I fucking hate my own province of Newfoundland. I can't get GST back because I am 18, even though my family no longer gets family allowance, I work very hard, and I earn great marks in university. The legal drinking age of Newfoundland is a high 19 years old. Then, the age of majority is 19! That means, that I can fight in war and vote for the Prime Minister of Canada, but I can't vote for the Premier of my own fucking province! Fuck you, Williams, you Conservative prick.

3. Discrimination of age is just as important. What if they decided tomorrow that old people couldn't ride buses? Or a common case of a landlord not letting a 20 year old rent an apartment because he isn't 30? 18 is the age most people of the world are allowed to drink... Britain, Germany, Mexico, France, Netherlands, Spain etc. but not Newfoundland. In Newfoundland you can't even vote untill you are 19. Even the United States lets you vote at 18.
Also, your friends sound like bastards for doing something in front of you that you cant, and not having the decency to drink somewhere where you can.

I will be voting for the upcoming city council election, AT THE AGE OF 18! Don't believe me? True, the bigger picture of Canada needs to be thought about.
However, the Harper government isn't doing that. He has failed on his promises about equalization, etc.
Provinces who get the short end of the stick need a voice, just like workers need a voice (the unions). Think of Canada as a hospital and think of the provinces as the different unions. Newfoundland is the Nurses union, Quebec the workers union, etc etc etc. We need to get what is going to sustain us.
I am a Canadian and second an Ontarian. I admire Danny Williams as a political leader however. He is a man who is passionately dedicated to his constituents. His quality of leadership and insubordination to Harper is unparalleled and should be admired. Of course all he cares about is Newfoundland. That's why he was elected. True, the bigger picture of Canada needs to be thought about.
However, the Harper government isn't doing that. He has failed on his promises about equalization, etc.
Provinces who get the short end of the stick need a voice, just like workers need a voice (the unions). Think of Canada as a hospital and think of the provinces as the different unions. Newfoundland is the Nurses union, Quebec the workers union, etc etc etc. We need to get what is going to sustain us.

You seem to be a very smart and well informed person. The way you flawlessly use your vast vocabulary in such an intelligent manner seems to be beyond the average Canadian. You show no signs of being ignorant or prejudice against things you do not understand. I sure wish I could be like you. As a Atlantic Canadian I also agree that Danny Williams isn't the most awesome politician ever. I have never wished for him to be my premier... all the time.
