  • some sweet info here

  • My brother still farms, my brother still farms.

  • I am so impressed with the detail and thoughtfulness of your work.

  • Just remember, with GMO crops they wish to call Organic...No matter how much sugar you spoon onto a bowl full of cow crap, its still a bowl of cow crap.

GMO's and Monsanto is the worlds worst enemy!!! Fight to bring back the family farms, and take the food production, out of the hand of government crownie corporations.!!!

  • @KingRyltar true

  • FAMILY FARMS

At sunrise on their family farm their day's work has begun.

They feed the cow and milk her, and pat her little one.

They gather eggs from the chickens and fill their bowls with grain.

The happy sheep dog wags her tail, for she's never worn a chain.

  • The eggs will go to the farmer's market later in the day.

They'll harvest all the garden fare that nature brought their way.

Their deep, rich soil with lush green growth will keep them working strong

with tending all their garden rows and farming all day long.

The market gives them rest and shade as buyers come along.

They greet the ones they see each week as friends they've known for long.

  • This give and take of buy and sell makes the farmers proud

that the healthy food they bring to the market draws a grateful crowd.

Dear family farms, you're a national treasure, a tradition we must keep.

You grow the spirit of America strong, so we won't be corralled like sheep.

Those corporate bullies try to break you down, yet you stand so strong and tall.

We must stand up for the family farms and save them, one and all.

  • ~*~During the Great Depression many people would have starved if it wasnt for fruit trees, there is no reason why we cant all work together and plant fruit trees, EVERY single Chruch in the world should have fruit trees on its property to help feed the less fortunate~*~ ~~~Plant Fruit Trees Worldwide in 2011~~~

  • no

  • organic farming gives us HEALTHY, food, using heritage seeds gives us more food! yet, genetically modified seeds actually produce.. less. ironic?

  • Wonderful information! Thank you.

  • IDAHO ORGANIC FARMERS REVOLUTION!

    good folk

  • IDAHO ORGANIC FARMERS REVOLUTION!

  • Now if you go to a 3rd world country you will see that their techniques fall into the organic category, because they just don't have the capital to use all those pesticides and bunch of chemicals. I do think that if we humans are less self-indulgence and try to be heralthier organic food could feed the world

  • I think that one of the biggest problems is globalization, we don't eat anymore seasonal food, we self-indulge so much. Also the world is starving because 1st world countries live such a rich life a expenses of this poor countries, they create war in other countries and this brings instability,so people and government instead of concentrating in feeding their people they are trying to deal with the outcomes of war etcetc.

  • Quick! Hit the dramatic 90s music!!

  • If you are interested in learning about Agriculture from a youth advocate check out my blog all about our operation

    hansonsranch.blogspot.com

  • I wanna be an organic farmer when I grow up! I'm 21...shit I better get on this

  • Balance of pests:predators + hardwork + problem solving

  • My Organic garden yeilded only 30% of it's full potential.

Cut worms got the carrots and potatoes.

    Carrots were deformed and short.

Mole's actually ate the base off half the beets.

It was poor, real poor. Some of the veggies didn't look good enough to eat.

Organic was a waste of my time and money.

One thing is certain, Hunger leads to death.

I know of many who ate organic and died of Cancer.

    Thanks for your opions.

  • @semtech30 so what your telling us is that your a shithouse gardner who has no idea what your doing.

  • I LIKE ORGANIC PRODUCTS THEY TASTE BETTER......

  • Basalt rock dust establishes optimum soil conditions that could reduce the rate of loss of released nutrient element by leaching, and provide a readily available nutrient source for plants. Basalt igneous rocks contain a broad spectrum of up to 100 minerals and trace elements necessary for the well being of all life and the creation of fertile soils. 4 more info Skype gmw,llc

  • @shotgunblade31 sounds interesting. but organic farming is about not adding external resources but instead working with natural processes to fix these minerals and elements into the soil.

  • Check out my channel for videos of a true family farm.

  • well actually, organic vegetable farming can feed the world.

Farming cows, chickens, and pigs can NOT. Organic or not.

If everyone ate meat like America we would be in a world of trouble. Literally.

  • @NexusRebellion spread organic heirloom food seed far and wide, its called"johnny appleseed economics"or"gorrila gardens",spread more organic food. wake up everyone,do your part!IF YOU ARE angry, get seed and make a organic revolution your way.SPREAD THE ORGANIC SEED EVERYWHERE TELL OTHERS! INCREASE THE FOOD SUPPLY RIGHT NOW WHILE WE GOT TIME!! GROW VERTICAL GARDENS IF YOU DONT HAVE THE SPACE! START NOW!SOLAR ENERGY,HAM RADIO,WATER!

