It`s been some years now since I done any custom work but I`m nearing retirement now and I got a few projects planned. There`s alot of stuff that thanks to sites like this has become affordable or able to be copied to a degree, thats a great vidio that inspires me to get in the shed and get started again. Thanks for sharing.
Kerry, Thanks for the video. My brother paid over $200 for a 3 hr. British metal forming video and we have been studying it. He is a master Fabricator/ Hobby level Machinist, I an artist. We are twins almost 40 years old, now and plan soon to count ourselves among your ranks.
Rick, you should join the metal shaping conversation on our web site: allmetalshaping with the usual dot ending. You will have to register and post an introduction before you will have access to the complete site.
@pinkertonk Good day kerry i was watching your video on the hot dog die verry interesting i also like your coment on be able to do it by hand first regards peter tommasini
from what it looks like your wheel was slightly to tight, you shouldnt have to fight the metal though it, but it needs to be tight enough to stop the wheel slipping, to lose and the wheel wont strech the metal, to tight and you overwork the mtal making it weak, these weaknesses cant normally be seen unless you go on to sock the metal in a salt bath, but they cant cause structural weaknesses. just an observation.
I don't have a hammer at the moment so I've been trying to produce some of these on a smaller scale on my English wheel, it's a tough job!!!
Most difficult thing is knowing which way and which way up to do the wheeling and of course the top wheel only allows wheeling in one direction otherwise it tries to flatten what you've already shaped - There was a lot of steam coming out of my ears this afternoon!
beautiful model of girl behind, at the final the video

It's rare to see someone fabricating aluminum sheets.
and that's what's i'm looking for . can aluminum sheets be shaped to ...like a camaro side fenders? or any more sophisticated shapes?
thank you... and hope to see more videos from you master...

Aluminum will shape into anything that steel can. Well, 3003 or 1100 alloys will. Some of the other alloys are absolutely hateful to try and work.
So far no annealing has been required to relax the aluminum
