidents like Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. When LBJ (Democrat) signed the civil rights bill, that's where the midwest and southern Republican boom came from.

What you seem to refer to is class warfare; it's not a "Bush" thing or a "neocon" thing. It's not that he is against the poor; he, like many conservatives, merely have a different ideology on how to make life better for everyone. Liberals seem to lean toward what constitutes as wealth redistribution. It impoverishes everyone. It's the rich who create jobs+ grow wealth; a bigger pie for all. Top 1% pay 40% of the tax burden. Bottom 50% of income earners pay from 2% to 0% of the tax burden.

Look at his position on immigration, to the consternation of the hard right conservatives.

The fact that America doesn't have Universal Health Care like all other modern nations in the industrial world is a travesty of justice and is reflective of the downfall of American Capitalism! i remember experiencing an epiphany shortly after fahrenheit 9-11. I was asking republicans what they thought of the movie- i must have spoke to 200 of them. ALL 200 said the movie was full of lies. Being a Canadian, I have been in Canada's hospitals many times and I wouldn't say they are "on the level of those in a 3rd world country" at all. Our hospitals benefit from modern equipment, but the main problem is a lack of doctors (many flee to the USA for better salaries and working conditions). Our healthcare system is not by any means a perfect system but we do get treated properly. Our hospitals aren't luxurious, but we understand that they're not meant to be hotels anyway.

Well, actually I did more than that, my HMO that I paid $90,000 to denied my needed hip operation, denied over the doctor's urging by a 24 year old high school grad clerk in the centrla office. Rather than paying $60,000 for it I went to St Petersburg Russia for it and had a GREAT experience with wonderul care, all for $5,800 for a total hip replacement. The US system is the worst in the world if you are not rich.