AN ARMY IS ONLY AS STRONG AS ITS stomach

  • The biggest change in the world if we adopt organic farming will be the increased number of people needed to return to rural areas to work on farms and the increase of the prices of food due to this cost of labor. In North America and Western Europe we have very urban societies. Having an organic garden in your backyard can help but it simply isn't enough for the volume of fod needed. Since I already farm I couldn't care less if I go organic or stay conventional but our others willing to farm?

  • @DouglasEdward84 heck yeah, I was so upset when my dad sold my grandpas 200 acre farm in kansas. I think this movement would make more worthwhile jobs. I love being out side. I know it isnt all easy, but we need more local jobs!

  • a nice organic garden ,or even better an integrated organic farm with multi crops produces very good sustainable yields once the soil has been healed.the question however is wrong.better ask how long fossil fuels can feed the world.at what do we do after oil becomes too expensive.

  • a nice organic garden ,or even better an integrated organic farm with multi crops produces very good sustainable yields once the soil has been healed.

  • To all those who say that productivity of an organic farm is less..

Why don't we try existing technologies like BIOCHAR that can improve productivity?

For more on the rediscovery of biochar, please watch the new "ECOPOLIS: World of trash" documentary on the science channel.

    Thanks, nice video.

  • Until the 1950's most food was grown organically. "But people were starving!" People are still starving. This is due to poor distribution, war and politics more than production. And everything tasted so much better!!

  • Belive it or not Free energy is real,But there are very powerfull forces that want to supress the technology,Find the real deal, a free energy device at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Free yourself!

  • with few people realizing the advantage of practicing organic farming, the produce is not adequate for mega population and needs.the gradual practice of organic or natural farming will somehow make us aware the importance of producing and consuming produce with less or without chemicals.i remember in our country 18 yrs ago, organic farming was usual practice, banana, cassava, rice and legume beans were cultivated in upland areas without applying fertilizer.restoration of soil productivity ismust

  • Organic agriculture will never sustain the worlds population.

Its a farce plan and simple. you would have to cut the worlds population in half and then barely be able to feed them.

North American farmers feed the majority of the world.

We do it through 21st century technology.

Organic corn growers around my area are lucky to get a 100 bu crop...

we are pushing 220 in places this year

  • @Davebjj what a load of crap Dave! Sure one can easily get a huge yield if you spray the food with toxic chemicals that not even bugs would eat...what have you accomplished? Quality is far more important than quantity, and using modern techniques and technologies, we could produce more than enough food for everyone organically and sustainably. I know several CSA farmers in Minnesota that are supporting over 70 families with less than 2 acres. You do the math and quit spreading lies.

  • @dheublein Thank you.

  • @Davebjj a society of meat eaters will also never sustain the worlds population. Too many resources go into making a pound of meat. That's another arugment to address world hunger that grain goes to cattle vs. hungry people. Kind of a messed up world we live in. Very unfortunate because that is the way some in the world were raise amoung fast food, meat, etc. etc. vs. being taught how to eat healthy and what foods to avoid. Just something to remember when eating that turkey.

  • @Davebjj Yes, but if that system is dependant on oil (e.g. to transport food to market), then maybe it's not the way we should be doing things. If we have to kill and ravage a country for purposes of sustaining our way of life (under auspices of spreading democracy, freeing peoples from tyranny) then another way should be found... should it not?

  • strong bass line...

  • Learn about great potash investments on "Industry Watch". You can find these informative videos on Evenkeelmedia 's Channel!

  • We can actually feed 12 billion of humans. The reason why there is people starving is that the large scale production makes prices go down, so producers throw their harvest. Another reason is that food is not equally divided. Organic farming can feed everyone.

  • Farming without corporate chemicals has always fed the world...and it still feeds the majority of the world presently.

Organic is just a government licensing scheme to traditional farming practices

Poverty/starvation is not because of traditional farming it is a function of the 'Trinity of Corruption'...that is central banks (interest), corporations (restricted control to resources and controlling labor), and governmental taxation (property, income tax, sales, insurance, heath, etc...)

  • @allspeechiswelcome you have the "Complete Picture" the cental banks.the multinational corporations(who the central banks own) the corrupt governments, are the enemies of "Humanity" either humanity destroys these entities,or they will destroy human race,it's that simple.

