@LoneWhiteWolf13 Yes the hiss may scare you the first time or two, but then you get used to it. I gave most of my reasons for loving roaches to John Welsh above, so won't repeat. The Blabberous Disorderous I mentioned above are an even rarer species than Hissing. They are from South America and are easy to manage 'cause they don't climb glass. I've seen a picture of a bright green Cuban species also. Out of space. Thank you for defending my favorite insects!!

Hissing isn't the prettiest species, but they're alright. Plus they're SO gentle. I remember one of my Germans climbing the back of my leg. It tickled and I LOVED it. Had 3 Madagascans and most recently Blabberous Disorderous. Those are about the same size, but a pretty light brown color like German. Thank you again!!!

Otherwise, it wouldn't be an issue.

I actually breed these roaches and give them to schools as class pets as well as use them in my traveling bug show. They turn waste into useable soil for plants by eating it.