  • @allspeechiswelcome Since the "green revolution" of the 60s farming is largely associated with chemicals, irrigation, high-yield crops and mechanization. Presently over 60% of chemical fertilizers are consumed in the develping countries.

  • people are not starving from lack of food it is lack of access to land. If they had land anyone can grow food to feed the local people.

  • why wouldn't organic farming be good. in jesus time were there chemicals for farming, no. nothing but man and nature. take care of the earth and it will take care of you

  • Lawns are RETARDED. People should have organic veggie gardens.

  • @ncfwhitetigress

Yeah, people don't even KNOW why they're supposed to have a lawn. A yard was to show you owned so much land to grow food on, you could afford to manicure the property directly surrounding your home.

  • I love that her name is Eve.

  • if organic farming is so great than why did people starve in common famines back in the olden days of farming when everything was organic

  • may be it was limited info on farming. native americans never went through a famin. who knows

  • good one man!

  • Because they didn't have fridges to store their yummy organics. Nor could they import food quickly and at high volume from other places that had a good season.

  • Because they could'nt transport food from other places?

  • Wow!

  • there is a naturally occuring fungus that gets in the soil. it forms a symbiotic life form with the plant and others of its species and other plant species and then the plants can trade with eachother for the nutrients they need. this cannot happen with petroleum fertilizers.

worms change the soil eventually you dont need to plow, use less water and they prevent certain disease and nemotoads in their gut turn rock into organic soil.

  • on so patroleum fertilizers kill microbes in the soil. the organic way lets the microbes live. now plants sweat chemicals in the soil to attract micobes then micro preditors come in and eat the micrograzers then the waste the micro preditors produce are exactly what the plant wants. the plant will change its output to control this micro ecosystem depending on its needs by it growth stage and the weather.

  • hi Ruben u have hotmail massener or facebook account i like to interact with Agrobidiversity believers great explanation.

  • if you wanna sacrafice people for your god of death then say so dont blame the planet.

colonize planet kansas theres noone out there i know ive been there

colonize the big bend area of texas, alaska, america's north west, there are places in america where no human has ever set foot.

there are places in the amazon where no human has ever returned from. the river is 3,903 miles long and in places 7 miles wide. during the dry season. 24 in rainy

  • i love these people, eco-revolution is almost in full swing now peoples ^_^ vote with your dollars is the most profound message. please question your motives when you purchase anything

  • Love it!! Working on doing the same on my property, and I am encouraging all to take this route, even local farmers.

    freespeechnetwork (dot) ning (dot) com

Take a stand for free speech on the net!

    Peace

  • organic food is the best i buy my food in flabush coop or wholefood i whish they will have more stores through out the city to all the farmers keep up the good work i know many people they prefer organic today.. we need you good farmers!

  • WHERES THE HEMP AT?!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Sojaofdapepo we have to wait for the economy to colapse and the gov to break down first.... but then its fair game

  • The rats are jumping ship.

CHEMRISK - a research company hired by the Corn Refiners Association has recently taken down it's YouTube channel.

The removal was in response to negative public perception resulting from the discovery of dangerous levels of MERCURY in HIGH-FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. Apparently it has become a liability to defend the sweetener.

See one of the last remaining ChemRisk videos at CornRefinersAssoc on YouTube.

  • Thanks for making this video.

    Very informative!

  • Can anyone please refer me to a good organic gardening book? Just comment on my page or send message. I appreciate it!

  • John Seymour "The Self Sufficient Gardener" Geoff Hamilton "Organic Gardening" Edward C. Smith has a couple good books check out his container gardening if you have limited space. John Jeavons has an amazing book " How to Grow More Vegetables...than you ever thought on less land than you can imagine"

    Many Blessings, and good luck

    b

  • Elliot Coleman has a few great books on organic farming.

  • Organic IS the way to go if your interested in OPTIMAL health... and there's plenty of research that shows this.

I'll be making a video shortly talking about how easy it is to alter a organic vs conventional foods test!

  • Even the water you drink running through your house is soiled with fluorine to prevent your teeth from decaying. Organic farming is just the reminisce of the old country, people who don't know how to do anything but farm and are lost in the age of technology. All we gotta do is wait a couple generations till they all die out...then no one will care about organic farming....they won't even know what it is. hahah.

  • yeah but you can't have an education system that excludes farmers kids because they don't want to, i still support australian farmers!

  • dude you are so wrong...u really think your food came of a capsule or something? go to the FAO website and take a look of how many thousand of miles have been poluted thanks to the chemichals they trow in, there is now choice, the earth will go organic with or without you...the world dont need people like u anyways..10 more years dude...and u will remember this post.

  • most of the people interested in organic farming, and 100% of my (completely full) organic farming class are under the age of 21.

organic farming is not about resisting technology, or old ways of thinking.

it's rising in popularity, and it's about thinking ahead, and "new age" thinking.

these people clearly stated some (but not even all) of the benefits of organic farming!

(anyone who is interested, check of WWOOF)

  • It's young folks like you that give us hope for the future! :)

    Peace, Love and Organics!

  • Flouride makes you complacent...they realized that years ago at the gulag....that's why it's in the water. If it's so great for your teeth, why did it also end up in toothpaste...why does it have to be in the water, and in the paste??? to keep you stupid and complacent...looks like it's working...

  • actually dummie, more and more young people are eating organic, so it is growing. thanks to this failing economy more and more young people are learning about farming. more like all these GMO generation will die out alot sooner than us living on organic fodd, LOL hahahaha!

  • Why don't you start with yourself?

  • If people will not drink synthetic pesticdes from a barrel why will they eat food sprayed with it ?

  • organic farming uses twice as much land (why is that not bad for wildlife??), has half the production,And does not care for its animals. because they do not give their cows medicine.

Organic farming is the worst possible way to produce food, Pesticides are needed to farm 80% of the world, or crops will die. take away pesticides and you have 80% less food therefore 80% of the world population will starve. Can you live with that???

  • wrong wrong and wrong. Do you get your facts directly from Monsanto or Con Agra? Or do you work for them? MONOCROPPING is the BIGGEST problem w/industrial AG. If you diversify the crops, already you are beating some of the pests. Organic is more labor intensive TRUE, but that means that people can work as opposed to this sham of an economy of paper pushers...you can't eat money....

  • oh give me a break! thats more propaganda from Monsanto! whatever you keep eating that GMO food, and pesticide rich produce! Yea people will not starve from all that GMO food, they will just be fatter and passing away at a much earlier age of heart attacks, diabetes, strokes, allergies, digestive disorders! Can you live with that! Your arguement has no scientific merit! There are many ways to ward off pests naturally where you do not poison the people just to keep them fat.

  • 80 % of the population doesn't deserve to live =) The earth has a limit to the number of people it can sustain naturally. Since humans are multiplying in unnatural numbers, they have had to mutate food production in order for greater numbers to survive. Food production will get worse as the world population continues to grow. Eventually we'll either destroy the planet, or there will be a natural disaster that will cleanse earth of most of the human virus.

  • Bravo, spyderhat! You have banged the nail on the head! Man is not an endangered species, yet every single human being, no matter how useless or destructive, is regarded as precious. It's about time that people began to see that it is they who are causing the problems facing the world in their never-ending chase after money. Kill the economy and 99% of the people will die. Permaculture is self-sustaining, needs very little labour and can feed more people more nutrients than monoculture ever will

  • excatly right guys, the natural survival of the fitest mechinsim has been replaced with simpathy, we are now are weaker speacies for it!

  • if humanity is such a virus....so freaking horrible, then start a trend and kill your self.

I am being very fucking serious.

So which 80% of the population should die? The Old? The mentally ill? People in Poor Nations? Or maybe the people in the nations who take up the most resources...Which would be in the U.S. Where you live. So who are willing to sacrifice in the name of the environment? Which of your family/friends should be included in this 80%!

  • Theres no need for culling humans, although i do think we need to ask the families with excess of 6 children to stop unless they are living self sustainabily.

Over-population puts pressure on us to act fast and change the way we exist on earth but, it also has the benefit of providing us with many hands to make light work.

  • everybody whos lazy should be taken out

  • @kitsuneopal It is called natural selection. Let nature/evolution weed out the weak.

  • @kitsuneopal You can start with my ex girlfriends , their partners and my neighbours.

  • @kitsuneopal i say anybody whoose too stupid to see it even when proof is plain to see for starters. O'course they'll probly starve to death anyway. i just hope i can get away before the starving start bustin down my door to get at the food they're too ignorant to grow themselves

  • Sorry, but you are wrong. 80% of the world is starving right now, using your preferred method. I suggest you check out the videos by Sepp Holzer, Geoff Lawton and Bill Mollison before you say any more. Why would anyone want to give perfectly healthy cows medicine? I am afraid that you have been thoroughly brainwashed by the current order and need to sit down and do some very intensive research into Permaculture, which is the purest form of "organic farming", if you can call it that!

  • Bravo. Im with you man.

  • YEah right, you think theres no more options but Pesticides for BiGfarmers around the globe? heres a video so you can learn someting.

    EliminatingAgricultural Chemicals watch?v=RUOOzdYaARg

  • @LamborghiniRacing190 The food is superior , and actually small areas can be extremely productive.

  • his voice sounds like jerry springer? lol

  • actually, scientists have done studies and they believe that the earth can support about 3 billion humans if we each person consumes the same amount of food/energy as they are right now.

  • Brilliant, very informative video. Thank you so very much for making and posting it!

  • You have too ask yourselfs this question where did all of the people come from. Thank You.

  • Grow your own!

  • Its too bad she is cut off at 4:56, she is very articluate

  • u cant prove organic food tastes better or that it is healthier

  • Actually it is proven. The E.U. just did a $25 million study (the largest ever) that found organic food to be substantially more nutritious. That's just nutrition not the social and environmental benefits. If you feed vegetables chemicals that are labelled with skull and crossbones (poison) then they get there nutrients from this poison and we ingest it. When fed from the soil food web (live soil) obviously it is healthier. Finally the debate is over. What a silly debate it is/was.

  • How can you say I'ts not social.

  • @eatlocalfood It is silly but consider the fact that all the law makers are looking to shorten the life span of the middle class and lower class because we are looked at like labor animals used for our strength in our youth rather than equals to the elite. It is no small wonder why the baby boomers were targeted by chemicals to reduce there population with cancerous chemicals

  • @eatlocalfood By your logic organic food contains cattle poop which we end up eating because the plant was grown in it. Balanced chemical fertilizers do no harm the fruit quality unless you directly spray the fertilizer on the fruit.

The plant never takes in nutrients (from the roots) in ORGANIC form, but only after the organic matter has decomposed and become an inorganic salt/chemical

fertilizers are bad for ur environment but not the fruit

  • @JustAStoner You're right, but bear in mind that chemical fertilizers cause soil salinization, water eutrophyzation, health risks (including cancer associated with water contamination of nitrates), ozone generation, green house gasses and they cost energy. They also cause plagues to bloom on crops and incourage the overuse of chemical pesticides.

  • @eatlocalfood Please post the link to the study so it can be spread far and wide!!

  • @eatlocalfood I like your way of thinking can i quote you in some of my writings to modivate organic farming

  • @eatlocalfood I haven't read of this EU study, so I cannot contend with you on nutrition. As one who works in chemical application, however, I can tell you that organic farming is generally worse for the environment, as it uses more land for the same product. It is also important to note that pesticides are still used in organic farming, they just have to be USDA approved. I have noticed in my job that organic fields get more pesticides put on more frequently, as they are less effective.

  • @jaseskildsen

"organic farming is generally worse for the environment, as it uses more land for the same product." Who said land benefits when it is not cultivated? And who says that you have to grow one crop (monocolture) and not grow all kinds of crops and vegetables etc at the same type?...

There are ways of not using any pesticides etc i am sure you know about organic farming, permaculture etc

  • @eatlocalfood Yes, in fact, pesticides are included as one of the occupational risks for those who are exposed to it reguarly, especially those working on the farm and those handling these chemicals.

  • Of course they can prove it. It's called nutritional testing.

  • Actually yes you can and they have proven that it is better for you and healthier. Cancers have been known to be cause by pesticides and chemicals used on commercial none organic farming, try and google cancers and searchs and how people have survived cancers they stopped eating chemically enhanced produce and food and started eatting organic watching there health improve. knowledge is a powerful thing to bad you're lacking in that area.

  • beautiful video, thank you so much!

  • i have a small organic farm in my backyard!

  • m2, she rocks btw

  • natural food just takes better

  • Garden of Eve is a beautiful farm. Farmers Markets are a wonderful avenue for local foods, farmers and consumers. The world could definetly be fed through organic farming...that's how it was done for thousands of years...that's how farming started!

  • Organic is the best way to grow veggies. Cut up banana, apple, orange, etc. peels and put in your soil!

  • You need to compost organic materials before putting into gardens. If put directly into a garden new composting materials will heat up and burn veggies roots. I agre organic is definetly the way to go...only positives.

  • Organic is the only way to live!
